| You can do anything you do on land, run in place, jump jack, twists... (find somewhere where you can take one or two water aerobics classes --- will help.) If you have a noodle, there are lot of things you can do --- tie it up in a pretzel and use it as weights ....move, is the most important part.... keep moving... I take water aerobics three times a week and can run you thru some exercises.... but it would be easier if you can find a class and get some examples there much easier.

| Carolyn thanks. I have lots of noodles and toys out there. We have a class in town. Unfortnately it's 2 days a week on the 2 days I work. I'm thinking it could do alot f good to do more than lounge and tan!

| It depends on the instructor too. I went one morning and they did a lot of resistance work with the noodles. It was fun. We don't use the noodles in the evening class. but some of the moves are just kicking forward, then kicking back (the water provides resistance). also the cross country skier, jumping jacks - basically, you just keep your legs and arms moving under the water - use pushing/pulling with your hands. I never had managed an exercise session more than 10-15 minutes (then curves is 30 minutes). but this water aerobics is an hour. I don't believe I'm doing it. Oh, we also do about 300 crunches.- bring your knees up to your chest, then stand, then knees to chest. Use hand to push down.

| jog in place, or try to jog across the shallow end dodging little kids of course, knees to chest like crunches but under water, side leg raises--lift leg to the side to level of the water if you can get it that high or as high as youjcan get it then lower it10-15 reps each side, get a noodle or otehr flotation device and take it under using just the arms, then resist letting it go to the surface and repeat, try jumping jacks in water to about your shoulders for a real challenge and workout--after about 20 it really gets tiring!!!

| That depends on how many and how often!!! LOL I know how tiring that can be and I only have one raft and one kid! You can do the leg raises to the front and back too--but don't let yourself bend at the waist--try to hold yourself upright.

| i do pool exercises everyday and also swim about 5 laps. this has helped me so much with losing my weight and also keeping me in shape. i have arthritis and a bad back and this exercises has helped keep me more flexable and not so stiff as i use to be. i do what-ever exercises that others can do on land, i run and walk in the water. i do knee scrunches and leg kicks to. i also do push ups. i just put my arms on the steps of the pool and push up and dpwn just like you would do push ups on land. i think swimming and water exercise are the best around for me to do and anyone else wanting to do exercises. if you don't have a pool just go to the Y. and beside all the exercise, i get and keep a great tan from the sun.............. |
