Did mine today!

Sharron,
If you do the workout video it takes 15 minutes to do it. I didn't think it was enough so I added 2 more moves and upped the reps. It takes me 30 minutes to do it.

Well, No inch change for my first week. But I do have increased energy which is great. I'm sure as I continue the exercises I'll get stronger and create a more rigorous workout. I got the tape from ebay. On the tape she goes so fast! I don't get all the air Paaaahed out before she's in position and counting. HA! On the other hand you have to move fast to keep up with her and it makes for a good workout. CC

CC - Where are you measuring? I measure:

neck
upper arm
bust
upper abs
waist
lower abs
hips
thigh
(calf and ankle) Those areas are non-issues for me, but for some gals they are major, so I included them in the list.

I got my full workout in today! It is so wonderful to be able to feel my stomach muscles drawing up. After having no control over them for the past 5.5 years, this is so wonderful!!!

Blessings!

Gia, weren't you having a bit of trouble getting the tummy roll right? That will make a difference.

For some folks it does take a week or two. Give it 2 weeks faithfully before you decide, plz

Sharon, I measured

Bust
Ab
Waist
Hips
Thighs

I'll add the other measurements and see if they shows any change. I'm sure I am not working my stomach muscles hard enough. But think it will improve with practice. FYI - I am 47 years old, 5'4" and 140#. I started Atkins less than a month ago and have lost 8#. My goal weight is 130#. CC 148/140/130

CC - you don't have much to lose. That will make you lose it more slowly...

Kerry -- I'm so glad this is helping you!!

I couldn't do mine yesterday or today (TOM), but will be back "on" in another day or so...

Blessings!

Sharron, I don't have trouble doing the tummy roll at all. It's actually a similar concept to Pilates which I did for a long time. I was just saying that when you are doing a lying down position, the tummy roll is harder (at least for me it is.) But, yes i do agree it needs a fair shot b4 i give up. I did do it today:
reg breathing 3 reps
butt move 3 reps each side
side lunges 3 reps each side

Ok....I got the book from our library (they don't have the tapes) It is very interesting. I figure to start the exercies today and give it 3 or 4 weeks, and see. They are generally things I can do with my arm, so hopefully it will help

I see the Dr Tuesday too, so hopefully he can refer me to a PT.

I have done LOTS of research on my Erb's palsy, and discovered that one of the leading Drs in treating it etc is in Houston. He mostly works with children (as it is usually a birth injury) But when I was a child they didn't know SQUAT about it, and there was no such clinic. This one started in 1983 (I was born 1968) They now have a surgery they can do that can correct most of the problems from it. Too bad for me it must be done by the time the child is 3

Anyhow......I am off on my Body Flex trial. Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated!!

Kamren,

I'm so excited for you! I just know this is going to be great

After you try your first workout, let us know how you did ok?

Suggestions? I'd start slowly since you aren't used to this kind of thing. Don't try all the positions all at once or you'll be miserable tomorrow

Actually, I only do the breathing for 15 minutes and see great benefit from it! I've not been able to BF because of TOM, but hope to start in again tomorrow...

Blessings!

Another idea for a "newbie" to this. I found doing the breathing on my back on the floor (the position for the stomach crunches) helped figure me out how to control the stomach pull-in better and understand just how that is supposed to feel.

Yesterday I just practiced the breathing technique. This morning I started out on the exercises. I was completly unable to do the pretzle...my body would NOT go that way I had trouble on a few that required me to put most of my weight on my arms...as most of that had to be done by my right....
I also found the crunch position the easiest to feel the correct way for the stomach pull in.

I was surprise to find a sheen of sweat too. When I started it never occured to me that breathing would make me sweat.

Yesterday, practicing the breathing I had no trouble with coughing etc...but today when combined with the exercises...I did get some, not completely unexpected, though, since the book said that will happen.

But overall, it wasn't bad, I can certainly say this though....I think doing it when I first get up (which is about 4:30 or 5:00 am) is a really good idea, cause no one else in the house is up yet, and I am quite sure I look really crazy doing it!!
