September is the rainiest month here some years. This is one of those years. But the past 5 days have been very nice so I got in 31 miles to bring me to 54 miles for the month. Unforunately the rain is back today so I don't know if I'll have a chance to walk.

WooHOO! thirty-one miles is very impressive.

It's cooled off enough to walk during the day now, thank God!. But, after my walk yesterday, I developed a pain under the ball of my foot. It's the foot with chronic plantar fasciitis, but the pain is in a different spot than normal PF pain. I am tempted to try walking anyway ~~ not sure yet.

update: I strapped on a big, solid pair of athletic shoes and went walking. The shoes were hot, but they really helped with the sore foot.

Anyway, yeah on me for going walking instead of using my foot as an excuse!

I'm at 66 miles for the month. I'm determined not to let all this rain keep me from walking. But I've ahd to skip 3 days this month because of it and it's rained many more days than that. Yesterday I walked 4 miles. 40 minutes of that was in light to medium rain. Mall walking is out of the question on weekends, it would be more like mall running people over. LOL

8 more miles to bring the total for the month to 44. It looks like I might make it to 60 miles this month.

I missed a walk on Thursday, but I went to a 2-hour dance class on Friday. My foot still hurts, dang it. Today, I was crawling under the house with DH pulling out old cable and speaker wires. Then, I was up and down the ladder painting. So, I excused my self from walking today. But, not tomorrow! Walkies rain or shine!

First day of rain! YES! We've had off and on heavy showers, intermingled with patches of blue sky. Not our normal rain pattern; but, hey, I'll take it!

DH and I grabbed the umbrella and walked uptown to buy our weekly pound of french roast from Peets. It was fun. We had to share the umbrella, so we were walking in lock-step (DH used to be in a marching band) with our arms around each other.

My left foot is still bothering me, but I'm just trying to baby it along by wearing heavy athletic shoes and taking anti-inflammatories. I think I messed with it yesterday as I was kneeling with my toes bent behind me a lot when we were working under the house - not sure standing on the ladder was a smart thing either.

I had to force myself to walk today. It was a really beautiful day and I was gung ho to walk but for some reason my body reisted my best efforts at moving fast. No matter how ard I pushed myself I just couldn't get up to my usual speed. But I walked 4 miles which brings me to 74 miles for september so far.

No walks - my left foot is wacked. I'm not sure what I did, but the tendons under the toes are very painful if I'm bearing weight on the ball of my foot and toes. Only my heaviest athletic shoes moderate the pain. I've got a request into my HMO to see a podiatrist.

I'm missing my dance classes, too :-(

DH, set off for dance class alone tonight, without so much as a backwards glance. I think he's gonna owe me a foot rub when he gets home, LOL!

Any type of exercise should be effective, right? I now question my habits. Right now I am suffering from tendonitus in my right knee. I used to jog 3 miles at least 3 times a week. Now I am walking for at least a half hour every other day. When I recover from my tendonitus, I plan to resume jogging. I hope this is enough exercise. I question it because before I gained weight, I was very active in the gym and I used to play sports.

Everyone should get out and enjoy this weather if it is pleasent in your area. It is the best time of year, I can't wait for the leaves to change

Not sure why but I've been NOT wanting to get out there and walk the past month.
It could be because I was underweight and decided hey don't need to. BAD.
I love getting out there about 5:30 am BUT it isn't daylight now until late so by then I just talk myself out of it and cold weather is here.
I guess I need to "FOR ME" commit to getting on the treadmill EARLY and get it done. It DO feel SO much better when walking.
Hope to gain excitement again reading your messages,
Susie
