I only did 4 out of 5 of my intended days this week, but I went around an extra time on the two trips following my "hookey" day to "make up for it." LOL!

Love your new pic, Judy!

Maggie you are really outdoing me here. I may have to up the amount myself and try to compete with you, just friendly competition though. It might motivate me to go more often.

Fran, I haven't really lost much weight since joining Curves, but my clothes keep getting loser on me, which means I am losing inches..............and that's all that REALLY matters. I haven't weighed and measured for a long, long time tho. I will have to do that soon.............after TOM leaves, and since I'm doing the green tea. We'll see if there's a difference on their scales.

Ah, Barb. I'm not trying to set any sort of standard here. I just know me. Either this is "part of my day" or it isn't.

I'm trying hard to just make it "something I do", like working, shopping, etc. In spite of the fact that I've been really good about it, it still doesn't feel like a completely integrated part of my routine. Getting there ... but not quite there yet. There's some good reinforcement, in that I almost always feel better afterward. There have been a few days when I was so worn out that afterward I only felt "virtuous" for having done it.

They are going to completely screw me up over Thanksgiving. No afternoon on Wednesday, nothing on Thursday or Friday. I don't remember if they're even going to offer those lousey couple of hours on Saturday morning. **sigh** Christmas doesn't look much better.

Yep, same here. Ours will be closed Weds. afternoon, all day Thurs. BUT I believe they are going to be open Sat. morning. I have GOT to remember this and plan accordingly. I better get myself there TODAY!!! I was going to go in this morning, but I slept 'til 10 so that blows my morning. So I will go this afternoon, maybe tomorrow and Weds. morning. We'll see................

If I play the little "competition with Maggie" game in my head, I might get myself there more often. But of course, it's just a mind game I'll play on myself. You don't have to feel responsible in any way whether it motivates me or not.

You guys put me to shame. I've been going three days a week........ that was until last week. I had so much to do Friday afternoon and then had to get up Saturday morning to take kids to a contest that it just didn't happen. I did make it yesterday, and really would have liked to go again today. But, there's just so much time in the day/week. Some days you just have to do the errands. Today was one of them.

I am also starting to feel sort of like Mary Kay was for a while. I'm not sure I'm getting as much out of it as I was. I'm considering making a third "lap" on each of the days that I do go. I can't see myself making it everyday, but maybe I can push myself more on the days that I am there. Heck, I need to push myself to get away from school earlier so that I can just get there.

Curves is one of the few things that I do for me. I need to remember it in that context.

Life's been busy! I did work out both Monday and Tuesday this week, but I doubt that I'll get there before closing time today. Yesterday I did "weigh and measure". I had a small reduction in waist measurement, but otherwise everything else is the same. Actually for this time of the year, I really hope everything stays the same. At least that's my goal for the December weigh in.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Here's something for entertainment purposes........

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary. Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hands, grabbed the bird and put it in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arm and said, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and bad attitude. I'm sincerely remorseful for my transgressions and I will do everything necessary to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior." John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had caused such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

Judy, that is LOL funny!!!!! How cute!!! I had to share it with DH. I'll have to try to remember it for turkey day tomorrow.

Well, I intended to go today, but it didn't happen. I could NOT get to sleep last night, had a headache, so I got up and took some Excedrin pm. I slept til 11:30 and missed my opportunity. I will be going for sure on Sat.

Ours is not open on Saturday............ closed today at 1:00, and stays closed until Monday. I'll be sore next week. I may try to do my Pilates tape-- or at least walk/run with DD's dog some between now and then.

My Curves will be closed Friday but open the 2 hours on Saturday. Was measured on Wednesday and am down a little in the Body fat. Just do not want to gain during the holidays. Wish me luck.
