I am hoping to hit the walking trail again this year. I am still struggling with my heel injury, and hope to get it taken care of soon. But, I cannot sit out another year without some form of exercise. And since I am a fitness walker from WAY back, it's my prefered exercise.
Soooooo....I walked this am...not at a record pace, but steady for 30 minutes, for a total of 1.5 miles. Amazingly, the weather here in OOOOOklahoma is NICE for January...LOL...62 degress and overcast. I'm sure the bottom will fall out again soon temperature wise, but at least for today...I DID MOVE!!!:jump:

So....where are all my walking buddies???

Happy Trails.....

Shelley

shell, i can't walk like i always have because i'm simply not comfortable doing it now in the wee hours as i always have (neighbors and lack of good lighting!), however, i plan to start doing the steps in my back yard -- about 20 to 25? -- it is kinda walking... can i check in here? i'll probably start walking normally when it is light at 6am again.

what'cha think? steps are as close as i can get to walking without leaving the house, and as you, walking (or swimming) are my preferred methods.

Girlie,
Of course check in here! If it's movement, and you are using your legs and feet, then in my book that counts!
Maybe ole Rob will show up and a few other walkers. I would most certainly welcome the company and support.

I plan to walk at least 5 times a week; hopefully my heel will remain status quo. If not, then I'll just have to drop back to *plan B* whatever that is :eyes:

Happy trails!

Well, RATZZZZZZ....it didn't take long for our weather to go down the toliet
36 degrees and rain this am! I need to return a gift to WM this am, so I just may look for the WATP 3 set video. My friend at work really likes them; she loaned me the first video to watch, and it looks very do-able.

Happy trails......

I started, again, with the 1-mile WATP. I can do that, it shouldn't hurt my back - which i have been battling for 4 months now.

So, going to do the walk (1 mile until I feel ready for the 2mile) every dang morning. No matter what. 1 mile only takes 20-25 minutes. I can afford that for my health!

I can't say enough about Leslie Sansone and her WATP videos. I love them and highly reccommend them to anyone who is looking for an uncomplicated way to incorporate excercise into their life. I started out in October only able to do the 1 mile, now I can do all the tapes including the 4 mile challenge express tape (my personal favorite now). I'm glad to see other people who use them as well

Well....guess I'm on board with the WATP I bought the 3 pack this am at WM.
I may not start them today...may get to walk outdoors after all. But if the freezing rain and yucky weather hits tomorrow like they say, then I can *do my thang* LOL.

Happy trails....

Shelley -
if your heel is what bothers you on the walks - this may be a good supplement /replacement to the walking outdoors. There definitely isn't as much impact on the heels as in regular walking, but it is a more intense workout than just the walking also.

Hope you find what works best for you.

Hi Shelley, Glad to see you back to walking.

Sharron - Step walking counts double in my book.

The Watp dvd I bought is pretty challenging (4 mile express) so I'd say sure it counts.

It's January 3 and I've walked 12 miles. Since my january mileage goal is 50 miles, I'm well on the way. As long as this warm spell keeps up, I'll keep up. But when that cold weather sets in, it's hello Leslie Sansone.

Hi fellow walkers
It's raining with falling temps...we will most likely get an icing tonight of anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 inch....aacckk! I hate ice storms!..aacckkk again!
Anyhoo...I did the WATP 1 mile What can I say...I did it. I think I might do the 1 mile tape one or two more times, then move on to the two mile tape. I popped the 2 mile one in the vcr and watched a little of it...some of those ladies were sweating pretty good, so I KNOW I will too...LOL. I do soooooo love to walk outside more than anything, but it's always good to have a *plan B*, and that's what WATP will be for me

Happy trails....be they inside or out!
