90 minutes at the gym today...cardio intervals mixed with weight training. And I was finally able to decrease my mile run (that I do after my weight trainiing session) from 10 minutes to 9 minutes and 31 seconds. And I felt energized afterwards!

Sleep kept me in bed this am, so tomorrow is water aerobics, and water volleyball, and then on sunday another hour of swimming, etc.
still havn't gotten the tapes out and watched them to see which one i want to use.
maybe will have time this weekend to do that.

Swam 1200 yards tonight--took almost 45 minutes---I had no energy, the kids today just sapped me...the behavior today was horrendous!

1200 yards in record time today for me--31 minutes...but it takes me almost an hour to swim a mile...must be a mentality thing...I think about it instead of just swimming it! When I do a mile I plan it and make sure I have a full hour so it may be pacing too...I am not trying to get it done in a good time, I am taking my time swimming pretty slowly to make sure I am not totally dead afterward...knowing I have to drive home and fix dinner after.

Four hours of dance today, and 5, yes five, minutes on the arc trainer at the gym. Boy, that machine is so much harder than it looks!

I knnow what you mean carrie about exercise being an emotional lifting experience. When I used to run, before knee and ankle problems, the first 20 minutes I figured was for my heart, the second 20 for my mind, and the 3rd 20 was for my soul.
Anyway, did some ab work this AM crunches and leg lifts, pushups, crushes, curls and military presses. I could use a good cardio w/o to add in, but I'm not a big fan of those home (time machine) treadmill type things. And I'm too cheap to join a club. When the snow melts and the weather warms up, I'll try to get some miles in on the bike, if my wrist can handle it. Dang, sucks gettin old!

gregg, i like that - splitting up the workout for your body, mind and soul!! cool!
today (sunday): 60 mins cario (running, biking, jump rope), lifted biceps (about 16 sets!), and 30 push-ups. felt GREAT. and now i'm totally beat - going to watch some football and have some beers. am looking more forward to beer and snacks, than the actual game. heehee.

Started a cardio mini-circuit today - 6 minutes on the elliptical, 6 on the bike, and 6 on the treadmill.

I'm going to work on adding to the time of each machine this week.

yes gregg, when i work a muscle group, i really go hard! i usually devote one day to each of the following: triceps, biceps, shoulders, back, chest, and legs. usually about 15-20 sets of 8-15 reps w/ varying weight. i often do super sets. and i do a variety of different lifts/exercises for each muscle group.
for example, i do preacher curls, super set dumbbell curls, straight bar curls, pulley curls, etc, for biceps. til i fatigue the muscles!!

Holy Moley Carrie! My elbow hurts just thinking about all those curls. Sounds like an awesome w/o. You must be in tremendous shape these days! I hope you allow a day for rest in there somewhere. No wonder you were beat yesterday.

hi all!
i am really pleased that we have picked up some new exercise friends, now that we moved this thread from the challenge forum! good idea.
well, i am really excited about something today ... i ran 3 miles in 30 minutes!!! i am very proud b/c, as i may have mentioned before, i do NOT typically like to run ... so this is an accomplishment for me. one of my new year's resolutions is to add more running to my workout mix.
ok, so 30 mins running, 30 mins bike, lifted triceps (about 15 sets).
gregg, yes i definitely rest! i feel like i am just about in the best shape of my life. of course, there are ALWAYS areas we want to change, no matter what we see in the mirror, right? also, i am not entirely LC anymore - so exercise is my primary form of diet/weight control, etc.

Swam 1200 yards today--did gymnastics all day with the students...I demonstrated 5X today on things like cartwheels, backward rolls, handstands and forward rolls and several other things too! It is so much fun to teach gymnastics...only drawback is that today I ate everything not nailed down again...
