Swam 1200 yards today..can tell I haven't done it regularly this week...only 3X so far and I usually do at least 5. I was dying after about 10 laps or 500 yards!

Swam a full mile today...seemed to take fore ver but in reality it didn't...only about 50 minutes! I was just so sluggish from the food choices the past couple of days...I am a bit sore as well...but it is a good sore!

sun: 70 minutes cardio, but no running. lifted legs - inner/outer thigh, squats and lunges, quad extensions, hamstring curls, dead lifts, calves, butt blasters.

i was really thinking my legs would hurt when i lifted legs today ... but they didn't!! so why would my femur bone/thigh area be hurting so much when i run, but not when i lift?? does this mean it's skeletal, not muscular?

Carrie, running is just one of those things that hard for a lot of us to do. The pounding takes it's toll on my knees ankles and feet. I would say it's maybe a structural thing made worse by the pounding. I remember when I used to run a lot, I read a book by Jim Fixx called the Joy of Running. He sais the muscles are the fastest organ to adapt to a new activity like running. But the bones joints and ligaments are much slower to come around. With the weight work you do your muscles are prolly WAY ahead of your joints to adapting to running.
Anyway for me.....yesterday did weights and abs. today walked 6 and hit a few tennis balls. Walking is about the only fat burner I can do these days see above re running.

CArrie...running and women don't mix well...we have the wrong hip structure...we can adapt and get used to it...but it takes a long time...good shoes with correct stride can help...I have yet to be able to run comfortably for more than a few days in a row since I started losing weight...I need to try again...almost 20 lbs ago when I tried last...178 was my last attempt so now at 158 I think I may try again this spring a time or two and see if I can yet...post babies may make it more difficult though too...hip structure widens further...thus making the stride harder to maintain and keep in the correct form. stick with other forms of cardio if running doesn't work...and switch to power walking...much easier on the legs and just as effective at fat burning.

Walked 2 miles climbed a 12 foot ladder 15X and swam 1000 yards...after that we may stop at the batting cages and hit a few balls...up to DD and whether her homework gets done or not. We skipped the cages tonight...maybe tomorrow...DD needed to be in bed early...very grouchy!

Did abs and weights and played a couple sets of tennis. Tweaked my knee a little and it's kinda sore right now.
Keep it up people!

Walked 2 miles, pitched two games of bucketball and swam 600 yards...wanted to do 800, but I was just way way too tired to even finish the 800 so I stipped and got out...then we went car shopping...go figure...more walking...I have no idea how far I actually walked today...
