Default May Exercise Accountability

swam this morning 1/2 mile and did about 20 min of water aerobics/toning
(saturday water aerobics and water volley ball)

Thought I would start this thread, any one having trouble getting in and keeping to their exercise routine come on and keep track here.

Tomorrow we start tues/thur lunch jazzercise at work, kind of excited.
that will add 2 extra hours of exercise to the 7 I already do....
vacation in one month, so hopefully this will help me get in better shape for
that...
hows everyone doing this morning.

Default Hi, Carolyn

I'm not a "regular" here, but thought I'd chime in. I'm a regular exerciser, however, and will happily provide a motivating voice, if that's the way it works.

This morning I did two segments of Tamilee's I Want That Body DVD--Arms and Buns. Planning to walk during the day, and perhaps cue up one of Leslie Sansone's short walk workouts when I get home this evening.

I'm trying to do more cardio these days, partly for the calorie burn, and partly to get in better shape for a 5K I signed up for in June. That means including a couple of jogging days in my weekly schedule as well. Doing fine so far.

Have a great week!

Thanks for starting the thread Carolyn, that's really cool that your work is having jazzercize!

Barb good to see you checkin in! Motivating voices are welcomed and even encouraged! How cool that you signed up for a 5K. Have you ever done one before?

Did abs and weights today, and since it's my first post of the new month, I'll include what that actually means. After some good stretching (and coffee drinking) 100 crunches X 2; 3 sets knee ups (lower abs) 40, 35, 25; 3 sets delt raises, sides; 3 sets front; 3-4 sets bent over reverse flys; 4 sets of bicep curls; 3-4 sets shoulder press; 4-5 sets dumbell bench press; 3 sets pushups; 2 sets bent over rows. Takes about 80 minutes.
Yesterday played tennis for a little more than hour. Elbow and knee feel good!

Hey all! Well good to hear that your knee feels good Gregg! Just take it easy....blah blah blah...you know the speech

Today was a good day! Went to the gym, ran for 15 minutes, elliptical trainer for another 20 minutes, lower body workout, quads, hams, adductors, abductors, abdominal (all of them! hhhehehe)... Tomorrow 30 minutes of cardio plus upper body. I'm back at it!

Tonight we're out to dinner with the family for JockoSporto's bday...so I am going to be good!

Later skaters!

Yes Carrie I do my routine with dumbells and a bench at home. My time is pretty limited so I'm glad to get it in at home before work!

Default wow!

I can see that you guys are way ahead of the "government guidelines." I'm happy to claim consistency, but the days of 60-90 minute workouts are over for me. Sometimes I manage a "two-fer" day, morning plus noontime or evening.

The last 5K I ran was the Run for the Rhinos, through the KC Zoo last fall. That was really fun--and the rhinos were amused. I came in 9th in my age group (I think there were only 10 entered) and got a lucite rhinoceros for my trouble. Slow is not an obstacle if the competition is slower.

My claim to fame in running is completing the first Kansas City Marathon--all 26 miles 385 yards--in 4:17. That was back in 1979, and never repeated. You only have to run one to say you did it.

I'm much gentler on myself now, but in the best shape ever, all things considered.
