Just back from Curves - had an excellent run at it this morning - my breathing was MUCH improved. I've been buying a fresh ginger and carrot juice in town before I go to Curves too - its been great. This is part of my 'lowering the fruit intake' agenda. I eat too much fruit - so I've been replacing the surplus fruits with veggies - a better bet methinks!

Had a great workout at Curves today. This is the first day since I began the program that I could breathe properly! Thank heavens!

I posted this a few days ago, but posted it on the August thread I just joined curves Sept. 6th, today I did my 12th workout. I really like it. It is close to my house which makes it work for me. I think you can work the machine hard. Some people go though the motions and some people work the machines hard. I think it depends on what shape you are in, your age and level of motivation. I really like the circuit idea, as it gets you pulse up and it is weight training at the same time. I have been doing atkins since about mid-July and have not been able to lose any weight! So I'm hoping that curves makes the difference! We shall see what the results are on Oct. 6th, when I weigh and get measured for the first time; I've promised my self no weighing until then! Brenda

I did five work outs this past week and 5 the week before. I want to keep it at 5 to 6 workouts per week as I have been on atkins since mid-July and have not been about to lose weight. I hope this makes the difference. I love curves, it feels so good to workout and it is my hope after the frustration on dieting without losing that things will change. I'm staying off the scale until my one month weigh in, which will be on Oct. 6th.

Hi Brenda - so pleased you jumped up to September! Sounds as if you are enjoying Curves. I went in today as well. The girls were astounded last week when I said I had lost 100 > lbs - so I took my before photo to prove it - problem was - they weren't sure it was me! O well - flattering I suppose!

Beach, So impressed 100 lbs. and I'm having trouble getting off another 10 or 15 for a total of 35. You look fabulous. I live in a very small community and we don't have Curves. I work out at the local fitness center sponsored by our small hospital. I do the eliptical, treadmill and weights.

Ok Foxy, Tomorrow is the day I get back into exercise.....one more day of the meatfast to get rid of cravings then onto Curves!! I can't begin to describe the stiffness I feel being away from exercise over a month....but I think my knee is as well as it will ever get!

Brenda - glad you are enjoying Curves Bert - all of those activities are great. I went to the local gym for a year before getting our home gym, used that for a year or so - and now I've found Curves -all just as good I'm sure. Junie - o well done getting back to Curves! Especially with the bad knee. Although the exercise can be painful - I do think the stiffness is worse. I do about 30 minutes stretch-a-robics - which I find really useful for stiffness. I missed Curves yesterday - did stretches instead and ab crunches - but will go tomorrow.

My results from my first month of curves. Along with extended induction. I gained 1.5 pounds, bust-0.75 inches, waist -1.00 inches, abdomen -0.25 inches, hips +0.50 inches, Thighs -1.00 inches and body fat % -0.40% I wish I was losing weight, I have been on atkins for three months and have not really lost any weight. But I am happy for the lost inches. I just keep hoping the weight loss will come. I really like atkins and don't want to have to go back to weight watchers unless I have to. Brenda

I've heard others say this has happened Brenda - lost inches - not showing on scales. Well done - because you HAVE lost size! Scales are not the be all and end all anyway and in my experience - too much trust and hope put in scale numbers can end in tears before bedtime!! Your results are slow and steady and you are firming your body at the same time. Just keep working at it. It took me ages to 'sculpt' the body properly to my original shape - but it was worth the effort! I'm off to Curves now. The newsletter here is out - with my pics larger than life on them - :o I've had to write a CD ROM for the computer in there - requests for how I did it. O well - good to be able to help people. If my WOE is useful to anyone there - I'm pleased.
