Hey, thanks guys. Do you think WalMart would have something like that? We're going into town next Wednesday after work and I think WalMart is the only store that would be open then.

I headed out for my walk last night and could smell the rain coming. I wasn't even a block away from home when it started, but I was sure it wouldn't last long. I stayed under an awning hoping for it to slow down a little. When it did, I started out again and this time I got soaked cause there was no more cover. Guess I should have just gone home. But, ya know, it just felt so good. My hair was blown all over the place and my shirt was stuck to me, and I'm sure people thought I was nuts, but after all the heat, it felt so damned good. When I got home, I got the dogs and took them out too! Just felt so good when I got home, but that was crushed when I realized I still had laundry to do and lunches to make. A woman's work is never done!!

When I got home from work last night dh said to me "I have something for you". Then he handed me a pedometer. He went to Radio Shack....never even thought of going there. Anyway, this thing has all the bells and whistles....talks to you, plays music while you walk etc. I couldn't wait to try it out. So I set out last night on my usual walk and when I was finished I'd logged in 3059 steps. Stupid thing doesn't tell you how many miles it is though!! But dh, came through and figured it out and made me a little chart. So...I did 1 1/4 miles last night. Sure felt like about 3 miles to me. Guess I'll just have to do a little extra each time until I get up there. Geez, Shelley, how in the heck do you do 2 and 3 miles a day? Just what I did was a complete circle of our whole downtown...lol. It is paying off though...I feel so much more toned and the scale is dropping. 155 today.

Congrats on your pedometer tiashanty! What a great dh you have . How much steps have you gotten in today? I try to beat my day before. I've been sick, taking it slow and have gotten in only 9,000 steps today. There was a day I got in 30,000 steps once. Usual week days were as much as 20,000 during the school year since I walk ds to school. Anyways, hoping to get to 12,000 by tonight since I've got some garage sale work that has to be finished tonight. Just running around, cleaning the house before bed puts in steps for me. I like the house organized for the next day. Plus dh can relax when he gets home tonight. Poor guy works until 11pm tonight.

I never thought of wearing my pedometer all day to see how many steps I take. Just put it on for my nightime walk. I'm doing around 4800 steps now at night, which dh says is about 2 1/2 miles. I missed last night cause we went to town, but I'm sure I did a few steps while shopping in WalMart. Tonight is another night!

I only managed 1 1/2 miles last night, but that's okay. After cutting the grass, doing laundry and packing the motorhome, I was lucky to get that it before dark. The old fellow down the street was waiting for me for our nightly talk. I hate to stop, but he likes to talk so we had a bit of a chat before I carried on. Tonight it's off to camp for the weekend with the ballteam...always a good time.

Finally got to walk last night. Man...was it hot. I was so greatful for my water bottle. I passed a lady on the bridge who had forgotten hers and she was really paying for it. I managed 5085 steps last night. The most so far. When I get home...dh is always sitting on the front porch with the dogs at his side. He told me that I'm not even out the gate when the dogs jump on him and try to look out the window to see where I go. They won't leave him alone until he goes and sits on the porch so they can look for me. Ruins his nap time! So, I told him to take the reclining lawn chair and put it in the frontyard so he can nap while the dogs wait patiently for me. lol It's cooler today so I'm going to try and top my steps done so far. My pants are definitely getting looser around the waist.

You guys are doing great!

Today I did 30 minutes. I was so tired when I was finished that I took a 3 1/2 hour nap. I'm still groggy. Will have to drive to my appointments for awhile stay. May try this again next Tuesday and see how it goes. Will get back into this slowly.

Last night was a little cooler so I managed 5800 steps (almost 2 1/2 miles). It's getting darker earlier now so I was nearing home when it was dark. I'll have to rearrange my schedule so I can still walk when it's light. Feeling it today in my hips and knees...maybe I'm adding distance too quickly. Last night was my first walk using a walkman. Loved walking to the oldies! Time sure went by fast.
