Great job on that walking Shelley!

We haven't gotten a definite yes but the Habitat lady will call us next week to let us know. She is confident and says there should be nothing else to do and she can't see why we wouldn't qualify. With a zero balance in things owed I'm thinking positive!

Wind chills here 25 mph but we may try to bike ride to Grandparents to get Jay's bike seat adjusted. He's grown so much since last year that it looks hard to peddle - lol.

Got up early and did 30 minutes weight training, will do 30 more with DH tonight and then elliptical 1 hour.

Tomorrow is rest day!

Hey!! I'm walking at least an hour myself on my treadmill....at least until I reach a lovely 20,000 steps for the day on my pedometer. It's suppose to snow tomorrow after it was 79 degrees today. It was so nice out but very windy. Did get the kids out to play a little. Hope this is our last snow.

I had some weird visual disturbances going on today, with a low intensity headache, probably a form of migraine(I've never been *officially* diagnosed), and it was windier than all get out....ack...sooooo....I didn't walk. I hate taking exercise day offs so close, but I did.
Hope tomorrow will be a better day; it still will be windy, but if I don't have a headache, I'll hoof it anyway!

happy trails.......

Hi! Mind if I jump in here? I like have a place to be accountable for my workouts!

My workouts consist of weights, kettlebells, crunches and IMT (integrated movement training - very short workout) 3x a week. For cardio, I bike ride indoors and outdoors.

I recently found out I have severe osteoarthritis in my right knee and yesterday I had to have a shot in my knee. I'll have to have a total replacement in 5-6 years if I can wait that long.

I have the ok to walk some but mostly just on the treadmill rather than outdoors. I sure do miss it but need to take care of my knee! The dr. wants me to stick with biking for 90% of my cardio.

I do my indoor biking on a regular bike on a training stand so I don't lose the "feel" of sitting on a bike seat. I do mostly outdoor biking from the end of April to mid November as weather permits. Most of my rides average about 20-25 miles a day with longer rides on the weekends when DH has time to go with me! The longest last year was 64 miles! Not bad for an old, fat chick!

Today is a muscle day so I'll be doing the weights and crunches. I'm jsut doing the basics today because of the knee and because I had a tooth removed the other day and although I can go ahead and get back to my workouts, I want to wait till Monday because I'm going to heavier weights on some parts of the workout and it's easier for me to make workout changes on Mondays....

Welcome, mamagiff, to the exercise thread!
Glad you are joining us!

I also bike, and am waiting for our weather to *behave* before I get started for the season. I have recently gone back to fitness walking after a 2 year hiatus(not of my own choosing!) due to a very resistent case of plantar fasciitis. It was during that time, specifically, last spring, I took up biking. Then, in October, an elderly driver backed out in front of me(without looking) and when I braked extra hard to keep from getting splattered, I was rewarded with a herniated lumbar disc! ack!!!
So....injuries often prevent us from doing exercise, but when we are determined, we can find ways around it, eh? LOL!
And, I'm NOT going to even think about admitting it's *age related*....har!

Anyway...check in when you can...and again...glad to have you with us here, STBO!!(Sweating The Big One)

back later to report my mileage...

happy trails....

ok...got my walk in. Had to dodge the garage-salers; this is the weekend of the total neighborhood garage sale. It's a bi-annual thing; always advertised and brings in lots of folks. I've never had a garage sale here, but helped my friend across the street before she moved several years ago.
Anyhoo...I digress....

walked 50min/3.26 miles/276 cal burn/avgsp 3.30mph...STBO!!!!

happy trails.......

I just finished my weights workout. Nice to be done earlier than usual! I tend to put it off till right before dinner but today I have to leave right after dinner to go to the airport to pick up DH. He's been out of town all week.

Shelley, I've had bouts of plantar fasciitis since the early 90's. Back then it was really bad but it's been a while now since I've had any problems with it. I've ben very lucky not to have any accidents with the bike but I did run over a live squirrel a couple summers ago! I saw it crossing the street and I was going about 17 mph. I didn't want to crash and I really thought that the little guy would either change course or stop but he didn't so I went right over him! He kept running!

My SIL lives in a subdivision that is having their annual rummage sale next week and I've got quite a few items in it! They usually do quite well.

I guess I better go clean up a bit....
