Last night was 1.5 miles at 3.7 mph...for 35 minutes. I wanted to complete the challenge for 55 minutes but my knees and hips were aching and my legs weren't feeling really strong. I think I may have overdone it a bit. Problem is that my mind doesn't feel as old as my body!! I'll rest for a day or so and then get back at it.

Hi Lisa! I'm fairly new here, too! I just come in and post every time I do a workout. I had surgery yesterday so my workouts for the next few weeks will be lighter than normal but I've got to keep moving!

I did a half hour on the indoor bike today. I kept it at a slower than normal pace but I got a good workout! Felt good to be moving instead of just sitting in the recliner!

Hi Lisa,
Welcome to the exercise accountability thread!
We're extremely easy to get along with in this thread...LOL!
Just post your daily activity, how long you did it, and anything else like ie:
good workout, increased time or distance or weights etc.

I usually list my walk: mins I walked/distance/calorie burn.
Whatever you want to share about your exercise...we're cool with anything!

Today was exercise day off for me; had back and leg spasms again, and this time they have persisted all day. I'm totally BUMMED out about this because my only option is to now have an MRI of the L-spine and see exactly what disc is bulging and try to fix it...which would most likely mean back surgery, and I'm sooooo NOT ready to go there! Blech!!!!
anyway.......

happy trails......

Welcome Lisa R! If I could change the world I would start with attaching a pedometer on each person - lol. It's my favorite tool to show me how I'm doing.

Today I did an hour on the elliptical, short walk to the grocery store with the kids and lots of housework.

Today's pedometer total = 28,485...

I walked for 45 minutes this morning-my flat fat feet aching with every step. I like how I feel after I finish my walk though-more alert. I just dug out my old pedometer and am going to start counting my steps. I know that, outside of my 5-6x/week walk, I don't get much exercise in-I work at home and am on the computer all day. Hey-can I count how much exercise my fingers get on the keyboard all day?

No exercise last night except shivering watching dh play ball. Tonight it's watching the grandsons play. I'll walk the dogs when we get home and maybe get on the treadmill...depends on how much time I have once we get home. Have to start filling the motorhome for this weekend.

Kitty Re: May 08 exercise!

OK.....back/leg pain was some better this morning. Not constant like it was, soooo....I did a very slow & careful walk; didn't really break a sweat, but at least I was in motion and burned a few calories. har!
walked: 58 min/3.05 miles/171 cal burn/avgsp 3.09mph(very slow for me!)

Hoping to be back to full speed tomorrow; then I will work Friday.

happy trails.......

I just saw this weight/height chart and I realize that I wouldn't need to watch my food intake or exercise at all if I was 6 foot 7 inches! Where's the rack?

I did a half hour on the indoor bike - a little bit faster than yesterday. I didn't realize how hard it would be for me to do it slower! I normally average about17-18 mph on the indoor bike and I am trying to keep it at 15 mph or lower. It's hard because I automatically try to speed up!

I also got the light hand weights out and a dvd that has a 5 minute upper body workout and did that. I'll need to do several rounds of it with a little bit heavier weight unless I go through my dvds and find one that has more upper body stuff. Some of them have upper body combined with lunges and I can't do those right now. I guess I can get creative if I need to!

Time to go get my shower - the first full shower since the surgery! Yay!!!!

Was out the door at 6am and did an hour walk-have my pedometer on and will count the steps that I take all day. Of course I'm now making extra trips around the house to up the step count which is a good thing as I'm on a deadline today and will find it difficult to get away from the computer.
