I was able to squeeze in a 14.18 mile bike ride between the bouts of rain we've been having today! It was really windy the first half and I got sprinkled on the second half. I wanted to go a little farther but the skies looked dark so I headed home instead. Within 5 minutes of me getting in the house, the downpour started! I would have been soaked!

This was the first ride out on the county roads since my surgery and I didn't have any problems with the hills or wind, well other than the wind was really holding me back! Can't wait till I can get out for my regular, longer rides!

Wow Linda that is great even with the rain about . I simply did a 30minute walk on the treadmill. I am thinking of joing a beginner cycling class at the gym but I am sort of a chicken at starting new things and it starts on Monday any ideas on how to talk myself through it.

Lisa,
Make yourself a list of pros and cons. If that doesn't work, list your goals on paper(immediate, near term, and long term); if exercise is in the immediate goal list, then I'd say you're ready to go for it! If, however, you are still not convinced, or ready, perhaps you can continue to exercise on your *own*, and join the next open spin class, and by then, maybe some of your bashfulness/shyness will have gone away! Above all, do what *feels* right for you!

Well, crum! I have a HUGE-A-MONGUS blister on my toe...dang! Sooooo....decided I'd better not walk this morning, so I biked instead. Better than not moving at all, eh?
Still slow and easy on the biking for me, and boy was it windy!!! Whew!!! All my downhill riding was INTO the wind...boo & hiss! LOL! So, no coasting this morning for this chick!!!

biked: 63 min/9.5 miles/337 cal burn

happy trails......
