Today I started the Curves smart program. First we go around to set up each machine to my work out level with my own personal card. After that I could start my workout and was it ever tough!! I thought I was doing my best but to keep the machines in green instead of orange(work harder)or red (not working very hard). Was a lot harder then I thought it was going to be. Then when we are done I go to the computer and it shows me how hard I worked. My worst machines are hip and triceps. I knew I was weak in this area so was quite impressed the machines knew this. I stayed an hour but got in a sporadic workout because of setting up the machines and still managed to burn 493 calories the computer said. Can't wait to see how I do on Friday!

Mamagiff - Hope you don't have to wait to many days before seeing a doctor for your knee. How is it feeling today? It's good to hear that you are able to bike at least.
-
Shelley - How is your back doing? / Great job on those steps!!

I went to the fitness center today and did weights, recumbent bike and the cross trainer. My knee is somewhat better but I think it feels better if I keep active rather than staying off of it. It hurt more yesterday from sitting most of the day than it does today. My biggest problem is trying to do any stairs so I avoid them as much as possible. Luckily there are only 2 stairs to get into the house! I don't have to go to the basement for anything other than to watch a few shows I record down there so that can wait a few more days.

Heading out for a good walk/jog with Rita. Got a decent walk in yesterday late morning.

Hope to get to my dvd for strength training. But the chores are piling up.

Keep moving everyone.

Weights are done but I'm not sure if I'll do much of anything else today. Lots of chores to get done instead! I would love to get a bike ride but it's too windy today.

Thursday I managed over 10,000 steps from chores and errands. Today I did 30 minutes at curves (computer said I burned over 500 calories!), ran errands, got chores done and now am walking on my treadmill catching up with email. Looks about a 30,000 step day today!
-
Shelley - So glad to hear that your back is better and you've been able to get in some great amount of walking!
-
Linda - Wonderful your knee is better!! Great job on that exercise too!
-
LucyB - At least chores are something that gets you moving. I often believe a good majority of my calories burned is from exactly that.

Hi exercise gang!

I think everyone is doing GGGGGGREAT!!! KUTGW!!!
Every opportunity I have to fitness walk outdoors, I take it. Living in OOOOklahoma, the weather can sometimes get fickle this time of year. Since the holidays are coming up on us pretty fast(just 74 shopping days until Christmas! Yikes!!!), I really want to make it through the holiday eating season with minimal damage, so I'm going to try and get in 20 miles of fitness walking per week. OK...just thought I would put this in B&W so when I don't want to hoof it, I'll see this declaration glaring me in the face!! (The no-egg-on-face thing...)

soooooooo.....this morning, I walked: 83 min/ 5.10 miles/ 279 cal burn/ 10,781 fitness steps
fitness walking miles to date for October: 32.04

happy trails........

I got a half hour on the cross trainer and 20 minutes on the recumbent bike today. No outdoor biking due to the wind....I'll try tomorrow...

Walked 30 mins with my dog. Did 1/2 hr on elliptical. Also started cleaning up my vegeatable garden and found a bunch of gourds and a whopper kohlrabi. The morning glories are trying to take over....I could have used a machete. hee hee
