Doing exercises at the gym that will build up those two muscles should make you feel better. Just start out with really light weight for a month and do high reps. like 20-25 at a time.. Good luck.
Welcome and Thanks, but unfortunately I do have bone on bone issues....I'll be calling for an appt. this week to see what the next step is....

As for exercise today, I got a 45 minute ride this morning....very windy and cold but it was good to get out there! We head home today so I'll be sitting in the car for 4 hours later on....

Today I went to the fitness center with DH and DS and did 30 minutes on the cross trainer and 10 minutes on the recumbent bike...after lunch I went for a 15.44 mile bike ride and as soon as I get the kitchen cleaned up I'm going to do a kettlebell workout! Then I'm parking in the recliner with the laptop and remote control for the evening!

hi there - i don't know what's wrong specifically with your knee, but there are a few "knee-strengthening" exercises on websites out there - jsut google! - (i have sore knees too,a nd my physio-cousin says to plant feet on floor, then step up straight (don't hold a rail) up on to a step - this is mentioned in websites as well - with a better explanation

    take care,

Thanks, I've got severe osteoarthritis in my knee with bone rubbing on bone so strengthening exercises don't really help, unfortunately. I do what I can within my limitations but the only thing that will take the pain and problems away is a replacement. It's not too bad most days unless I walk or stand too much or do stairs. I can bike with no problems and I can do most weights exercises but I have to be very careful with leg exercises.

I'll be doing weights today as well as biking in the basement because it's extremely windy today. It's cold, too....in the 30's....I can ride in the cold but not with this wind!

    well...
it was raining cats and dogs when I got up this morning. The temperature has fallen 20 degrees since 0630, and we have strong(almost screaming!) winds out of the north.

Soooooooo....exercise day off for me unless this afternoon unexpectedly gets better...which is not predicted. sigh.

    happy trails....

I did 20 minutes on the cross trainer and 10 minutes on the recumbent bike this morning.....that's it for me today....my legs are really tired today so I won't do the planned kettlebell workout today.

Sorry I've been away for so long!! Have been working out curves 3x a week, construction work and working on having a couple of days off during the week to relax.

Today I weighed in at Curves and am down five pounds for the month. Been bad for a bit and gained back some I could have added to the total. Hope to have a loss each month until I get to goal again. Machines said I burned over 600 calories which is a record for me there. yeah!! I wondered why I was dripping so much.
    150 pounds gone!
