I am with you Shell!! Although with all the snow we have here it is going to be one muddy spring. Got my DH and my doggie out today for a 4 miler through the slightly melting woods.

Hi guys,
oh man, Lucy...I just bet you will have a very muddy spring once the big thaw begins!
Nicola...I'd say maybe just work on getting in 3 or 4 good days of exercise per week, then build on it from there.
I actually didn't walk all of last week due to a crummy sore throat and the ice storm.
I believe we sometimes don't give our bodies the proper rest when we're sick. I'm definitely NOT one of those folks who show up at the gym, or run 5 miles, with a 102 fever! That's nuts!!!

anyhoo...
walked today: 51 min/ 3.11 miles/ 172 cal burn
chinked and shoveled ICE off the driveway 2 hours for a nice calorie burn over 500! I'll take it!
total fitness miles walked for Feb=3.11

Not to worry Nicola, you will get back in the swing. I am so used to walking a dog or two(had them since 1988), I don't really think of it as a workout. Plus I like to be outdoors(well when it's above freezing HaHa). I am at the point that if I don't do something physical on a regular basis, I feel out of sorts. I think of it as my anti depressant.

However, Shelley, you are correct; sometimes it is time to take a rest until you feel better.

Well I am off to the woods with my fur girl.

still feel a bit *punk*....sore throat is just hanging in there...blah! I think possibly sinus drainage is the cause; may also be the cause of some intermitant nausea...ewwww!

soooooo.....didn't burn the pavement up, but got in a walk:
54 min/ 3.29 miles/ 183 cal burn
total fitness miles for Feb = 6.40 miles

I did just a light workout yesterday while DH did his weights routine.

Today was weights for me. I decided to change it up and do them circuit style instead of do 3 sets of each exercise before moving on to the next exercise. It worked well and I was able to use heavier weights doing it this way! When I got done, I did 20 minutes on the recumbent bike.

I can't believe it's Feb. already! Wish the rest of winter goes fast, too!

well...
I finally broke down and got started on some antibiotics for the sinus-throat thing. ugh!
I felt decidedly worse when I first got up this morning, then quite a bit better after having my coffee infusion...LOL! Gotta love that caffiene!!

walked: 58 min/ 3.56 miles/197 cal burn
total fitness miles walked for Feb = 9.96 miles

Shelley, Seems that bug is going around everywhere. I am just finally getting over it, (I hope) just hope it stays gone. I guess I shouldn't complain, at least I haven't had the flu.

Lucy, I hope you are right. Am sure going to try to get something accomplished.

Yesterday I didn't do a lot, I started on my stepper and then went to step aroebics, but about 15 min into that I got these leg cramps, had to stop. I got out the potasium, it usually helps. So I am going to try again tonight, if I get the cramps again then I will concentrate on my ab workouts.

Today was cardio for me....20 minutes each on the cross trainer and the bike. Very intense! I'm going to set up my rebounder (mini trampoline) in the livingroom now that the furniture is back in place and I'll start bouncing again in the evenings while I watch TV...gets me out of the recliner for a bit in the evening!

We're really cold here, too, Lucy! I'm ready for spring!

I did weights and recumbent bike today...it was a good workout. Doing the weights circuit style allows me to use heavier weights and I love that!

I didn 't get in a lot of exercise yesterday. I did walk on my breaks at work, yeah for that! At home I did about 20 minutes of step aroebics. Still some leg cramps but better then it was. Hopefully today will be a better day.

Well I was out today...the temp was...10 Ha ha!!! It didn't feel too bad but my face was pretty cold by the time the brisk walk was over. Supposed to get to the 30's later and the 40's this weekend. Maybe I should put all my little collectable snowmen and snowbabies away to speed up the warming process. I think I will get rid that cute little 'Let it Snow' sign I have out front too.

After 2 days of early morning Dr's appts and lab work, I hope to be back on my routine tomorrow.
My Dr. now thinks my sinus/throat mess is allergy related to cedar pollen. I guess that's better than chronic tonsillitis! Claritin is my best friend right now...LOL!...sniff...sniff...
