Talking My Biking Journal

I have decided to put up a biking challenge for myself. I still have to figure out how far places are that I would typically ride to and/or get an odometer for my I plan on getting out there today, since weather-wise it should be a good day for it. I have a helmet, front basket, back rack and two back side packs. Last week I rode to Aldi and actually went grocery shopping on my bike. WheW! It was tough. I exercise 3X/week at Curves, but it doesn't get those legs ready for pedaling. I'm using a whole different group of muscles than I normally do. So it might take me awhile to get into shape for it, but I'm determined.

I need a cheering section!
How 'bout it?

Have you used Mapmyride? I use it and it's great to keep track of rides!

No, never heard of it. Tell me more!

I was going to get out on my bike yesterday, but DH threw me a curve ball. He took my DD#2 with him to his mom's to do work in her yard and help move his brother to his new house. That left me having to watch my 3 y.o. DGD. So I didn't have an opportunity to go out riding. GRRRRrrrrr!

And today is my first day back at work (school) so I don't know if I will have the energy to go riding. I bought a bike odometer thingy yesterday, but don't know if I have it hooked up right. I'll have to at least go up and down my block to see after school today.

I WILL get this challenge off the ground eventually.

The Mapmyride site is just that....it lets you map the route you ride....if you'd like to look at my rides, here's the link....MapMyRide.com | Login

This will give you an idea of how the site works...just click on any of the links in the Name column and it will show you a route...most of the rides are variations of the same routes around the area. I haven't had a chance to ride much this season due to weather and other stuff so there aren't a lot of current rides listed.

Hope you're able to get out and bike soon!
