Really had to force myself to get out there and do it today, but I did. Had to stop and take a short breather at about the 7/10th of a mile point, and then went out to do the other 3/10ths.

Today was difficult, because my breathing was giving me grief, along with the humidity (we won't even talk about my morning backache). There wasn't a breath of air moving when I went out, and our humidity goes up at night. When I went back out, the sun was up, and the humidity was already down and there was a slight breeze, so I think maybe I should just wait an extra 45 minutes or so befor starting. Problem is, if I sit down and get comfy, I just won't do it.

So, with all the problems this morning, I am happy to have logged in:

1 mile

I am never going to enjoy exercising, but I am very satisfied with what I've been doing this week, even if it doesn't look like much. Now where did I put my Ommie (Omron Pedometer, which I love)?

Anne

Welcome Anne! Good to have another person in the group!

I've been slacking on posting...I did class 2 last Thursday of the boot camp....only one other person there besides me...almost like a private class with the trainer. He's not a tough guy...just wants us to move and challenge ourselves. If I can't finish the reps, he just says I'll do better next time. He's always asking how my knee is holding up and showing me adjustments to make if needed. The classes are $10 each and private sessions with him are $25 each so I'm getting a good deal!

The second class about killed me...I was so sore but it was good and I'm looking forward to the next class on Tuesday! He changed a few of the exercises so I'm thinking that each class will be a little different so we don't get used to doing the same thing. I also taught him a new way to use the step...he has me using it for cardio and I did it in a different way than he had seen (apparently he didn't do step classes!). He really liked what I did and said he'll be adding it to his list of exercises!

I took Friday off...too much stuff to do that day. Yesterday was heavy weights (my normal Friday workout). Another day off today but I've got a lot of chores to do so there will be movement.

Helloooooo! Kinda quiet in here! I did weights on Monday and boot camp class Tuesday. Today was weights again.....I'm going to discuss changing up my schedule of workouts because I think I need to count the boot camp as weights days and then add another weights day on the weekend....then switch cardio to my current weights days....

The class really works the muscles and I could barely do the weights today. So I'm thinking the muscles need some rest between the boot camp classes. Once the current session of the class is done (4 more weeks), he's taking a break for a couple of weeks and then starting the class again in Dec. I told him I'd be there!

Survived another boot camp class....talked with the trainer about the changes I want to make for my other work out days...he likes them and said it should work well.

Going away for the weekend....DH has his last weekend at the Military Academy (he's in National Guard and has been stationed there for the past few years) so I'm going along this time. There will be a ceremony for him and then we'll be going out for dinner on Sat. night to celebrate our upcoming wedding anniversary!

He will have a few meetings to attend so I'll be alone in the room a lot...bringing a yoga dvd to do there and the laptop. Should be a nice weekend! If it was better weather I would have planned to bring my bike but it's too cold...

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this forum. Exercise accountability is exactly what I need!!! I have the best intentions and then I never end up actually following through. I want to commit to exercising... I have a gym membership but I just never go, even though I do enjoy classes and they are available at good times for me. There's really no excuse!

I have a very full day tomorrow but I'd like to be accountable for working out on Monday...

I thought I had posted here after I got back....guess not!

Had a good weekend away...no workouts because my knee went out on Friday and although it was ok after a few hours, I didn't want to take any chances so I stayed in the recliner in the room with ice on my knee most of the weekend while DH was doing his military stuff.

Went for cardio yesterday...bike time at the gym and all went well.

Today I went for weights and after the first circuit I had trouble with my knee again so moved over to the bike in hopes of it being better and it's ok again other than a bit sore...so I'm in the recliner with an icepack on it....I'll take it easy today.

It's a random, unknown thing that causes it to go out so I don't know what to do to avoid it. I'll be making an appt. soon with the ortho dr. to see if anything can be done to get me through the next couple of months. I also need to talk to him about surgery after the first of the year....I can't keep going like this...it's aggravating to have to stop what I'm doing and sit for a while...

Went for some bike time at the gym today....split it between the recumbent and the upright bike to work the muscles a bit different.

Today is our wedding anniversary....37 years! Holy Cow! Where did the time go? So we went to the gym together!

Happy belated!! I hear ya on the Holy Cow! Me & mine have been *hitched* for 35 years.
I think we're a rare occurance in this day and time, eh?

yesterday: only got a 1 mile run before the drizzle got really heavy and COLD! Figured I didn't need a pneumonia since I'm starting back to work full time next week, so that was that.

today:
ran 20 min_ 1.65 miles
walked 5 min_ 0.25 miles[cool down lap]
for total of 25 min_1.90 miles
fitness miles for October = 26.78 miles

happy trails...

Thanks! We had a nice weekend...

No kidding! I think I only know a few couples that are still married to their first spouse!

I took the weekend off from exercising....knee bad again...calling tomorrow to see if I can get in soon and see what my options are. If surgery is called for, it will have to wait till after the first of the year...
