Say it loud, I exercised and I'm proud! This week, I've run Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and today. I got a weight workout in Tuesday, and I've been trying to do at least six BodyFlex breaths each morning. I haven't gone all the way through the instructional tape yet.

So what have you done this week?

"So what have you done this week?"

Is that a rhetorical question?

Let's see:

Sunday: I set up the Total Gym and did sufficient exercises to show the wife how to use it. Also did a few situps to sip my coffee while lying in bed watching TV.

Monday: walked to and from the car to get to work and home.

Tuesday: (see Monday). Did about 6 pull ups and a few other upper body things on the TG.

Wednesday: (see Monday). Contemplated whether or not I should start planning for that marathon I always talk about doing. Looked up a good training web site. It made me tired.

Hey, just about any exercise is better than no exercise! I'm planning on a half-marathon in August. Full marathons aren't really calling to me yet...well, they weren't until I was waiting near the finish line for a friend this November. I was just incredibly moved by the range of emotions and effort I saw from people coming down that last hill.

I used to (many years ago) run cross country. I love that feeling you get a few miles into a long run. Marathon running has been on my mind for years now. I'm not sure the knees will hold up any more. If/when I get back into it, I will probably work up from 5/10K's to 1/2 marathons, etc.

As an aside, I grew up in CA, but used to live in VA near Norfolk in my Navy days. I decided to keep up my running, and chose a time near dusk to run a few miles down near the ocean. That was when I learned what mosquito abatement programs are all about

I ran cross-country in high school, too! Also did track - 400s and 800s. I didn't place very often, but it beat the heck out of gym class. (If you were on a varsity team, you could skip gym). I am hopeless at team sports.

I had a chilly 28-minute run at lunch yesterday. I meant to do weights after work, but forgot an essential piece of clothing, so I got my strength training in by hauling out the Christmas tree. My apartment looks so forlorn without it...*sniff*

Oh, and I know what you mean about the mosquitoes - I went to Chincoteague this past August. Once I started running, I couldn't stop for a second because I would get carpeted with skeeters and black flies immediately.

But if you had the tree there all year, it wouldn't be special.

The only good thing I can say about the mosquitoes is that I kept a very good pace.

I must be a bit older than you. I ran the 440 and 880. Never was good enough to win on my own, but I was able to help our 4*440 relay team win a couple of races.

OK, now you've inspired me. I going to start running (actually walking for a while) today. Oh rats, it's raining. Maybe tomorrow

I lifted weights after work today. It was a planned day off running, which was just as well since it snowed all day. Raining, pfft! What sort of excuse is that?

I'm doing a lot of leg work, trying to rehab a nagging hip injury, so I'm definitely feeling abductors and adductors.

Ran 45 minutes this morning with the two people in the Saturday crew who were hardy enough to venture out in 20-degree weather. For Richmond, that's practically Arctic. Brrr.

Did the circuit for 40 min-- arms, abs, and legs
