this is cool! Our own little group

I'm doing well. Missed one day and had trouble with a couple others because of TOM. Boy, I was sad that I had to miss -- my back bothered me for the first time in 2 weeks!

I was able to do it nice and strong for the full 15 though this morning. I dropped the bloat I had acquired over the weekend -- I ran a carnival for our church then went to a banquet the next night. Didn't eat terrible, but certainly not perfect and SERIOUSLY not enough water. I'm back to where I was the last day I measured (2 days ago?) so I hope to show another loss tomorrow -- my "official" measure day.

I'm doing a cleansing thing (extra H2O, flax seeds and cod liver oil!) in the mornings and trying to up my water. I've got to see some downward movement!

This will be good to have a group here. I'm excited!

Blessings!

Week 2 measuring:

I lost 2 more inches this week. I'm pleased. I'm sure it could have been more, but I was unable to do it one day (and that day my back hurt for the first time in 2 weeks!) and was only able to do it half-heartedly a couple of others (TOM.) I also was not able to walk any days (hectic schedule! )

Lost:
1/4" neck
1/2" bust
1/2" upper abs
1/2" waist
1/4" thigh

That makes a total loss of 15 1/4" in two weeks

This week I hope/plan to walk daily ('cept Sunday) and I'm being more strict with my food. We'll see what happens. Also, gotta get my water/salt in!! I did great in all those respects the first week and lost tons. 2nd week only lost a little. I'm happy with it, but I know I can do better.

So, has anyone else actually started???

Blessings!

I had my first workout yesterday, playing along with the instructional video and then doing the "15-minute" tape. Some observations:

- this is downright bizarre, and definitely a solo activity! I was quite intense about it, and burst out laughing at myself a couple times. I did break a sweat, but never felt winded at all. In fact, I wanted to hold the no-breath stretches longer than Greer does in the video - is there any advantage to that?

- I had two eggs and a can of kipper snacks for breakfast yesterday, and started the workout 2.5 hours later...today I'll do the workout first (as suggested) - my stomach wasn't quite empty enough yesterday, and I think I could have tucked it in harder without the breakfast.

- I am actually sore today, in that good way that comes from working out. (I hate to admit to being sore from breathing, but I can really feel it!). I've done identical chin-lift moves for years, but would have to do MANY reps to get the tight feeling I have this morning after doing it FIVE times. And I can feel some tightness along my sides from three stretches in each direction...I have often done 50 reps per side and not felt a thing the next day.

- I felt energized during and after my workout, and had that smug post-workout feeling of accomplishment all day, that little self-satisfied swagger - love that.

- I may have trouble waiting a whole week to re-measure, as I feel a bit sleeker already. This is fun!

I suspect this is the type of thing that gives amazing results early on and then tapers off, so I'm thinking of this as my Body Flex "induction" phase. Sharron, your results are inspiring - hit the water hard the next couple days, and you may see another good drop.

Off to Pah now!

Day 4, and I have been feeling positive results since my first workout. I really think the breathing is beneficial, and my jeans are looser in the waist and hips already. I'm doing the 15-minute video once a day, but I have incorporated a couple extras - the instructional video includes a move that's not on the workout video, and the workout video has one that's not on the instructional video; I'm doing both, and a couple extra reps of the ones that hit my trouble spots.

Sharron, I read the post you linked about the possible FTC problems and tried to e-mail the poster, but got an "undeliverable" message. Just FYI. It sounds like that poster knows Greer Childers personally, but the info provided seems suspicious to me...it seems there are plenty of testimonials out there to prevent fraud charges based on the system not working. Maybe there's something else going on. In any event, it seems to be working just fine for me, and I don't feel the least bit defrauded!

Yes, Jacque knows Greer. She's even spent the night at her home before

Yea, apparently some woman started some rumors and has enough $$ to get a suit going. Yucky stuff...

I'm glad it is going well for you I don't feel well today, so was only able to do 10 minutes, but even that helps my back so much! I hope to do the rest later today.

I was able to email them. Possibly her box got too full??

Day 6 down, and all I can say is WOW! I can definitely see and feel a difference. I really feel invigorated - standing taller, feeling sleeker. I'm looking forward to seeing what the tape measure has to say on Monday.

Last night I wore a pair of jeans I've been avoiding lately because I felt kinda bulgy in them. I think they shrunk a bit in the seat while hanging in my closet (the humidity, I'm sure). Last night they were perfectly comfortable - just right in the rear, and noticeably flatter in the belly - YAY!

I weighed light this morning too (141), although the scale doesn't interest me much these days. On the Atkins plan my weight came right down to normal and has stayed there, but I've been feeling soft and pudgy the last few months. The intensity with which I've been doing the Body Flex routine has made me realize what I slacker I've become with my usual routine. This is really changing things up for me, and I'm seeing some nice improvements!

I'm excited to hear your measurements too!!!

I have not done as well this week as I'd hoped. I missed today, and boy did I feel it. Even if it weren't for the fact that I'm getting firmer and losing inches, I'd do it just for my back's sake!

I'm looking forward to doing it again tomorrow, that's for sure!

This is too funny:

A topic of discussion on the Body Flex board is frequently "squishies and bubbles" -- as we discuss "rhino poop breath" here at LCE.

Apparently, when the body begins breaking down its own fat, it is discarded in the urine in the form of bubbles. One gal went into great detail about just how it works, but it is sufficient for me, at this point anyway, to know it is a valid phenomenon. I don't know if we experience it on LC alone -- we've never discussed it here as far as I am aware.

Also, part of that same process, they describe as the "squishies" -- when the fat in your body begins to break down, you see a temporary increase in cellulitis, then have a "woosh" as we would call it!

So, all last week, I had an increase in cellulitis. I wasn't sure if it was these "squishies" they talk about or if it was just cuz' I'd not had time for my normal walks. Then, last night I had the bubbles. I told dh about the phenomenon above and said that if it was correct, then I'm due for a woosh!

Dropped 3# and 2" last night! I feel like I'm gonna start "melting away"...

And, one of the gentlemen at my church who is LC'ing with his wife noticed that I'm losing again.

How are you other Body Flexers doing? Sky, did you measure????

Drum roll, please....

Well, okay, that may be a bit dramatic, but I'm very happy with the results from my first week. I lost a half inch off my waist, a half inch off my belly (lower waist?), a half inch off each thigh, one inch off my mid-hips, and 1.5 inches off my lower hips (seat), for a total of 4.5 inches. YAY!

Although I'm delighted with this, I actually was a little surprised it wasn't more, as I can feel a real difference in my clothes. Also, the scale is down 3 pounds (141) - if it stays there thru the week, I'm going to go ahead and claim it. Bonus!

Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to seeing what week 2 brings, as I increase to twice a day. My challenge is going to be finding a time besides first thing in the morning when I've got an empty stomach....I eat a lot, and generally graze all day long. I don't think it will work very well for me to do it at bedtime, but I'll give it a try and make whatever adjustments are needed to get in two workouts a day. Maybe I'll make the second one less intense for this first week and see how I do without having a completely empty stomach.

And I have one more improvement to report - my lung power! Dang, am I gonna be belting out the Christmas carols this year - FA LA LA LAAAAAH!

Shrinky~

Yeah, 4.5 inches after one week, 7 times through the 15-minute tape. That's enough to make a real difference in the way my jeans fit. It seems I've lost a few pounds too, after maintaining the same weight for almost a year. Ain't it grand? Sharron lost NINE inches her first week.

Body Flex is a method of inhaling and exhaling very deeply and then holding various positions for a few seconds. I got the two-video set (instructional tape plus the 15-minute workout) on ebay for about $8. Sharron uses the book. Bon is still looking for her tapes in some dusty drawer (you hear me, girl?).

I have always been a believer in isometric-type exercise, and this program seems to follow that philosphy - it emphasizes intensity and control, rather than a lot of jumping around. It does increase the heart rate, and I always break a sweat, although it doesn't claim to provide any cardiovascular benefit. I've seen an immediate increase in my lung power though, and my overall flexibility is improving, too.

I had been walking vigorously more days than not (still doing that) and lifting weights at home about 3 times a week, but I realize now how lackadaisical I was getting about the weights, just going through the motions really.
Trying this program has really inspired me. As I mentioned in a previous post, it would seem that there is probably a limit to the number of inches a body can trim in this manner, but so far so good!

That is so great, sky!!

I do have a ?? for you: Why are you going to 2x per week? It isn't recommended. This is supposed to be a "do it in 15 minutes" kinda thing. Did the video you got recommend it? I know there are several versions that she has done... Just curious
