| Sunday: Total: 1498 Fat: 102 62% Carbs: 29 6% Fiber: 7 Protein: 116 32% Judy, this bouncing has been going on since July. Maybe it's being so close to goal. Although, I know that I probably want to go a little lower than 135. Thought I would lower the carbs today and see that will help shed those extra pounds. I also started exercising again yesterday. I was exercising everyday. Don't think I am going to over do it this time. I may try for every other day. And a variety of things. So how has everyone's weekend gone? Elyssa 220/145/135 10 to go! |

| Hi everyone! Didn't track today, but was only up 2/10ths of a pound this morning. Today was a work day and I just got home. It's 7:38 pm, and I've been gone since 7:15 am! Sheesh! I did fine on lc until dessert at the dinner I just left. It was a buffet, and the dessert was just sitting there! Oh well. Tomorrow is another lunch out, but dinner in. I'll see how I did tomorrow morning. Had a hard time getting in all my water today. The buffet dinner was preceded by a LOOOOng meeting. I had taken a bottle of water, but got seated in the front row and felt funny about guzzling from my bottle in the front row. Rachel: Where are you? Judy: That weight is going to come off this week. I can feel it! Elyssa: You are right. You are close to goal. (So am I) It's supposed to come off slow, I guess. Peg 1/1/03 205/178/165 |

| Hi guys... I just finished typing a LONG reply and in my rush to post, hit something wrong and erased it. grrrrrrrr! Sorry I've been absent this weekend... long story - which I just lost. Elyssa, I totally understand the bouncing around thing. I bounced between 148-143 for six months or so (of course I was going through a couple of invitros - the hormones didn't help any) and then I suddenly went to 141 then a week later 138 and hovered there for a while. I think the body really has to be 'ready' to lose the weight - like we put it on actually - over periods of time. The exercise thing, too. I don't exercise much (no real routine, don't much like it, etc.) but when I do fall into it on occasion (walking) I find that my weight will INCREASE for a while then hold steady. I don't lose for some time after I start an exercise program - always a bit of a disincentive. I have learned that I have to be mentally ready to NOT lose weight for a while when I'm exercising. Thanks for checking on me Peg! This weekend was a total bust. DH and I are big entertainers (we love having people in, cocktails, dinners especially) and after not having a place to entertain for almost two years, then getting into this house and immediately goingon holiday... well, we made up for it this weekend and had lots of people in all three evenings. Needless to say I strayed quite badly and so did not track (potato chips, Hersey's kisses, Maya's special carrot cake, too much wine, too much cheese, too many almonds, rice with the sushi, not enough water by far, etc....) I am back on this Monday morning and am focused again (Mondays are the best - I find work weeks are MUCH easier to control). I am a consultant and have been hired for a few days on this project I love so I have a desk, a water bottle and lots to do to keep me away from the fridge, etc. Plus, DH is so good, he made us omelets this am with the leftover grilled veggies from last night. He loves it when I get back on lo carb and always does it with me. He also feels he needs to get healthy again after that indulgent trip to Bangkok and then Italy... very nice for me to have company. Judy, in response to your question... DH and I are international development consultants. He focuses on banking and finance and I do project administration, organizational development, strategic human resources management, etc... We are hired by companies who are managing development projects for donors like USAID, the World Bank, etc.. to actually implement those projects. Currently DH has a 3 year contract here in Georgia to serve as the Leasing Advisor to a large agricultural sector project. It is sort of complicated - but here is a link to the company in Washington DC that is running this project (for whom he works): http://www.acdivoca.org/acdivoca/acd...a?opendocument They don't have his project listed yet for Georgia because it is so new. ok dear ones... I am on a mission this week to get back into my size 8s without sucking wind to zipper them. ![]() [ by the way, this is my Fitday link.. http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJ...?Owner=RQQQPx2 ] Hugs, Rachel 165/138/128 Haec trutina errat. | Hi all: Just checking in. Don't really have much to say except that I'm here. I've been gone all day, and have been pretty much waterless. I can feel it. Had a sandwich for lunch (complete with BIG bun, and potato chips. They were the first for 10 months, and I enjoyed them!) I'm back to 178 even, after seeing 177.8 last week. Doing fitday today, and hopefully this week. It's going to be a hellish week with lots of stuff going all day and evening until Thurs. aft. But I will have access to the internet on my computer at work, so can check in. DH and I are fighting about me getting a new car. I think I need one (I commute 300 miles a week) My car (a Toyota Camry) has over 100,000. It's in okay condition, yada yada. Anyway, I'm a stress eater, so I'm praying that I won't do that. Luckily I don't have much in the house to cheat with. Peg 1/1/03 205/178/165 5'8" (hoping to make my goal by November and my 60th birthday) |

| Rachel, when I get more time I'm going back to read more on your DH's company. I teach HS economics (regular and AP levels). The theories really interest me. Glad you enjoyed the parties all weekend --- Hope you have a good week getting back on track. Peg, considering that you had a bun and potato chips, you are probably lucky that it didn't come out worse than it was. I'm really hoping that when I get past the losing process and get to the maintaining process that I'll be able to handle 75 or so carbs per day. Right now I'm not losing --- hummm, am I already maintaining??? One reason that my carbs are as so high each day is that I eat Blue Bunny 85 yogurt each morning. The full carb count on one container is 14 carbs. I count them at that level. I know that there is a theory that the carb count could be reduced by 1/2. | Rachel -- thanks for the great posts. Very interesting. My brother-in-law is in the State Department and just moved to Sophia, Bulgaria, so we hear lots of interesting things. He was supposed to go to Kiev. I think he's happy to be in Sophia. It is a challenge to eat well, but most people in the world eat better than we do because they eat so many fewer processed foods. I have lived in both France and Ireland. The food in France was much better, but even with the desserts, I ate less junk because there was very little available. Pegster: The "switch" hasn't quite gone on yet. It seems to be flicking on and off every few days or so! I ate terribly Saturday and Sunday. I won't even describe it. I did much better today. Hey Rachel, I know exactly what you mean about losing a long post. I did that a few weeks ago. Once you have written it all down, it's impossible to recreate. Frustrating, isn't it? Anyway, here are my numbers for today (better do it quick before I erase it!): Calories: 1637 Fat: 118 Carbs: 20 Fiber: 4 Net Carbs: 16 Protein: 113 Law1 Lowcarb since July 2001 296/211/150 |

I think to get some of this weight off and keep it off - that may be only way. I must be strict with myself. So, today is day 1. 220/145/135 10 to go! | Hi gang!! just checking in on a Tuesday afternoon Judy, the website I directed you to is the firm that has contracted with my DH for this particular position. My last position (in Jordan) was with this company: http://www.abtassoc.com Prior to that I worked for this company: and this company: http://www.dai.com I only give you these links because there are many firms in the DC area (and some around the country in other cities) that bid on international development work from donors like the World Bank and USAID. Too bad I'm not in East Texas, I'd love to come in and talk to your (especially AP) classes about international development and what it's all about... cool stuff (ok, I guess I'm biased). In any case, DH and I are independent - we are hired by anyone who needs our particular skills on their projects!! Law1... Sofia is supposed to be a GREAT post so I'm sure your DBIL has some good tales. In fact, my understanding is that Bulgaria is a lovely place anyway... cool! Peg: hang in there on the car thing.. and this is the best time to buy because it's getting closer to year end and the dealers want to get the 2003s off the lot. My brother who is just excellent at this kind of thing did the research, found what he wanted - figured out how much he could pay, sent faxes to all the Toyota dealers (they wanted a mini van) in Northern NJ... told them what he wanted and what he'd pay. The next day he had a deal - WAY lower than sticker. I can get the form letter he wrote if you are interested - or get to that point! Ok - here are Monday's numbers: Calories: 1533 Fat: 94 (56%) Carbs: 26-6 = 20 (5%) Protein: 130 (34%) A little too high on the calories - the mushroom cream sauce was a killer. I must get back to trimmer meals! ok, I'm off... today is looking a little better... Hugs, Rachel 165/138/128 Haec trutina errat. | Tuesday: Total: 1364 Fat: 90 63% Carbs: 15 3% Fiber: 7 Protein: 112 35% I started induction today, and yes I know the carbs are really low. I didn't eat all of my veggies today. Didn't feel like eating any for dinner. Actually, I was hungry and didn't take the time to cut up any lettuce. Already have my meals for tomorrow planned. Tomorrow is my long day, I have a night class. So, I have two meals ready to go and they include plenty of veggies. I even had 6 bottles of water today and no diet rite as a treat. That means lots of trips to the bathroom. 220/145/135 10 to go! |

| Boy it's great to have so many posting to our list again. I wonder what happened to Steve? He hasn't been around for a couple of weeks. | Hi all. I am too tired to track today. My son's birthday is tomorrow. He has bad food allergies, so I have had to make treats for school, daycare, home and family birthday party. I didn't eat any of it! That's the good news. I did eat well the last two days mainly because I have shocked myself. I can no longer deny how bad it has gotten. Yesterday morning, I weighed 226. That means I have gained 15 pounds since June!!! I somehow didn't go into shock when I had gained 10 pounds, but 15 is really out of control. So, I have really tried to get into my own mind and relax my anxieties. I have been eating without even thinking about it. So, I have been trying to take deep breaths and really focus before I start eating. It has worked for two days. I really need to keep it working. I cannot keep gaing and I must lose. I can't even fit into my clothes well anymore. Everything feels tight and I can't even wear some of my newer outfits. The only good news is that I weighed 224 after work this morning, so the two days of good eating helped. I promise I will track soon. I also will keep reporting in whether I have a good or a bad day so that I will stay honest. Thanks for listening everyone. It's great to have you all here. Law1 Lowcarb since July 2001 296/211/150 |
