Hello everyone.

Judy; Thanks for the remembering me. I am out here, but I have been so busy lately, I have had no time for the computer at all. We have recently opened two stores simultaneously, and since I am the main Operations Manager, I had to be in two places at once, training staff and the like. It has been quite a month. Fortunately, I was able to take a vacation after the training was finished, and we went on the Disney Cruise. We just got back Saturday night.

Rachel; it's great to hear from you again. It sounds like you have had a whirlwind last few weeks as well.

With the amount of hours I have been putting in lately, plus taking the cruise (what food!), I have not been as strict as I wanted to. With that being said, I am not too bad off; just up 5 LBS. I was expecting much more after vacation, but with all the extra activity, plus I did try to avoid most bad foods (I did have dessert every night; sooo goood!), I guess it could have been worse.

I'll be checking in more regularly, as things are settling down; for now anyway.

Gotta run, but it's great to be back 'home'.

Good night all.

Stay the Course.

Steve

Hi all... Law1, hang in there dearheart - you have taken the best first step by getting back to this WOE and you know what you need to do and are willing to do it... we all know what those times are like when you just can't fit one more piece of stimulous in your day!

Elyssa... awesome numbers for Wednesday (did I spell your name right?) - and you are so close after such a terrific loss - I am inspired every time I see your signature!

Steve... I MISSED YOU!!! How VERY cool to hear from you again - and I hear you on the just too busy to think, let alone eat right. I have been thrust back into the project I was on this summer - they call me back on in a panic when things are way past deadline and they need someone to save their butts. I LOVE this kind of work and my adrenaline glands are so efficient - but whew! I eat on the run and too much too late (all legal but too much).

Here are my numbers for Tuesday and Wednesday - carb levels are fine but my calories are out of control. For me that means I am eating back on plan (legally) but am having trouble saying no to that extra piece of pecorino or the extra glass of wine (or, gash darn it, those peanuts!! grrrr)... I'm still at 142, bounced up to 144 two days ago, but am back)

Tuesday:
Total: 1546
Fat: 120 (70%)
Carb: 25-3= 22 (6%)
Prot: 77 (20%)

Wednesday:
Total: 1732 (yikes!)
Fat: 110 (58%)
Carb: 38-12= 26 (6%)
Prot: 106 (25%)
Alcohol: 29 (12%) (another yikes! we brought lots of great red wines back from Italy - hard to resist!)

great to see everyone!

Hugs,
Rachel

Hey all! I echo Judy: it's good to see so many posting here. 7 pages!! That's fantastic!

I weighed 176.6 this morning. That's only 11 lbs from goal. I packed an lc lunch and just ate it with a piece of carrot cake (gone without even realizing what I was doing! There's a senior citizen lunch here on Thursdays and the dessert was on the counter when I went in to use the microwave! Sheesh!) Hopefully I can "flush" it out before it sticks to my hips!
My DH looked up and saw me dressing this morning and said spontaneously, "Wow! You have a great body!" Isn't that great? He is wonderful about noticing, but this was sort of a spontaneous "notice." It might be because I noticed too, huh?
Haven't tracked this week. Been really busy too.
Law1: Keep up the good work, my dear. You can do it. One of the things that I lov about this WOL is that you CAN notice a difference with just a day or two of being vigilant about food and water.
Steve: Great to hear from you again.
Rachel: Yeah, I would love to see the letter from your brother to car dealers. That sounds like my way to buy a car! DH and I are going to fight about it over the weekend.
Judy: Thanks for keeping up this thread. You are just great. Isn't it wonderful that we can be such good friends and be from all over the world??
Peace, Peg

Ok, this is totally unrelated to food, but,

DD just called and she is definitely graduating in May!. And, because she attended a state university and is graduating in four years, she is elgible for a $1000 tuition rebate. I think there may be a small pin of light at the end of the tunnel.

Bad Judy.... 2 days w/o out tracking. I've been eating fine, just no time to type it in. I've spent my typing time trying to finish a 250 question study packet. I am back to sig weight after my little detour last week. Thank goodness!

Steve, Good to see you back. Drop in even though you haven't tracked. Good luck working down that 5 lbs.

Hi Everyone.

I am still here. No time for tracking the last few days, but I am eating better (except for the piece of cake for my son's birthday!). I feel a little better. My clothes are really tight, so that is a great motivator for me.

I will try to post more over the weekend. Hang in there everyone!

Hi gang!

Thursday and Friday numbers:

10/23:
Calories: 1653 [still TOO high]
Fat: 140 (76%)
Carbs: 34-10= 24 (6%)
Protein: 68 (17%)

10/24
Calories: 1166 (MUCH BETTER )
Fat: 81 (65%)
Carbs: 28-12=16 (6%) - sort of low, though
Protein: 44 (16%)
Alcohol: 22 (14%) - red wine. my true downfall in life.

PEG!! 11 pounds from goal is just awesome - You-GO-Girl!! I dropped my brother an email about the car and this is what he wrote in response:

Hi Rach, there is more to it than just the fax. It is also when you send the fax and custom information about recent deals others have made on the same car. The information is available on http://www.fightingchance.com/index.asp. They provide all of the data about the car that you need and phone support as well. I believe it is only about $30 and it saved me a lot of hassle and money. They even have sample fax info in the package.

Good luck with that, though - new car purchases are getting easier and easier these days, it seems.

Judy, great news from your DD - these are amazing milestones, aren't they?! I have days in which I would give my right arm to have a houseful of kids (and have given that much in attempts) but I still marvel in the quotidian in those who do - congrats to you both!

Elyssa, you are getting very close to signature #s - I'll bet if you are focused this weekend that you get even closer!

Law1, I find that tight clothing is a very good motivator - that is so true...

Well buds... have a great weekend and do you best to stay focused - weekends are tough!

Hugs,
Rachel

Hi Everyone:
Didn't track today either. Party tonight. I hope that I can maintain with cheese and veggies!
Weighed in at 177 this morning. Carrot cake, no doubt!!
Saw my Dr. this morning and she is VERY pleased with how I look. She asked me if I really want to lose more weight. She said that at my age I could easily stay where I am and be just fine. I do want to lose more, but it was good to have permission not to. But, I think I'll just keep on doing it easily instead of stressing about it. Dr. was more concerned about me stressing about anything, and cautioned me about that. (Stress brings on Fibromyalgia flare, which I don't want. I've been pain free for a year!) She also prescribed Prednisone for a week to get rid of a persistent cough. (Reactive Airway Disease)
So far, I've been good about food today.
Rachel: I do so admire your abilities to eat this way in another country!
Judy: HOORAY, about DD. Having put five kids through college, I REALLY know how you feel.
Law1: Keep checking in. It's really good to hear from you.
Purplefrost: You keep checking in too. It's good to see you on this forum.

Oh Peg, watch out for cravings and possible weight gain with the Prednisone. It is notorious for causing problems. Be glad you only have to take it for a week. Hope you are better soon.

Rachel, I'm so sorry that all your efforts and expenses were unable to lead to a successful pregnancy. Every generation of my family has at least one childless family. I was lucky enough to have two really great kids. My son is 25 and my daughter is 21. So far, no spouses or grandkids (Besides, I'm sure I must be too young to be a grandmother ) They both do seem to have a fairly serious relatonship going, though. I have to admit, it was pretty shocking to realize that my baby will soon be graduating from college.

I got back to tracking today. From the looks of things, it's a good thing. The calories weren't too bad, but the carbs mounted up pretty quickly. I'll have to be more careful tomorrow.

Have a good weekend everyone -- Law, those clothes will be just right again soon. Elyssa, don't work too hard (yeah, right---I have tests and grading to do this weekend, too.)

Friday:
Calories:1318
Fat: 80 (56%)
Carbs: 84 - 17f=67 net (21%)--YIKES!
Protein: 76 (24%)

Thanks, Judy. My Doctor warned me about feeling hungry and eating. So far, so problem. However, I am feeling as spacy as a space alien. Finished my sermon early, I may just lay down for a while and let the room spin.

Didn't do too bad last night at the party. This morning I was still at 177. I was up twice during the night to pee, so I must have done something right. Didn't have any alcohol, just water and caffiene free diet coke. My stomach was upset from something.

So good to see you, Judy. I love your posts. They are so postivie. You are doing SO well on your weight. Congratulations!

Law1: Keep posting.
Peace, Peg

Rachel, I am trying to stay focused. And in fact, I am down to 147 as of this morning. I should be at sig sometime next week.

Peg, hope the party went well.

Judy, this weekend, I don't plan on doing much. Although, I do need to make up one test for next week. Next week I'll be grading plenty of tests, I am giving two and two will be turned in - I decided to give a take home for two of my classes. It should prove to be another busy week.

I guess all of this work lately has been good for me. I am only 2 pounds from sig weight now. Hopefully, this time I can get there and not go back up. I know I have plenty to do the next few weeks. Actually, I think I am going to be busy up until Thanksgiving, and then I'll have tests to grade over break. What am I thinking?!

Being in the workshop and meetings all day yesterday, I didn't really find the time to track. Trying to get that done today.

Hi all: I'm back and feeling better! Took a two hour nap this morning. Guess I needed it. I hope I can sleep tonight. I'm feeling much more "myself."

The munchies have struck big time, but so far, Ive stayed with lc. Actually, we don't have much else to eat in the house. Good thing!

I'm going to pack a lunch tonight so I won't be tempted by all those Dunkin' Donuts treats at the table at church tomorrow. I have to stay for a meeting, and then visit some folks. It will be a long day. But, then I'm off on Monday.

I'll check in tomorrow night. Peace to all!

Hi Everyone:

I have been in quite the deep funk since last Friday. I have been eating terribly. I have been extremely exhausted and not feeling very good about myself.

I really can't seem to pull out of this bad eating place. All of my bad eating happens in the evening. I need to find some strategies to stay out of the kitchen at night. I just start eating, usually low carb things and then keep on eating, graduating to higher carb items. I did this every night since Friday. This used to be my biggest downfall, but I broke out of it with lowcarb eating in 2001. I am regressing and very unhappy about it.

Pegster: did you feel this kind of desire to eat when you don't feel well with the Fibromyalgia? We have discussed that I may have that or something similar. I have been feeling really lousy -- I slept for six hours during the day on Sunday and I'm still tired! I really hate the idea of going to the doctor because they never take my complaints seriously or they say "let's wait longer and see." I know I should just get there and deal with it, but I hate having a doctor brush off my complaints, so I tend to wait until I am really, really sick before I go. The doc I went to 2 years ago for the heart palpitations was pretty dismissive. I don't feel like she ever really listened. I feel like my gynecologist listens well, but she's not the right person for these issues. Maybe I will call her to see if she can give me the name of a good internest. How did you find a good doctor, Pegster?

I think I will also bop over to the 100 forum. You are all really great, but no one on this forum has been as overweight as I was (and still am). I think I may need some tips from people who are dealing with losing over 100 pounds. It is so frustrating to have already lost 70 and still have so far to go.

Wow! What a pitty party I am having. I am sorry all, but I really need to put these negative feelings out there in order to deal with them. Thanks for letting me vent.
