Several of us have been tracking our daily intake of calories, fats, carbs, and protein since March or April. During the process we have found what seems to work for each of us. This challenge is posted in the Vet forum because we have reached a point where our needs and adjustments are different from the newbies. Please feel free to join in. Use whatever program works best for you. In the process, you too may find that accountability leads to a level and awareness to help you reach your goal.

Well, well, well, I guess you have to take the good with the bad. Today's good -- a new low, 142.5 ( I even changed my sig weight.) And then the bad....check these numbers . This is closer to two days calories than one. It's a pretty good guess that I was overly optimistic to think the weight will stay down when I eat like I did today.

Calories: 2033
Fat: 139 (62%)
Carbs:64-20f=44 (9%)
Protein: 146 (29%)

Great job, Judy!

Our computer has been on the blink, so I don't have much time, but wanted to report that I am here and I did track today.

Stats:

Calories: 1515
Fat grams: 84
Sat. fat: 32
Carbs: 55 (including sugar alcohols)
Fiber: 11
Net carbs: 44
Protein: 126

I gained yesterday because of eating white bread, but was back down tonight to 222. I hope I drop a bit tomorrow.

Here are my stats:

Calories: 1260
Fat: 74
Carbs: 69
Fiber: 13
Net Carbs: 56
Protein: 88

Somehow I managed to make it without a gain after yesterday's calorie binge. Still @ 142.5. Too bad that won't always happen.

Law, glad to see you making it in every day. Watch out for those demons white bread and french fries. But, even with the fries, your numbers weren't too bad. (I can't say much, I had a fried chicken breast for dinner.)

My #s for today:
Calories: 1331
Fat:88 (60%)
Carbs: 62 - 13f = 49 (15%)
Protein:85 (26%)

Happy Friday -- or as we have named it in the school challenge ABCD (Adult Beverage Comsumption Day)!

Law, I was finally reading part of Wednesday's Dallas paper this afternoon. There is a columnist named Betsy Flagler who writes parenting information. Her whole column was on children with severe food allergies. I've tried to search it out of the web for you, but apparently it isn't currently archived. If you would like I can scan it and send it to you as a .jpeg . The end of the article recommends www.foodallergy.com , a Yahoo group named POFAK (Parents of Food Alergic Kids), and the National Jewish Medical and Research Center at www.njc.org. There was a very good comment about the yahoo group. You can get to their group home at www.groups,yahoo.com. From that page you can search for the correct group.

My only slightly accurate numbers for today:
Calories:1392
Fat: 82 (55%)
Carbs:91 - 34f = 57net (17%)
Protein:98 (29%)

Semi correct counts again. I hate breaking down recipes, so I just throw in the closest thing that I can find on Fitday. I guess it's good enough... I've still been losing.

Steve, good to see you back again. Where is everybody else?

Calories: 1267
Fats:82 (59%)
Carbs: 28-7f = 21 (7%)
Protein:106 (34%)

I didn't think I ate much today, then I did my FitDay tracking. I guess that's why it's good to track, so you know. I missed tracking for a few days. I was out watching the Twins lose to the Yankees. I actually found sliced turkey at the ball park. I did, however, consume a few adult beverages yesterday, which add up.

I am going to try to be proud of myself just for the tracking right now and not beat myself up for not getting great numbers. One step at a time. . .

Here are my stats for today:

Calories: 1725
Fat: 102
Carbs: 59
Fiber: 34
Net carbs: 25
Protein: 135

Hey Judy: Congrats on the new low. And thanks for the links. I had never heard of them, I will check them out. It will be great to have some other parents to connect with.

Hi Gang! I'm here!!
Haven't been tracking in Diet Power, but have been eating LC. Yesterday I was down to 177.2 (a new again low). Today, up to 178.0. Pretty sure it was the four Dunkin Donut glazed donut holes I had at fellowship hour. That time is a killer for me!! Also, I didn't get in all my water because when I got home, I sat down to read the Globe and woke up two hours later!! As a result, I couldn't sleep last night, stayed up until 2:00 am, took some "sleep aids" (pills) and feel really sloooowwww this morning.
Eating my lc breakfast as I sit at my home computer, and have my 34 oz water sitting on my desk ready to consume!
I like being back at work. Wonderful to have something that challenges my mind! People seem to be responding to me, which always makes me feel more comfortable! Now that I'm a wiser older woman, I don't seem to be so bothered by the systemic rumblings that go on (they do in every church). I'm just there to love them. That's easy!
Had a meeting after church yesterday, and forgot to take my lc lunch. That's when I ate the donuts. BUT, I didn't stop at McD's on the way home at 1:30. I went home and ate lc! Yay!
Good to read all of you.
Judy! Hooray on your 143! That's great!
Steve, your numbers are looking great
Law1: I like your "one day at a time" gentleness with yourself. Good for you! Also, good for you for keeping up with checking in! Yay!
My goal is in sight. I want to reach it by my b'day in November. The last 11 lbs! Yikes!

Law, I'll look for the article again. I'm afraid that it may have gone out with today's trash.

Thanks, Judy. If you don't find the article, don't worry about it.

Pegster, I'm glad you are feeling challenged again. You will have to watch out for those glazed donut holes. Isn't it amazing what an effect the sugar has on our bodies? Just think how we must have felt without realizing it when we ate that stuff all the time? Good luck on the last 11 pounds. I know you will make it!

I tracked again today and did a little better in my eating. Here are my stats:

Calories: 1427
Fat grams: 84
Carbs: 32
Fiber: 14
Net carbs: 18
Protein: 127

I haven't weighed myself for a few days because I had an "ABCD" (Adult Beverage Consumption Day -- LOL) on Saturday. I will see if I am brave enough tomorrow morning.
