WE are embarking on the most sugar FILLED holiday of the year! I mean at least Thanksgiving has turkey, Christmas has turkey and HAM and Easter has HAM too! What does Halloween have that is protein? The peanut butter filled candy, or the nuts in the snickers bars? We need to all rally together. Halloween is TRULY a SCARY SCARY time for low carbers. What is your plan of attack? Splurge for the one day? In my case, we have a daycare Halloween carnival tonight, church Halloween party tomorrow night....and then Halloween! So, for me, it is a tough week. My plan, well I am following the FAT FLUSH this week. Extremely strict. NO A.S., no low carb candies, no low carb breads, no dairy, no dressing/butter/cream, VERY STRICT and to the point. I think that will work best for me! I have made it 2 1/2 days thus far.....my goal is to make it till Saturday morning! I think it will help me! So what is your plan?

Hey, Monica, do you have a link for that? Sounds very interesting...

My plan? Well, I caved to some s/f chocs yesterday at church while getting ready for our carnival. I plan not to cave again! Those things set off cravings in me like crazy.

I will be so busy that I hope to not even notice those chocs again! Seriously, my plan is that I am carrying almonds with me. I just forgot when I saw that choc in my desk drawer...

Real candy is not a temptation to me, thankfully!

Blessings!

I bought a big bag of those small packanges of macadamia nuts - each package has about 5-6 nuts. That way any leftovers won't go to waste at my house.
The hard part is going to work and everybody bringing in the candy their kids didn't want.

LOL!
Despite the fact that we rarely got more than 5 trickerTreaters, somehow bags and bags of candy ended up in the shopping cart (you wouldn't want to run out, after all)!

After Halloween, I sometimes had the strenghth to make DH pack up all the leftover candy and take it to work. Of course, by then I'd already OD'd on the ones I liked.

Thanks Monica.

Boy, they sure want to sell a lot of stuff on that site. Are you using the book?

DH went to the store a couple of days ago. He bought three bags of candy --- all his favorites. No problem, if the trick or treaters don't get it all, he will. Last year I was still in induction during Halloween. If there was an icon for patting myself on the back I would put it here. I didn't eat any. This year I plan to do just as well.

Sharon, I don't have the book. Connie, who used to be here, photocopies the first section of it for me! SHHH SHHH don't tell anyone!

It is just an extremely strict plan. PLUS cranberry water! And you get 2 lower carb fruits!

Helps me focus and the last time I did it, I dropped 8 pounds!

Hey gang! Yeah, we do the same as Teelbee. Very few monsters in our neighborhood, but have to have two packages of DH's favorites. He usually takes the leftovers to work, but I'll be out of town for a few days and won't have the temptation. However......I am taking three boxes of Godiva Chocolates on the plane with me. LOL! Hope they make it to their intended recipients!

Mon, can you give some of the specifics? How are you doing it without the book? The site sure didn't give much info...

Blessings!

Sharon, it is a strict plan. No dairy, nuts, wheat or such. OH and NO SUGAR or sugar substitutes. No pop, coffee or anything. Daily you put 8 oz of straight cranberry juice in 64 oz of water and drink it throughout the day. HEY, I can copy what I have and send it to you! Let me know. Brenda did it once for 2 weeks, I think....I can never make it beyond 5 days, too boring. I love veggies, but I like salad with dressing, which is not allowed!

Let me know

Monica

Sure, Monica, I'd be interested in seeing it. It sounds like a good "system cleaner outer."

I did my own system cleaner this am: 2 eggs in coconut oil, 5 glasses of water, 2 T flax and 1 T cod liver oil. I think I must have lost 7 pounds this morning
