Hi vets and maintainers! It's Sunday, a great day for renewal, starting fresh, and getting in either that last bit of relaxation before returning to work, or doing those last chores you know you won't get to during the week.

I plan on a little of everything. I've got chicken cooked and ham defrosting to cover the next couple of days worth of meals, something I often do on Sunday afternoons, but I'm ahead of myself this week. Iwill work out this afternoon, finish the laundry, groom the dog-kids. However, I'm hoping to carve out a couple of hours for myself. I'm feeling creative for the first time in long time, have sketched some ideas (silver bangle bracelets with either dichroic or trade beads), and want to see how they might work out. Part of my procrastination (since I've been wanting to do this for a couple of weeks now) is that I have to teach myself some new skills first. Not a good excuse!

So how's everyone? Anyone else procrastinating about something??

I think this is a great idea to have a daily/weekly thread.

Today I'm resting since Sunday is my only day off. Plus doing laundry and meal planning. Did some stretching this am and some ab crunches. I'm procrastinating about getting the weight bench and dumbells out and getting started on some serious weight training. Seems once I get started then it's one more of those things I have to do at least 2X weekly or fell guilty about.

Went out to Appleby's last night for dinner and had the steak with blue cheese. It was mahvelous! Of course I switched out the mashed potatoes for an extra veggie, and passed on the bread.

Tonight will be steak on the george with asparagus. In the meantime I'm hoping ther's a good football game on or two today.

gregg, back at it

BC,
This thread is a great idea. As the board has changed and people have come and gone, maybe it would also be a good idea to re-acquaint or introduce ourselves to each other. I'll go first ........

I'm Judy, 52 yrs. old, 5'5" and today @140#. I am a high school teacher, teaching regular and AP Macro economics and coaching the Academic Decathlon Team. I've been married for 32 years to the same guy, have two kids--a son 26 and a daughter 22. I am most definitely a vet of dieting programs. I did Atkins the first time in 72. If I had had the confidence and support to stick with it and not to be swayed by the low-fat movement, I would have been in much better shape. I've come back to this WOE many times over the years and for one reason or the other strayed again. In October 2002 I started again and this time I am not going to allow myself to stray. Every time I have done LC it has been successful. Now, how stupid is it to leave something that works??? Oh well, I am now older and wiser.

Today, I too would love to play with some creative projects. Probably won't happen.. I need to make a note outline for my regular classes. Even though I don't work on Sunday, work has to get done on Sunday. It's sort of a survival need --- get everything you can done before Monday so that you can survive the week. You would think after 30 years of teaching this job would get easier.... Yeah, right

So what am I procrastinating about --- getting up, fixing lunch, and doint my "homework". BLAH!

1004?

Is our Brenda behind the time???

OK, seriously:

I did well today. I was focused. In advance, I committed with dh that I was NOT going to eat any of the pizza I had planned for lunch for the rest of the family. I would allow myself toppings, but no pizza.

I did it.

It wasn't that hard once I'd committed.

Now, I'm just sitting here like a lump on my computer

It amazes me how, even though I starte this LC journey 3 years ago yesterday, it is still a DAILY challenge of making the right choices. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.

That is why I love this place -- I have a place to come to stay help me stay focused!

Blessings!

Gregg, the steak sounds great. Hey, I know you'll get that workout gear out again. I seem to remember some hunkie pictures you shared with us last year

Thanks, Judy. Sounds like a pretty full schedule to me. You must be a saint, too, to be teaching that long!

Yeah, Sharron, I'm always behind the times, but not usually by a millinium A new record, even for me!!

OK vets, this is your space. Who else is out there? Chime in tonight, or start a thread tomorrow

Brenda...as usual girl, an excellent idea! It's Mon morning...I always feel like all things are possible on Mondays. I had an excellent low carb weekend. We went to see LOTR. OH my was that a wondeful movie!!! We snacked on a protein bar. Surprisingly the smell of popcorn made me slightly nauseated. My husband got a foodsaver and went WILD pkging up salads for dinner, meat and cheese snacks ( I use them for lunches)and anything else within reach of him.
So dinners will be close to effortless this week!!! Yeah!! I wore my skinny jeans with breathing room! Which keeps me motivated!
All in all a great weekend!!
How are all of you?????
