    Mornin' All

Whew, Deb, I'd say those activities qualify as creative. I really envy your being able to get DH on the dance floor. Mine is one of those dears who couldn't find the beat with a heart monitor. Consequently, at weddings (the only time he honors me with ONE dance) he does the "guy shuffle." No reason to be good at a hobby, enjoying is plenty. I took watercolor once and was abysmal. However, I really enjoyed all the different colors of mud I could create. Rock Climbing!!! Reminds me I've always wanted to do one of those rafting/hiking/climbing treks out west....

April, Hi!!! I didn't know you were musical! Neat. Surgery is no fun, but I know so many people whose carpel tunnel surgery has really restored normal functioning and normal life. I wear a brace at night, too, and when I'm doing anything that puts pressure on my wrist, but it's for DeQuervains tendonitis I have the S&M model with metal stays for nights and a softer one that gives me more mobility during the day.
    Glad to see you here!!

Today I'm making a run to Ikea to find a solid but small worktable so I can get my "stuff" organized. Also am dropping off some kefir grains to a kefir newbie at a Borders. All this to avoid major housecleaning

    What's happening with you all?

I got the wrist splints yesterday evening and wore them to bed last night. When my husband woke up this morning, he told me I looked like something outta Inspector Gadget.

    Men...gotta love 'em.

Weighed this morning and am at 214.5. Was at 217.5 yesterday morning. Once again...weight fluctuations can be unnerving.

My son will be 18 in March and I'm looking for a suitable photo album in which to place all of the photos I have of him (over 100!) so that I can mail it to him for his birthday. Wish I could have photos of my kids, but their father won't send any, and neither will they. I wonder daily what they look like and if sometimes they look at the moon at night and realize that I'm looking at the same moon...missing them.

Work is hopping today. We have our Japanese visitors here. Being in the steel/automotive industry, we have a diverse customer base.

Looking forward to going home tonight and trying to defeat more Sand Creatures in the Prince of Persia/Sands of Time game I got for Christmas for the Sony Play Station. I have to take breaks from it because of the carpal tunnel. I'll finish that game if it kills me.

Sitting here eating my green beans and grilled hamburger pattie left over from last night.

    How's everyone doing?

Brenda - what a neat idea!

Let me "introduce" myself. I am 37, married for 10 years to a wonderful man who alternately annoys the tar out of me and amuses me immensely. He's so much fun to talk to. I have two buys - Hayden, 7, and Luke, 4, and one dog (Raina, the-Weimeraner-who-rules-the-house). I work for a mutual fund company in Boston, as a Compliance Manager for the personal trading policy. Needless to say, I have been and will continue to be, busy, busy, busy. I started the LC woe in May, 2003 and since then I have lost 30 pounds (holding pretty steady since September). The DH is also doing this with me as well.

I have been too busy to indulge in my favorite creative activity, which is knitting, but I'm starting to get itchy to do a project. Maybe tonight I'll check my patterns and yarn supply.

    Have a great day everyone.

All is well in LOW CARB LAND today. I did a great workout. Jogged this morning, did upper bod at the gym at lunch, a little abs and 12 minutes on the stairmaster! COOL, thrilled to see everyone and learn more about them!

April, It's sad that you have no contact with your children. Maybe they have seen your web site and know more about you than you realize. I'll bet that they will attempt to contact you someday. Until then, things like the photo album will remind them of you and that you care.

Today, I feel organized --- for the minute. My goal this semseter is to make my life easier. It sounds like such a small thing, but we got new textbooks last semester in all three courses that I teach. My husband could not believe the work that went into the change over. Thank heavens I primarily teach semester courses, and have been through the new curriculum once. I vow that I will retire before we change books again. It's almost as bad as being a new teacher again.

Weight today -- still stuck @ 140. I'm beginning to think that I'm never going to get to the "magic" number. I might have made it if it had not been for Christmas ---

Doing very well today! Very well indeed

I've had a "paradigm shift" (speak about it in my journal, don't have time to elaborate again here) and it has made a huge difference for me!!!

Working on the book, busy editing and soon to index.

    Catch y'all later!

    Blessings!

Well, I went to work today thinking my class started at 9:30. I was wrong! My first class wasn't until 11. But, that meant that I had plenty of time to decorate the conference room for our taco party. We even had some mexican music playing. And, I got to reveal my pinata.

Classes went well. Then I sat around the office and pretty much did nothing. It's nice to know that I am ready for tomorrow. Although, I am sure I could find some work to do. But, I don't want to look too hard.

It was a great day! My sweet partner is on her second week of doing Atkins and she loves it!
We're having fun planning lunches and snacks to go in our fridge. It has revitalized my resolve to stay true and finally lose and keep off that last 2 lbs..
She had a break at lunch so she went to get our salads at Wendys. She said the girl at the counter went on and on abt how she loves Atkins and had lost 40 lbs so far.My partner said she never knew it was so popular.
Today to keep each other going we left postitnotes of our water consumption in our front office in between patients challenging each other to match our water consumption or beat it ( water poker)We laughed our way to the bathroom all day!

It's 9:20 PM. I'm hungry......... I want a big spoonful of crunchy peanut butter, or a fiber cracker and cream cheese, or heck even more salad from dinner....

Why is it that the last 2-5 are so damned hard to lose? Why did I drink "real" egg nog and eat candy at Christmas and get proceed to myself stuck?

So what am I going to do about being hungry right now.... make out a test. Ohhhh, they better watch out, it might be pretty rough given my current state of mind.

Deb, must be great having an Atkins partner who is new and filled with enthusiasm to encouraage you. Envy! Water poker!

Judy, everybody's different, but I don't do well unless I actually have a snack at night, maybe about an hour before bed. Generally a scrambled egg, but sometimes I do have that leftover salad with some protein. Pity your poor kids, though, tomorrow!

Ah, Elyssa, extra time! So is a pinata hard to make? What was it and what was in it?

Sharron, congrats on the "new attitude." Whether it's a paradigm shift or a kick in the patootie, most of us need a little extra help once in a while .

Gregg, bet you are plenty tired of the winter already

    See you all tomorrow!
