Good Morning, Vets. A quick checkin to see how everyone's doing.

I'm going a little slow today, dragging my feet on some things I really need to do. However, no one is going to do them for me. This afternoon I'll do weights at the fitness center, and run a few errands while I'm out. And tonight, my youngest dog has an agility class. We both get a workout in that one

I'm leaving work for my lunch break momentarily. I'm going to the huge crafts outlet down the street to look for ideas for making that photo album for my son. Then I'll come back here to my desk and eat my broccoli and grilled hamburger pattie.

Yesterday I did really well. I had my green beans and hamburger pattie for lunch, and ate a piece of provolone cheese and turkey breast from the leftover customer luncheon we had. Went home and had a carbon copy of dinner from the night before; shrimp over iceberg lettuce with Ranch dressing. For a snack I had a few pepperoni and extra sharp cheddar cheese, and a handful of walnuts.

Gonna hafta lay off the walnuts...had a little bout of loose bowels this morning. TMI? (Too Much Information?)

Well...off to the craft store and then back here to surf this message board whilst eating my lunch....

    How's everyone else today?

    Hi peeps,

I'm feeling a touch of the winter blahs today. This time of the season semms to drag a bit. In a way it's a good thing as I will need the time to loose some of my flab before summer gets here. It's also a good time for inner work in other areas. Though I'm not sure I want to list them here, there are areas in my life that need work. This is the time of year I try to at least be aware of what these are, even if I'm loathe to actually do anything about them.

On a cheerier note, I did get a little vist from the whoosh fairy!!

How many dogs do you have, Brenda and what kinds?

April, I think there is no such thing as TMI on this board Glad your eating is going well. I've always thought your approach to your woe was admirable, not to mention your results.

I'm curious, tho, how did it turn out with that, shall we say "difficult" co-worker you posted about a coupla weeks ago?

Gregg, I know what you mean about this being a good time of year for reflection. I'm in one of those struggles, too, realizing that in one area of my life (not woe related) my actions are not always congruent with my deepest beliefs. There is always stress when congruency is absent anywhere in my life, and it leaks out into everything else.....

I currently have 2 dogs, Gregg. Both apricot miniature poodles. Khaki is 10 and Token is 3-1/2. Both are smarter than I am.

I made the pinata into a person. So, I painted a face, put some tissue paper around the bottom to make it look like a poncho, and then made a sombrero for it. We were going to fill it with money, then decided to just tape the money around the hat. It was for my supervisor, part of her christmas and since she is going to mexico this weekend. We had too much fun at our little party.

Today, has been good. All of my classes went fairly well. I had one student just blurt out in the middle of class, "I thought you were going nuts." I had my notes on the floor, and was occassionally looking down to see what problem I wanted to do next. At first, he didn't see the paper down there.

Came home today and there was a note on my door from the sherriff's office. It said to call about a summons. I thought it might have something to do with my old neighbors (they broke into my apartment last year at this time). Turns out, they were actually looking for my neighbor and not me. She is apparently using that address still.

So, April, did you get anything good at the craft outlet?

    Congrats Gregg on the whoosh!

    Humpf.

I was doing SO well today! Then, at the store, I got my kids a "treat" of some ravioli. They were the dried kind, so while cooking them I had to taste one to see if they were done.

    Ack.

One lead to about 10. They were the tiny ones -- about 1/4 size of the "normal" raviolis, but still...

It was probably only about 15 carbs, and at least I didnt' eat a whole bowlful as I would have earlier in the fall, but I only intended to eat about 4 of them!

Now, I'm headachy and have a blister on my tongue.

I won't be bringing those into the house again.

I feel like I'm a newbie all over again, learning what foods I can eat and what foods I cannot eat.

I know I should have stayed out of them, but they immediately sparked addictive behavior in me, just as that type of thing did years ago. I guess it doesn't matter that it has been 3 years since I had any. An addiction is an addiction. Pasta is off limits at my house!!!

Ok, sorry for the rant. I just needed to "process" this and I ended up here before I did my journal!

Bren, I would love to see your bracelets! I so wanted to get into jewelery making with my daughter. We never made it further than beaded safety pins, then moved. Haven't picked it up again.

April, you never cease to amaze me

    Gregg -- cool! A Woosh

Purple, a money covered pinata sounds very cool!!

I'm done with the nutritionals for my book and I'm working on indexing, then coding. Fun stuff...

    Blessings!

So true Sharron! Good job stopping when you did. It's got to be tough when you're cooking for others.

OK Greg, here's one to make you jealous........

Our temp today was close to 70. This afternoon about 5:00 I saw a mailman out making his deliveries in his shorts.

    Was that cruel or what???

Gee, thanks Judy I feel better too, now. NOT! At 8:30 when we were coming home from Agility, it was 19 degrees.

Sharron, exactly. An addiction is an addiction. There are times when I feel perfectly sane around some foods and can take them or leave them....however, I never, never can trust that the very next time I won't get triggered into some kind of snarf-fest. I'm not sure when I will finally "get it" that I need to take up April's philosophy and just not go there at all. Period.

Elyssa, I remember the story on the old board about your neighbors from h***. Looks like they're still up to their old ways, eh?

Well, I'm about to go find the horse linament for my knees, after an hour of running around with DC#2 (dear canine ) on a concrete floor. Here's a toast to you, Gregg, she says, lifting the Ben-Gay in salute to the postman who does eight miles a day....

Good one Judy!! At least in June when its in the 70's here, the poor guy in Texas is sweltering in the 100's! Somehow that doesn't seem so bad right now, lol.

BC, again you put it so well. Incongruency. Well said. I see your Ben Gay, and raise you 3 ibuprofens ans 2 glucosamine chondriotins!

Ah, yes, my wonderful neighbors. I think this one is for the money they owe for fixing the apartment. They literally trashed it. And, I too, was glad the police weren't looking for me.

The warm weather, I can't wait. But, I can't complain. Yesterday it was in the high 40's.

    Ooooooooooo

    Yum

Whole wheat toast with Ben-Gay on it.

    What an image!

Guess that would beat any cravings anyone would have for quite some time!!!

Sharron, who has been up since 3 oh something...
