| Hi Kameron!, Great to see you back too. We've been down this road. As Kumus said, we know what to do now we just gotta do it. Thanks for your encouragement Judy. I've been absent for awhile as you know. I look forward to getting to know you better as we continue our journey. Big congrats on you progress! Brenda I couldn't have said it better, the support from these boards is so valuable. There are many warm compassionate folks here to help shoulder the load we all share. "Fast and loose?" You? Really? The eicosinoid thing is very interesting. I hadn't heard of that, but I believe. gregg, back at it 196/165 |

| In the news forum, April posted a thread that said that support during weight loss is necessary. DUH!!! I think we could all testify to that statement. There is a great support network here. My husband calls it my LC cult. Judy (today 140) 180/was 138.5/135-138 "How long does getting thin take?" Winnie the Pooh,Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne |

| LC Cult. Well, it could be worse! Support really is essential unless you've got a will of iron and self-esteem up the wazoo....but heck, if we all had that, we wouldn't have been fat in the first place. I think what we also need to remember is that support "after" weight loss is just as important. We usually have the same lives, same issues, same problems, same stress, same bordom, whatever, that we did before and during our weight loss. The excitement of our "new selves" is enough to carry us on for a while, but family and friends get used to how we look, and so do we. It's so easy, when positive reinforcement slows down, to fall back into old patterns, of eating, thinking, and doing. That's where this board comes in. We all have been around the block in our woe. This is probably one of the few places where someone will always understand where we are with this eating thing, where we've come from, and what it's like from day to day. In a sense, it's a little place where "everybody knows your name." I like it here. I like helping the newbies out. But I especially appreciate all of you. The gift of support we give each other is priceless. BC 172/108/108 Zone since 4/98 |

| Gregg! I just saw this post. You KNOW I'm back too...gads, it's a life-long stuggle, isn't it? But we can do it! So far, I've had a good week, but I've been so busy at work I've forgotten to drink enough water. We'll see how my weigh-in tomorrow goes! | Im with Brenda, support during maintenance is ESSENTIAL! When you get to your goal its just the beginning of a new phase. Most view it as the end. That mindset gets us no where, ok somewhere, added pounds! This board is a GREAT source of support! Deborah 171/139/137 |

I've "been there" at least four times in my adult life, then slipped up after a year or so and began to inch back up. The trouble with the inching is that each time I regained, I regained to a higher weight than I was on the previous roller coaster. This time with "a little help from my friends" I'm not going to make that mistake again. Thanks you guys for being there. Judy (today 139) 180/was 138.5/135-138 "How long does getting thin take?" | "The trouble with the inching is that each time I regained, I regained to a higher weight than I was on the previous roller coaster." Me too Judy, the problem this time is I started at 196 last year at this time, and was 2 pounds heavier this year. I have never made it all the way to goal. The lowest the scale ever said was 169, and with my body type and working out I look okay. But like you said I fall back into old patterns and BAM I am back to where I am today. This time I am in it to win it! Kameron 198/190.2/155 |

| OK vets and maintainers, let's put our money where our mouths are, so to speak. (Money is carb free, anyway.) Most of us will agree support is important at this stage, too, but since we started the new board, other than the "Trackers" group, we haven't made a consistent effort to stay in touch. We used to have a monthly thread. It was great, but got lengthy and was probably darn slow for those on dial-up, I propose a daily thread. Those that want to check in--daily, less than, or more than, can do so. Say hi, share problems, vent, or whatever else, woe related or not. Support each other, needless to say. Whoever gets to the computer first during the day can start the thread. Whaddaya say? By the way, yes I pilfered this idea from another board, so I don't know why it wouldn't work for us..... So......unless someone beats me to it (which would be great) tomorrow morning I'll start a SUNDAY, JANUARY 11, 2004 thread. Anyone game??? BC 172/108/108 Zone since 4/98 |

| Sounds great Brenda, I'm in! I will try to post daily but may not always be able to. I look forward to sharing with y'all. Thanks for the howdy Em! Yes it certainly can be a struggle. But such a rewarding one. Let's make it work. With the collective knowledge and experience here, and a shared effort, how can we miss? gregg, back at it 196/165 |

| I'm in too. I'm usually an evening poster, so I probably won't be the starter...... just a thought.....Maybe instead of a daily page, we could make it weekly. It might be easier to keep up and then go back to read posts from others. If there are too many threads, important thoughts and ideas could get lost or over looked...... By the way, any and all of you are invited to join us tracking. We generally stick lots of support in with the tracking totals. | Judy, I'm on the fence between daily and weekly vet posts. It could be that weekly would be better. However, my thought process was that I didn't want vets, many of whom are sporadic posters anyway, to feel as if they "had" to be completely up to date on everyone's status in order to check in. And, if anyone has specific issues to chew on, I hope they will start separate threads. I'm up for whatever works for the group as a whole, though. Weekly, monthly, or bicentennial is fine with me if it helps And yes, you trackers are doing a great job of supporting each other. That's wonderful!! BC 172/108/108 Zone since 4/98 |

| I will try to post daily but not on the weekend. I too stop the going to the web site because I was just going to go off until Cherry season was over, then the fall, well at least I am back after the first of the year. I am probably lucky because I only gained about 6.5 lbs over 6 months. But I only have clothes in my new size. I gave all my old clothes away(even some not so old). So I was getting fat in my clothes and decided I needed to reorient myself. Also I wanted to take off those last few pounds I did not take off last time. I am doing well. 3 pounds the first week which is 20% of the weight I want to lose. travellost-51 yrs Young 1/20/03 195/145 first time 1/5/04 second time 150/147/135 |
