| I'm not a big Super Bowl fan either. The commercials are the only thing worth watching on there anyway, but I still can't sit through that much of it. I did hear Paul McCartney say in an press conference that "there will be no wardrobe malfunction this year....as the band would be performing in the nude" I did check in during the halftime show, and he was fully clothed. What ever happened to truth in advertising? (quite relieved actually) Well, off to do laundry and then to bed. I can't believe the weekend is over sooo soon! It's like there was only one day and now it's gone. |

| Well, Judy! You have been busy, indeed. The website looks great - it's well-organized and easy to navigate. I didn't find any broken links. Your students are very fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented teacher. We aren't into Superbowl either. Painted the hallway instead. DH started to watch the game, and then asked if I wanted to go to the hardware store to replenish paint supplies - nothing we need urgently, btw. My heavens that man has changed! Football used to be a religion with him, and he was a very strict observer of the faith. I picked over hundred lemons from our little bent tree. Sent bags home with friends and I am sending a couple of grocery bags full with DH to share at work. I told him I would make some lemon squares to take, too. I guess I'd better go do that.

I'm turning in. This was just a quick drive by. My internet is acting up. But, I'll call the cable people tomorrow. YAY PATS!!! As Kim says, speaking of Brady, "Can you say, chin?" Oh yeah. Peace, Peg

| I ended up going to town with my hubby on Sunday. I really needed to get out....cabin fever was hitting me bad and I didn't trust the weather after the heavy snowfall Saturday. Just my luck, that the roads were just fine and I could have gone by myself. That's okay, I knocked off a good portion of the list I had made, and ....I got him to pay for it all. lol NOw, when I get a chance to go in (hopefully on the 19th), I can spend my time browsing in the book store and trying on clothes. He's really good about not bugging me when it comes to shopping, but he's not a reader and I hate to make him sit and wait for me. I spent far too much money in Michael's buying scrapbook supplies, but hey, I'm worth it. The downfall of the day was we ended up at McDonald's for lunch. I wanted a salad but he had coupons for their sandwiches. I agreed and ordered a veggie sandwich. Don't ever order one! They are a sloppy gooey mess. I wore more than I ate. Not only that I felt guilty over each bite I took because of the bread. It was loaded with peppers (which I hate). I didn't even eat half of it, before I chucked it. Next time I will stand my ground and have my salad. The dogs did better than I did....he ordered them chicken strips. (don't even ask....yes, they are very spoiled) I was lucky that the sandwich didn't affect my weight, but I was careful yesterday anyway. I put a roast in the crockpot before I left for work. Plus, Spring must be coming cause I found fresh asparagus in the store. It was expensive ($2.98/lb), but I needed it bad. I bought two bunches for 5 something. Not bad I thought. It won't be wasted. So, nice roast, asparagus and salad. What a meal to come to! Judy, I've tried those lemon cookies and thought they were okay. Just watch them though, cause they tend to spring mold very quickly. I made the mistake of making two boxes at once and lost almost all of them. I should have frozen them. Have you ever tried Ellie's Peanut Butter cookies? I have to freeze them they are so good. Just about melt in your mouth. It's very cold here today...way below freezing. But, the roads are good and it's supposed to warm up by Thursday. Where is that little groundhog...he said Spring...I think I saw a recipe somewhere for groundhog pot pie....

| LOL, Donna! Groundhog stew! We are not supposed to get Spring for six more weeks. I suspect that that means that it will not be until AFTER Easter! Of course, Easter is the end of March, so it will probably be snowing! DH got back yesterday afternoon. After 48 hours on the road he was pretty punchy. He didn't notice half of the stuff in the living room, but he is to be excused because of his exhaustion. Also, to tell the truth, the redecoration was for me, not for him. He knew about it. But, he just doesn't notice much about his surroundings. This has its good side and its bad. Luckily, he is very neat, so never any problem about him picking up after himself. But, he seldom notices whether I have on something new or pretty. It has taken me a long time to recognize this as a wonderful thing! He ALSO doesn't notice if I gain weight; wear the same thing twice, or more; don't have on makeup; you name it. I have learned that all those THINGS are just that, things. I have to like me for WHO I am and not what I look like. Of course, I continue to work on this. This morning the scale said 177. Yay! Body must have known that healthy eating is back in fashion! Peace, Peg

| Peg, so glad your DH made it home safely! I'm sure once he gets some much needed rest, he'll start noticing all the changes. Didn't do much fun today...just work and when my Hubby got home we unloaded another trailer of furniture for my sister. Three of us six kids are moving...what, are we nuts! This weekend, I want to go to the new Will Smith movie...think it's called "Hitched" Looks like it will be quite funny. Anyone seen any good movies lately? Haven't been since the early part of November and am having withdrawal symptoms! We usually go at least twice a month, but only once since I started this woe. I'll still get my buttered popcorn though, no matter what...twice in 4 months isn't bad. Well, I'm beat, so off to bed I go. Hope everyone had a wonderful day! Lauri |

| Okay, BC, this is all your fault. I've been reading how you are teaching yourself to knit and I thought why can't I do that. I would so love to be "crafty". I can crochet afghans and I've made everyone I know one of them, so I've run out of people to give them to. Over 20 years ago, I made my daughter a poncho, so I thought it was time to crochet my grandaughter one. I've lost the very easy pattern. So, I picked one up at WalMart. ($7.00?) Last night I got settled with my cup of green tea and got started. I had to start out with 174 stitches. By the time I had ripped out two rows, three times, I had lost the picture in my mind of me sitting and watching TV and bringing forth these beautiful creations that people would beg for. What a dream that was! So, this morning I went of the internet and I think I found an even easier pattern. I'm not giving up yet. Just a little slow, I think. lol I will be giving it another try tonight. If it doesn't work....you will see these two little dogs walking down the street with light purple wool wrapped tightly around their bodies to keep them warm. Peg: I agree that it's great when hubby's don't notice things. I can remember my mom buying a new dress and hiding it in the closet. Then a month or so later bringing it out and wearing it. When Dad asked if it was new...she could honestly say no. lol My hubby doesn't care what I buy as long as I am happy, but he doesn't notice too much either. Lauri: Can you believe I haven't been to a show in about 8 years. It's so much easier to just rent the movie. I don't know what it costs in your neck of the woods, but in BC it's over $25 for two people to get in and then there is the popcorn and drinks on top of that. I'd rather stay home. Although, I did love that popcorn. Teelbee: How about sending some of those lemons my way....it would be a relief from the snow. We can't grow lemons here, but I do have a fruit trees. I'd just love to see leaves on them. Snow is finally melting again, maybe this time it means Spring is coming? Have a great lc day everyone!

| 142.5 today. Not great, but I'm relieved to see the scale stop climbing and start turning back the right way. hmmm.... on the knitting thing. Having something to do with my hands would probably be a good way to avoid the night time nibble and snacking habit. I used to enjoy papercutting (scherenschnitte); but now my fingers get numb if I do it for very long. I wonder if crocheting or knitting wouldn't be less stressful for my fingers? I'm very right-handed, so my right hand takes a beating when I'm doing anything physical - especially gardening and painting - all that sanding, especially. Quote:

| Sorry Teel to bring up a sore subject. You're actually better off not giving the govt a interest free loan for a year anyway. If I'd had the money DURING the year I might have been able to pay off my credit card earlier. I bought a couple of small steaks on Sunday. Silly me, I didn't plan very well and had too many defrosted items I HAD to eat before I got around to the steaks. Anyway, the 'sell by' date on the steaks is today so I guess they should still be good right? Even though they aren't nearly as red as they were a couple of days ago. I did notice a slightly 'off' smell to them....not really bad. Is this normal? I already ate one of them. Should I toss the other one? Thannnnks!
