I'm checking in before I check out from work. Wednesday was HORRIBLE - I was upset with DH so I let me eating get away from me. I did log it into fit day but it wasn't pretty. Mostly toast with jelly! But, yesterday and today have been good eating days for me. Today has been tough as we had "breakfast pizza" at work (I scraped off and ate the toppings), I had a lunch meeting (I got there early enough to get the breakfast bar (eggs and bacon) and we're having the bible bowl kids over tonight for pizza! I LOVE pizza. I miss it more than I miss anything else. I am going to be good, I am going to be good...

BC - I went to Curves for about 6 months. Lost 3 pounds and almost -0- inches. I went faithfully at least 3 times a month. I guess I found it boring. I didn't know anyone else there so there wasn't really anyone to talk to. I cancelled my membership 2 weeks before I was diagnosed with breast cancer. There were a lot of ladies that came in groups and they seemed to really enjoy it. It just wasn't for me.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend! I'll check back in on Monday.

ladybug, you have to try the lc version of pizza. It's the greatest! Even my hubby brags to people how good it is and he doesn't eat lc. Sorry you had such a crappy week, hope the weekend is good to you.

I had my first massage last night. It felt so good. She found all the spots that have been killing me in my neck and shoulders and worked on them. Today....I feel like I've been hit my a truck. She warned me I would feel like this. She figures a few more sessions so she can work the knots out. I guess they are pretty deep and she didn't want to put me through too much or it might scare me off and I wouldn't come back. It was worth it to just feel pampered. That hour sure went fast!

I didn't have a chance to cheat yesterday. I had eggs and bacon for breakfast. Then I had a cheese and bacon omelet for lunch. Hubby got home first last night and the rule is the first one home makes dinner. Guess what I had? Yup...he made omelets. I could have gagged, but I didn't. Obviously, today I won't be having any eggs. lol

Work day is almost over and it's been a busy one. Can't wait to get home, walk the dogs, make dinner, throw a load of wash in...and finally put my feet up. Have a great weekend, all.

Hi all: Feeling a little more human this evening. Have a deep cough that has finally become "productive." My voice is WAY down in the basement. Colds always hit me in the vocal cords. Occuptional hazard, I figure.

Eating has been clean today. Got some LaTortilla tortillas and had two tacos for lunch. What a treat! DH has been real good about cooking LC. We have LC pizza at least twice a month. Sometimes we have it once a week! I love it! But, I haven't eaten it this week because of the sodium. Trying to give myself a fighting chance.

DH is gone tonight to a work thing. I'm going down to the basement to watch TV and knit. Just thought I would check in. Thanks for the hugs, Brenda. I need them!

Peace, Peg

Peg, Gald you are feeling better. Spring is coming and this last horrible winter will soon be over. No more snow for you!

Today I did some shopping. It's weird, I've been this size for over a year, but when I shop, I still gravitate to 12s and not 8s and 10s. I tried on a black dress from the sale rack --$150 dress marked down to $35. It was a 12. I haven't yet totally developed an "eye" for the right size. Although it was a good price, I would have had to do some alterations. Truthfully, I just wasn't in the mood to alter it, so I put it back.

Tia-- Remember the headache I had after the massage. Looks like I wasn't the only one to get a hangover from the former knots.

Have a good weekend everyone. Today the sun is shinning and the wind is blowing. Our current temp is 80. Thank heavens it's warming up --- time to break out the tan in a can and bright colored polish for the toes. Sandal days are not far away.

Just a quick check-in today. Life just turned left into the turmoil lane, but will cope. Switch is still ON. Weight seems to be about 140 - 141. Eating very "on plan", drinking lots of water (thirsty all the time and peeing buckets).

Wishing you all the best for the coming week.

LB, thanks for your input on Curves. Not sure what I need to do to regain some motivation.

Donna, glad you enjoyed the massage, and hope you had the nice weeken you were looking forward to.

Peg, how are you feeling. Did you have to preach today?

Judy, isn't it odd how long it takes to adjust our perspectives? I think I may always have a fat "brain" Bet you will find some wonderful clothes, though, that you won't have to alter.

TB, oh dear. Hope everythink is ok with you and family. Hugs here if you need them, OK?

I've felt rather yucky myself this weekend. A tough of "almost" vertigo. And very tired--more tired after I eat breakfast than before. Not sure what's going on! But I did knit a little teddy bear sweater--at least the front, back, and sleeves. Now I have to stitch it together. Something tells me this will be my least favorite part!

See you all tomorrow .

Oh my gosh Bren, I forgot about the Curves question, sorry.

The first six months I went the suggested 3X per week. Then it got cold (realtive term -- this is Texas) and I got seriously busy. The last month or so I have only made it more like 2X per week. That said, the thing I like best is that you do not have to meet a class time, and it is a "no spandex" zone. Whatever you have on works, you don't have to go out and buy an outfit to look like you have an idea what's happening. There are ladies that are big and small and fit and not. There's always someone to talk to if you want, or if you aren't in the mood, start on the other side of the circle and away from others. The harder you work the machines, the more you get out of it. If your not up for a hard workout, go easier on the machines. Run hard or not. It's all up to you. I like it. It's the only exercise program that I have ever felt comfortable with and continued for the long term. Best of all you are in and out in about 40 minutes.

Feeling absolutely lousy. This cold has turned nasty on me! Yeah, I preached, taught, and did confirmation last night. Was at the church from 7:00 am until 9:00 pm. Thought I was going to die. Went to bed at 9:45 and went right to sleep. At least my nose is running this morning. Last night my chest and throat hurt really bad and I couldn't force any more on my voice. Ah, the things we do for work! Uh....I mean, love.

Just checking in before I go to the dentist. I'll check in later with weight and such.

Peg

Sorry to hear you feel so crappy Peg....I've been there. Hot green tea really helped me. I was never sure when I was going to open my mouth and only half a sentence would come out. lol And on top of the cold you go to the dentist....you're one tough lady.

Judy: I also went shopping on the weekend and out of habit I went to the larger ladies store in town. They have gorgeous well made clothes. When I realized what I had done, I browsed anyway thinking they might have some smaller clothes. It made me feel so good when the salesgirl came to me and asked if I was looking for something for a friend. Yes!! Couldn't find anything in the store to fit me!! But, I did find the bargain of the year in another store. I wanted a lightweight jacket and found a suede jacket that was marked down to $59 from $129.95. It's just gorgeous and the type of thing I've always wanted to wear but never could. Well, it's mine now. Also found a quilted jacket, shoes, and two blouses. Then I hit the gardening centre and loaded up on bulbs, a bird feeder, wind chimes and lots of other goodies for the garden. The book store was next. By the time I got home, I did serious damage to the bank card. I think hubby is having second thoughts about me going shopping without him. lol
On a bad note....it was my daughters bd yesterday. She's 28 (oh my god, that makes me 38!!). We took her out for chinese food and then black forest cake for desert. I'm sorry to say, that I did have a piece of cake. My first in over two years. It was soooo good. And, yes, I'm paying for it today. Weighed in at 155.5! Highest I've been in a long time. Lots of water today.
I also bought a Leslie Sansone walking tape. But, I bought the wrong one and you have to use weights with it. Well, I have weights so I had no excuse. I used it Saturday night and again yesterday. I have muscles where there is no reason for them to be and they are all screaming at me!! So, it must be working. I'm actually anxious to get back at it tonight. Oops, not tonight...have to visit my father in law in hospital where he's having surgery to see if he has cancer. Hope the outcome is going to go the right way today.
It was a gorgeous warm weekend. I worked outside yesterday with no coat on. Then this morning the weatherman says it's going to snow on Wednesday? That would be nice!! (not)

Thanks, Judy. Appreciate your input. They will open in a couple of months, and I'll make some kind of decision. As it is, I'm wasting my money.

Peg, you're taking a couple of days off, I hope? Ish, no one would be dragging me to the dentist that sick. Never took you for a masocist, Peg, LOL!

Donna, your new clothes sound wonderful. The thought of spring sounds wonderful, too.

Oh mi gosh, Brenda!!!!! That rabbit so SO cute!! I am absolutely in AWE of you that you did that.

Re the dentist. Remember about a year ago I was going to see about getting those invisalign braces so I could have straight teeth for the first time in my life? Well, my visit yesterday was to see what I look like with veneers on my front teeth. They are absolutely beautiful!! I have to think about whether to get them. They are very expensive. Dealing with whether my vanity is worth that amount of money. I'm not a candidate for the braces. I have a fragile ceramic "mockup" to put on to see the result of the veneers should I choose them. Talked to DH about it last night. He was actually willing to listen even when he heard what they cost!! I don't know.....should a 61 year old woman even care what her teeth LOOK like?? Should someone as old as me actually invest in her mouth for "cosmetic" reasons. I already have bleached hair, fake nails, lots of makeup, blue contacts to enhance my eyes.....sheesh, when it is enough?? Those are some of the questions I'm asking myself. The good subconscious voice just isn't there right now. I have such a negative "parent" voice in my head today that I'm glad I don't have to make the decision today.

Donna: Oh, I envy you SO MUCH buying for the garden. We are going to have a week of 40's so some of our mountains of snow will melt. No more snow this week, maybe. People are talking about Spring, but it is a ways off.

Judy: How fun to go shopping. I will be doing that when it warms up some.
The news (size wize) is not going to be much different than last summer if I don't get my bod moving. This dang cold has slowed me down.

I'm still coughing massive amounts. Today I'm in the office for staff meeting (I run it1) and then will go home. I rested all afternoon and evening yesterday, you guys! Give me a break. I did have one cup of green tea. Mostly, I just drank water.

The scale said 180 again this morning. I must be retaining water, because I have not had anything wrong to eat! I do need to be exercising, I know.

Later, peg

Peg: I don't think there is anything wrong with getting veneers as you put it "at your age". If I could do it, I would. I don't think vanity has anything to do with it. If it makes you feel good, just go do it, girl. I'm 55 and after raising 4 kids and foster kids, I've decided it finally time for myself and you know what....it is. As for the bleached hair? My hair is an auburn colour and I'll smack anyone who says it comes out of a bottle (that's cause it's that close in colour to the real thing. lol). Just take care of yourself for now and don't worry about the exercising. I did find that green tea helped me to keep the congestion moving. We're thinking about you!

Cute Bunny! I know she is proud to have a sweater to get her past the remainder of the winter.

Peg, -- hope you feel better soon. Go for the veneers. If things in your family are anything like they are at my house, you have done lots of sacrifices for others and put yourself last on the spending list. If you have the money, do it for yourself. So what if you already have a little help on the hair and nails and contacts.

Donna -- there aren't many who have reached our age that don't have a little help with the gray. The trick is to keep it natural and to keep the roots covered. Yep, I'm all about keeping the roots covered.

I WAS BAD TODAY! I took the day off. DH and I went to Tyler to interview restaurants for DS's rehearsal dinner. We talked to the owner of a really cute Mexican food place. Very new and fresh looking with the cutest decor. We ate lunch there to try out the food selections that he was proposing for the dinner. Oh yeah, I had chips and real tortillas and stuff that I hadn't eaten in two years. I WAS BAD TODAY!
