Good Morning Everyone!

We spent a lot of time on-line yesterday, trying to figure out what kind of ticket deal is best for our stay at Walt Diseny World next month. We were looking at a lot of other things too. We didn't figure anything out yet.

For excitement, we went to see "Welcome to Mooseport". It's the movie with Ray Romano and Gene Hackman. It was ok, which was it's intention, I think. I was good and didn't eat any popcorn or drink any soda at the movie.

What is everyone else up to?

Today is recommitment! I can do this. I will NOT let myself spiral and wake up 20 pounds heavier. 4 is bad enough. As I mentioned yesterday LENT is here and I am giving up SUGAR and sugar free candy. YES BC, I did well at this last year. I think it might be just the right time to focus! Michelle, I would LOVE a recommitment buddy. My email address is rethmanm05@yahoo.com. Email me, we can do menus and exercise. Keep focused and on the right path!

This morning I went jogging, it was 45 degrees, it was nice to get out a bit. Hopefully the weather will continue. IF not, I have the Tae Bo tape to do inside! Noon, DH and I are heading to the gym, we meet with the trainer and will attempt to shake up our routine! Been doing the same one for 6 weeks. I think part of my problem is the increased exercise caused me to gain 2 pounds...I am sure it was muscle, but my BRAIN wasn't. SO, I felt, if I am not losing, may as well eat! KWIM? BAD I know. Today I am meeting with a woman trainer, I plan to tell her I do NOT want to bulk up, but slim down! Hopefully she can give me direction!

BC, I also think you are right about winter blahs. I think spring is just the thing we all need! It was 60's this weekend and I loved it!

Here's to a new day!

Peg, I meant to say, we too are having a Shrove Pancake supper on Tuesday night. I plan to eat a little sausage and then go home and have a salad. The kids will love the fun activities they are planning, so I will BE GOOD and take them so we can all enjoy some fun! BUT, no pancakes for me!

Morning all...Monica, I am so very happy for you. I can feel the excitement of recommittment in your post! You can do it! If you listen closely you can hear me yelling ( and no comments concerning the little pompoms ROFL)

"Monica! Monica! she's our girl! If she cant do it, no one CAN!!!!!!" YEAH!!!!!!!!"
(and with that I carefully get up( with help from the EMTs ) from the splits position.)

How is everyones day so far?
PS.Monica Dont bother apologizing to me abt being "religious" It encourages my heart when others affirm their spiritual journey!

Hi All!

Up and moving from my killer day yesterday. I worked from 7am to 9pm at the church. Busy all that time.

I got up and had bkfst with dh and then went back to bed for a couple of hours. I didn't sleep deep, but it was so luxurious just to lay there, warm and think!

Now I'm trying to organize my desk and pay some bills. One of the things that got me in trouble two years ago when I was working as Sr.Pastor was working too hard and not eating right, as well as way too much stress. That's one of the reasons that I "retired."

But, I've been given another chance to do it "right." Don't you think it's true that the Universe keeps presenting us with opportunities to do things over that may have been challenging the first, second or third time?! Taking care of myself has been a challenge. I'm doing a whole lot better, but the temptation is always there (like Dunkin' Donuts because I'm not prepared with healthy snacks!).

When I'm at home I'm able to be attentive to my eating and to my stress level. Today is a day off, preparatory to a really busy week. I'm going to try to do some things that will make my eating better. Like preparing snacks.

Check out my story on the home page. You can see before and after pictures of me. The before pic was in 2001 and the after was taken on New Year's Eve (just passed).

Maybe we need to start a recommitment thread, Monica and Michelle. I'll join it with you.

Peace, Peg

You almost got a picture of me! I tried to post it and it was NEARLY lifesize! Andrea was so sweet to remove it. If any of you have any clues for me on how to shrink the picture let me know....you'd have seen that having a blonde moment comes naturally for me!

Hi vets!,

Monica I feel your pain! You aren't the only one to "fall asleep" and wake up heavier. Put me down for 30 klunkers. I think it's great that you are recomitting. A recomittment thread is a great idea.

Peg, what a day! 14 hours??!! Whew! No wonder you retired from that. I agree that planning is crucial. I can see where it would be tough to plan for days that long though. Is there a kitchen in the church? Could you cook up something easy there? A microwave?

Can't wait to see your pics Deb.

BC, I'm with you on the winter blahs. We are getting there though. The snow is almost gone.

Only 26 days till Spring!

Greetings Vets!! It's me, ConCon!!

I haven't checked in for a long time. All is well; I'm maintaining nicely with balance, exercise, patience.
I'm happily not being as obsessive as I had been a few months ago. If I keep an eye on the scale, drink enough water and watch my calories/carbs I do great. I've decided that anywhere under 129 is a wonderful place to be for me...

It's fun to catch up on the gang! I'm so happy for all of you for sticking to the program!!

Ilse-way to go, I'm thrilled for you!! Keep up the good work; you must feel fantastic!!

Monica!! I've missed you! Good for you for your dedication!

Deb...I'm laughing at the picture posting episode...I am total cluts at that stuff too!!

Brenda...so good to read the latest about you too...are you doing your yoga?? Hows your wrist?

Peg-I'm Connie and it's good meeting you!!

I'll check back soon...Happy MOnday all!!

Hey Gang!!! If anyone hasn't seen it yet, check out our very own Peg, who has shared her own inspiring and life changing story.

Peg's Story

Thanks Peg--it's wonderful to see you AND you look wonderful. Hope you've had a nice relaxing day off today.

Connie!! How very nice to hear from you again. Folks, you remember Connie, aka Con-Con from before the big crash. Sounds like you are continuing to do great, especially in the "not obsessing" department How are the lovely daughters?

Yes, I'm still yoga-ing, twice a week now. Even went with a migraine this am--do I hear violins,LOL! I've also recently started Tai Chi. And Ta-Daaaaaa! (And knock on wood) My wrist for the last month has been better than it's been in the last two years. I must say it feels very close to normal. The down side is that I no longer have a good excuse to avoid push-ups Are you still Pumping and playing tennis??

Ilse, you are continuing to lose. Wow!
Gregg, you sound up today. That's great. Thanks for the reminder that it really is closer to Spring than it seems.

Deb, Mon, what great support here. Your conversation this morning really gave me a smile.

Oh,Peg. You are right on. A benevolent universe never fails to give us the opportunity to get it right. How often I fail to see the opportunity right in front of me, though.

Well, I better think about dinner Later!

Hi all:

Just had to stop by for a minute. I remember you Connie. I've been posting a reading for over a year. However, I didn't venture out of the Atkins Forum until I really felt like a vet. Probably after the big crash. It's good to hear from you again.

Brenda: Thanks for all your wonderful input. It's great to hear that from you! I have to admit that when I'm on my third time through trying to learn the same lesson, I don't think of the Universe as so benevolent! LOL

Gregg: Yeah. I have a microwave at the church AND a refrigerator and a fully equipped kitchen. I could cook a seven course meal for 100! But, Dunkin Donuts is next door. Sigh. It takes prior planning, and I'm determined to do it this week.

Deb: I laughed too at your pic posting episode. Judy resized mine for me. I'm not sure how to do it. So glad for people who know how to do those things.

Well, off to do the dishes and prepare for bed.

Peace, Peg

OH Connie, how are you babe? It has been ages. You know me, I am always fighting the battle. Under 129 is AWESOME! You go girl! How are things in Sunny CA? We all hate you here. Today at 5:00 a.m. I jogged and it was 45 degrees, that was as warm as it got!

Love ya girl!

Hey PEG, awesome story!

Deb,
Check the pirvate topics. I sent you a message regarding your picture that needs to be resized.

So many good things to discuss --- soo little time to discuss. You guys think about me this week! I'm leaving Thursday morning for four days away at contest with 9 kids. It may make me crazy enough to eat a real candy bar. I will not cheat, I will not cheat, I will not cheat, I will not cheat.
