Hi All.

I am still here. I have been reading your posts but haven't had time to reply.

I had a real wake-up call yesterday. My son did a video tape of the family and it was so depressing to see myself on video tape. I look just HUGE. I feel committed to starting to track again. It is the only way I am going to get back on track.

I have a hearing on Thursday and will start tracking on Friday. It's a promise!

I am with you, Rachel, on the need to start tracking, but continuously not quite getting there. Can we do it? I sure hope so.

Judy, Peg and Elyssa -- you are all so great and so committed to keeping with this tracking. You are inspirations!

Law -- It's always good to see you back on the thread with us. I also understand how you feel about seeing pictures of yourself. We are all extremely critical of ourselves. I still haven't found a picture that I like to do a "before and after" article for Andrea. Even now, I'm still very critical.

Oh Rachel, it's so easy to slip and so hard to get back in gear. You can do it. I've slipped around some too during the last week. I've taken bouncing to new levels. Check out today's weight -- you'll see what I mean.

So..... I need to get more serious about things again too...... (and the Black history luncheon didn't do a thing to help the carb count.)

Weight: 139
Calories: 1339
Fat:84(57%)
Carbs: 92-25= 67 net(20%)
Protein:74 (22%)
Water: too little

I know what you mean about pictures. I have an almost 20 year gap in pics of me. Lots of the family, but none of me. I did unearth a before pic from a couple of years ago. I don't know what possessed me to pose for it, but there you go. There are worse ones, but vanity prevents me from posting them. I'm going to send you pics right now, Judy. Thanks for the offer.

I'm bouncing around too. Today weight is 176 and that is downfrom the first of the week. I'm on a big sweets tear. I'm aware of it, just not doing anything about it. Sigh. I know that I will. I'm getting there.

The weather is turning absolutely Spring like around here. High 30's today. Sun shining. Yay!

I'll check in later.
Peace, Peg

Peg-------It's 3:00PM central and no pictures have arrived. I checked the address that I gave you, it is correct. If the pictures are very big, you may have to send them in separate emails --- sometimes big stuff will bounce.

I am getting so lazy about tracking. I do a good job through most of the day, but by dinner I just blow off the counts. Tonight wouldn't have been hard to finish off -- a bunless burger from BK,and some raw veggies, but then there was the LC fudge I made. Since it's a hybrid recipe that I keep tweaking, I have no idea how much I have eaten and what the count is --- One thing for sure, it's good! Everybody needs a chocolate fix occasionally.

Hey everyone! I have been so busy this past week. Everything is coming due, plus I have my own work for classes to get done.

I actually finished my summary and it's not due until Monday. Yea for me! Now, I have a letter to write before next Friday - haven't started on that. And in two weeks, my notebook is due - that's a work in progress.

Today, is full of meetings, one right after the other. Luckily, before the meetings start our division is having a potluck. There should be plenty there for me to pick around.

Anyways, with everything going on - I haven't even thought to track. Although, I am watching what I eat. However, I am back to 142. Stubborn, stubborn pounds.

7 to go!

Hi all! I have been woefully absent from your kind 'voices' but i do check in from time to time. I had a few "off" days - didn't go crazy but I didn't track either. I am not going to weigh myself until I can fit into my size 8s - a mini challenge - sort of!

I have tracked for a couple of days...

Wednesdays numbers:
Calories: 1306
Fat: 72 (50%)
Carbs: 32-8=24 (8%)
Protein: 87 (27%)
Water: 68 oz. a little low...

Thursdays numbers:
Calories: 1324
Fat: 107 (73%)
Carbs: 35-12=23 (7%)
Protein: 68 (21%)
Water: oops, I see I didn't keep track - I can guess it was about 2 liters - too low

We have a guest for dinner - an old friend in town on a consultancy and I have planned the day to include a couple of glasses of wine... if I don't blow it - here are my expected numbers for Friday:

Calories: 1201 (room for another glass of wine if I 'need' to)
Fat: 76 (59%)
Carbs: 26-6= (7%)
Protein: 68 (12%)
Alcohol: 19 (12%)
Water: hmm, also too low... about 2 liters - I need to get on top of that one.

Big news of the day - Roger found zucchini - we see zucchini and broccoli in the fancy vegetable market about once a month and hoard it when we can. For as wonderful as the soil is in this country they don't grow and eat so many good things... the broccoli is imported but the place is lousy with cauliflower - go figure... they have never heard of celery, asparagus, summer squash, string beans... I REALLY miss the celery.

ah well... hope you are all doing well...

Hugs,
Rachel

Well, confession time is here. I've made a recommitment to this way of life last night, I think. But for sure today.

As I have said, I have been getting into the sugar every since Christmas. I haven't had to pay too much in weight gain, but certainly no significant loss. Night before last I had to run out to the grocery store after dinner and in a weak moment bought TWO bags of chocolate covered caramels! I hid them in my purse and took them to work yesterday. Forgot about them until on the way home and then I ate about six pieces in a row. By the the time I got home I was feeling nauseous. By dinner time I was bloated and feeling awful. After dinner I looked about 6 months pregnant, I was so bloated. By about 9:00 pm I started with diarrhea. It kept up until everything in my system was out.

It was quite a lesson. I've felt bad before, but this was the worst. I sat in my recliner, rubbing my distended belly and watched "Extreme Makeovers" and the contestants who had to lose weight before they could get their makeovers. So much of what the coach told them was familiar to me. (Except for the "no Atkins" bunk) I kept saying to myself, "I can do this, I really can." That was the switchgoing on!! This morning I got up and exercised with DH. He was thrilled! I've been eating lc all day and drinking and bathrooming all day. Feels good. I'm going to track my eats today, and will check in tomorrow with them.

After my unexpected "release," last night I weighed 174 this morning. I think I'm going to go for another 20 pounds; maybe even more. I think that I ought to weigh between 140 and 150. I was "settling" for 165 because of my age and my belief that I didn't need to lose any more. I think that I may have been premature on my goal.

Anyway, that's how it is with me. Back to tracking. Back to DANDR. Back to the WOE.
Peace, Peg

Congratulations Peg on recommitting. It does seem that a jolt of stomach problems can be a great "message".

Now regarding that new goal........ remember I have your pictures. That 155 in the sig line might be more appropriate than something lower. Your pics are great and will make a great success story. I'll work on them in a bit and get them back to you.

Rachel, have a good time at your Mardi Gras party. Let us know what you decided to cook, and how it comes out. Can you get okra for gumbo?

OK, today I am tracking --- well at least so far so good. Thursday we leave for the state contest. This time it will be a four day trip. I expect to be pretty sporatic in visits and tracking this week. If I don't get a new thread started on time, would someone else please do it for me?

It's very cool to see who we have been talking to. And.....You're welcome!

Now, I guess I'll have to do something about one for myself.

Ok, I tracked today --- and it's ugly. I was in a cooking mood and spent too much time in the kitchen. You know how it goes -- a taste here, a taste there.......

Mick,
Welcome to the track. I use Fitday. I like it because I can access it from anywhere with internet. I believe Peg has a program that she uses. I'm not sure about Rachel and Elyssa.

Today is one of those days that doesn't look too pretty. In fact it's worse than yesterday. Like someone (maybe you) said on the daily thread, I do great during the week, but then really blow it out over the weekend. Last week I made some chocolate fudge. It was just too easy to keep cutting into it today. Between that and a chicken casserole that I ate for both lunch and dinner, I really got the calories up there.

Tomorrow is Monday --- I need some fiber to kick in to help move out some of what I have eaten the last couple of days.

Weight: 138
Calories: 1847
Fat:143(67%)
Carbs: 77-19= 58 net(12%)
Protein:100(21%)
Water: iced tea --good / water--bad

Hi gang.. Hi Mick... I use Fitday, too. i find it really is the best for me and I've dropped all my usual recipes into it (like my cole slaw or tuna salad) so I don't have to do each ingredient each time.

LoL! Judy, I am guilty of saying that I was great during the week but that weekends were the bane of my LC existance. I got through THIS one, however, without incident and I am riding comfortably in my size 8s. I refuse to weigh myself until Aunt Flo is gone in a couple of days. I find that when I need to move things along I have flaxseed meal for breakfast a couple of days in a row and I really try to put the water away... usually does the trick.

Peg!!! I LOVE your picture, how wonderful to 'see' you - and you are as beautiful as I imagined! I can't wait to see your new posts - hang in there with the new commitment - it is darned hard, I've done it many times - but I really, really, want to get to goal weight before I'm heavy (no pun intended) into bathing suit weather... that is just about 13 pounds to go. One a week would be about what I'm hoping... I know it's too lofty but what the hey!

Elyssa must be busy! I hope all is going well.

Here are the weekend numbers:
Saturday:
calories: 1269
fat: 102 (73%)
carbs: 40-5=35 (11%) - I know, too high...
protein: 51 (16%)
water: 64 oz.

Sunday:
calories: 1273
fat: 97 (69%)
carbs: 35-11=24 (8%)
protein: 74 (23%)
water: 72 oz.

Today is looking fine and dinner shouldn't kill me - it's leftovers.

Hope you are all fine!

Hugs,
Rachel
