Hey Judy! (And all!)

Congratulations to your kids and their teacher!! You must have been really psyched. I remember times like that. They really pump you up, and then (3 hours home I read on the other thread), you must have been ready to crash when you hit the bed! Welcome home!

Today was our annual meeting and I was mightily affirmed by the leaders of the church. It was really wonderful. Also wonderful that I could take it in!

DH is doing fine. He has a HUGE bandage on the side of his head and is getting tired of answering questions about it. But, oh well... I'm washing his hair for another week each morning, but other than that, there are no restrictions.

I weighed 173.6 this morning. Haven't seen this number for a couple of months. I was pretty happy.

Tomorrow morning I go for my evaluation for invisible braces. I'll let you know if I am a candidate.

Peace, Peg

Thanks for the congratulations Peg and Elyssa. Yes, I was pooped when I got home. I finally got to bed after 1:00 and then slept until 11:00. Needless to say, I skipped church this morning. The worst part of the drive was the construction on the interstate during the last hour. By that time the kids were asleep, and I was beginning to fade. I finally told a couple of them that they had to stay awake and talk to me. Of course the Led Zepplin CD they came up with helped, too. Today, I went out of the house one time --- just long enough to take the keys and trip report back to drop slot at the bus barn. Last night it was just too late and too cold to finish paperwork. (NOOO, I didn't have to drive a bus -- just one of the vans).

Peg, I'm glad your DH is doing better, and I'm glad to hear that you've not eaten your way through the problems.

Elyssa --- teacher homework! Oh yes, I can sympathize. I always hate to see what awaits me when I return from a trip. It will take days to finish off the paper work from this one and start the processes over for the next round at the end of the month.

Ok, back to the point of the thread --- After being with kids for two solid days, I get to report that I did pretty good. There are times when Atkins bars will save the day, and this was one of them. Over the two days, I had two breakfast bars and one advantage bar. It was certainly better than succumbing to the junk food that was readily available for nervous eating. So, today's results are in:

Weight: 137
Calories: 1642 (LC comfort foods for exhaustion)
Fat:120(69%)
Carbs: 35-16= 19 net(5%)
Protein: 104(27%)
Water: not even close, but darn sure better than the last couple of days!

Judy,

You are doing so well 137. I don't weigh until tomorrow morning so I am not sure how I will do.

Congrats on making with all the kids and not eat what they are eating.

Just stopping in.
Admitted DH to the hospital this morning. He feels fine, just bleeds all over the place. They are going to FINALLY try to get this thing settled! Only been three weeks.

Weighed 174.8 this morning. Undoubtedly because no water yesterday! Took four bottles to the hospital. Then, left them there! Though I'm going back.

Peace, Peg

Hi gang.... I'm sort of a dope here and posted to the January thread and was wondering where everyone was!! D-uoh!

Peg... congrats on the church re-affirmation - although we could have told you around here that you are loved and appreciated (I know, ain't quite the same!!

Here's the post I put on the Jan thread, sorry to repeat it!...

quote:
Hi All!!

Elyssa...I hope the protein things makes a difference. My DH is having a tough time losing this time around - in part because he has not stuck to strict induction to get things rolling again, but in other part because we are realizing that he is getting too much protein (especially in relation to the fat he is getting) - so we're going to try and change that, too.

Judy... what AWESOME news!! I was really thinking of these kids. You know we get so much bad press these days about the school in America and yet there are always lots of stories like this one... Of course I'm biased given all the teachers in my family and extended family! Many congratulations are in order to you for working so hard with them and providing the kind of support that is crucial for them at this age - you are a hero!

Well... I'm back at 144 and don't seem to be budging... these are Sunday's and Monday's numbers:

2/1 (Happy Feb... ooops, should I be posting this on another thread??)
calories: 1245
fat: 93 (68%)
carbs: 30-6=24 (8%)
protein: 73 (24%)
water: 64oz (too low)

2/2
Calories: 1138
Fat: 69 (55%)
Carbs: 34-9=25 (9%) a little high for induction, gulp.
Protein: 100 (36%) also too high - I should be at 75g or under
Water: 72 oz (better but not as high as I'd like.

Well guys... hoping everyone had a good weekend and survived the uh, Big Game!

Not much time tonight......

Thanks to all for your good wishes and congratulations. We got our state ranking today. We enter the state contest ranked #12 of 25. That's where we were last year too. We're going to have to kick it up a notch to get into the top 10 -- where we have finished for the last two years.

Today's report:
Weight: 137.5
Calories: 1578
Fat:116(66%)
Carbs: 83-32= 51 net(13%)

Whoa! I can't believe that I am the only one today! I weighed in at 176 today. Sheesh!

DH is home. Released last night. It looks as though they may have this thing licked. Doctors upon Doctors saw him. Even had a passle of Interns come in with the Hematologist. Kind of cool.

Today a work day and full! Tomorrow the same.

Peace, Peg

Hospital and ER rooms are pretty expensive, Peg. Is the doctor that failed to give him the appropriate medicine liable for these "incidents." Or, will they say as a hemophiliac it was his responsibility to see that the doctor gave him the appropriate meds first? Our insurance company from two years back defaulted on our entire group's payments and it has been in court all this time. DH went today to a settlement meeting to turn in our bills and make sure that they are to be paid. He was also told that the doctor's office was not to have turned the information to collection agencies or the credit bureau ---it is illegal ---they did. I'm glad to have it all on the way to being cleared up. We are going to ask for a written statement to the credit bureau to clear up both ours and DD's otherwise clear credit reports.

Today's report later........

Happy February Everyone!

Well, it's finally warmed up from -25 to -8 today, so we are feeling warm. Yikes. It's been two weeks of below zero temps. I can't wait for warmer weather.

Congrats to your kids, Judy! That's very exciting. I bet it keeps you feeling young to be around all of those young, talented kids. Also congrats on not cheating. I think it's hardest when you get to goal, because you feel like you can cheat more easily and not gain. Great job!

Peg -- It is so nice that you got such much-deserved recognition. I am sure they are very lucky to have you there. I am so sorry about your DH. I am glad he went into the hospital and they finally took care of things. I hope the braces work out. My son needs some. The invisible option would sure be nice.

Rachel -- I thought I was the only one who did things like that (where is everyone?)!!

I got all the way down to 221 on the weekend. Then I (rather inexplicably) regained two pounds -- one on Sunday and one on Monday. The only difference in my eating is that I had a bratwurst instead of a hamburger pattie and that I made my cauliflower "fauxtatoes" with cream cheese instead of parmeson cheese. I am holding at 223 even though I didn't eat strictly on plan last night because I went to a business dinner. I didn't do too badly, but you never know what is in the sauces, etc.

I am going to drink a lot of water and stick to the plan. I hope those two pounds go away again. I really want to break that "decade" mark and get beyond 220. It makes me feel so much better.

I haven't gotten up the nerve to ask my daughter's instructor about me taking lessons yet. I will try to find a time when she has a few extra minutes.

I bought the "Keto-tatoes" mix today at the store. I tried them tonight. I think I like my cauliflower fake mashed potatoes better. They really filled me up, however. I couldn't eat much else because they were so filling.

I also just got my Sharon Long cookbook in the mail from Amazon. I can't wait to try some recipes. I will let you know my favorites.

I haven't posted in awhile. I've been busy. Too many things to do this month. I've been working on my notebook for promotion, evaluation forms, grading tests and homework. And I need to make up some tests for next week.

Monday:
Total: 1129
Fat: 77 62%
Carbs: 37 6%
Fiber: 20
Protein: 88 32%

Tuesday:
Total: 1188
Fat: 80 62%
Carbs: 45 9%
Fiber: 20
Protein: 83 29%

Wednesday:
Total: 1518
Fat: 109 64%
Carbs: 60 10%
Fiber: 22
Protein: 101 26%

Thursday:
Total: 1376
Fat: 87 57%
Carbs: 98 13%
Fiber: 55
Protein: 104 30%

I did good with the protein levels for several days, but the past two days, I have gone beyond the 90. That's because I didn't plan the day. I don't know how this has affected the weight, cause I haven't weighed for a couple of days. Last time, I was 144. So, I'll weigh-in in the morning.

Judy, congrats on doing so well food-wise on the trip.

Rachel, we'll see tomorrow if this works or not. Although, the last two days, I have gotten in a little more protein. I find it hard to stay at 90. But, I'll just have to plan my meal tomorrow.

Peg, I hope your DH is doing much better and that they have finally gotten things right.

Law, here's hoping that those pounds have said goodbye. So, have you talked the instructor yet?

Nothing like someone starting a thread and then leaving it flat..... Like Elyssa, I've been deep in the paperwork this week. I hate to sound like an echo, but:

Peg--hope your DH is doing better. Teach him to be more forceful with a doctor that won't give him Factor 8 before he even has a hang nail removed.

Law-- It's good to have you back with us. You started these threads and we've just kept them going waiting for you to come back to the fold. I'm glad things are moving in the right direction.

Rachel -- Where are you girl? We haven't heard from you all week. Entertaining again?

Elyssa -- Good luck on the notebook. I have tests tomorrow myself. That's kind of good news ad news. The good news is that I don't have to actively try to pour knowledge in their heads, the bad new is that I have to grade and then do updated averages. I did have one of those "I can't believe I never thought of this before" kind of ideas today for my Decathlon kids. I think it's going to be a keeper for working on speeches.

Today's high numbers:
Weight: 137
Calories: 1764
Fat:136(70%)
Carbs: 78-30= 48 net(11%)
Protein:83(19%)
Water: not even close to enough

I am happy to see some posts. There was a whole day with no posts. Must be a first for this topic.

Purple--your numbers look REALLY good. I hope you see a drop for all your efforts.

Judy--you're doing great on maintenance.

I saw 222 this morning, so I felt happy. I've been eating well, even though I haven't gotten back to tracking.
