| Good Morning everyone! I hope everyone's weekend is going well. Saturday, we drove out to Addison to see the orchid show at Hauserman's Orchids. We go almost every year. I am now focused on taking pictures of the lovely orchids of all sizes and colors, instead of buying them. They had free food, donuts and coffee in the morning and I think hot dogs in the afternoon. I asked for some water, but didn't have anything else. I brought food along for when it was time for me to eat. We also stopped at Costco, had lunch at Chipotle, went to see "Mystic River", and stopped at 2 Best Buy's and Circuit City. Our trip is in about 3 weeks. As far as the weight loss goes, I keep myself focused in several ways. First of all, I have several forms of accountability. I continue to go to WW meeting every week. I know that I will have that WI on Tuesday, so it keeps me "good" on weekends. Also, I have my 6-Week makeover WI on Saturday, along with checking measurements, so that helps with the week-day tempations. I post my journal on this discussion board, as well as another, for all to see, so that, to me is a form of accountability. I also email my journal to 6 people, some of whom think that what I do should be emmualted. I know that when I am making my food choices. Also, I don't have children in the house, so I don't "have" to keep junk food around. I am not tempted by most LC substitute foods. I like seafood and LC veggies. I think all of this helps me stay on path. Now, I do think that if I were doing just CALP without the WW, I would choose more fatty food. If I weren't doing the 6-week makeover, I would have bread and cheese and such (sometimes). But, this all keeps me on my path. | Happy Leap Day! Ilse, I will have ot check out your journal to see how you are working WW & LC together. I tried it when I first started LC, but it was not easy for me to do. I stopped counting points entirely when I started Adkins. I need ot do something to shake up my system. I have been yoyoing the same 2-4 pounds for months now. I had a conference to attend in the Cincinnati area on Friday. They had all sorts of sugar loaded junk for breakfast. I had taken a LC bar with me so I ate half of that instead. They did not provide lunch so we ate at Applebee's and I had salad and Fench onion soup (without the bread). For a snack they had wonderful smelling cookies. I was able to resist that by sucking on a chocolate Velvamint. My DH picked me up (I rode with a coworker) and we went to spend the night in Ind. I ate dinner at the hotel buffet. I had a large salad, crab legs and shrimp. I did splurge on dessert and I ate a piece of sf cheese cake with some berry medly. It was delicious. Breakfast at the same place was scrambled eggs and ham and some more berries. We stopped at O'Charley's on the way home and I choose chicken cordon bleu from their LC menu and I had chicken wings. Everything was going fine for me and LC eating, but last night I ate a Little Debbie Boston creme roll. I never should have bought them in the first place. The kids do not like them and I knew I would eat one Brenda, I am like you about violence in movies. I cannot watch it. I am relying on others to tell me all about the movie. I know if I watched it I would have nightmares for months. It is suppose to be in the low 60s today so I am going to get outside to mess around in the yard and enjoy the sunshine. | Hi all! Just finished the service and the church is empty. After a hospital call, I'm going shopping!! I, too, can't abide violence either in the movies or on TV. But, because of my work I needed to see the movie. I went Wednesday afternoon. Without getting into religion (which I DON'T want to do!) I'll say that it has taken me this long to be able to even talk about it with any reason. I have to lead a church wide discussion on the movie at the end of March. By then I am hoping that I will be able to read the reviews and the scholarly coments on the movie with some objectivity. I didn't sleep Wednesday night because every time I closed my eyes I saw the scenes in the movie. So far my imagination hasn't used it in dreams. I shudder to think how it will. Food has been good. This morning I weighed in at 173.8. Yesterday at 172.2. I like the lookes of 172 better but I know that the two are not far apart. I'm hoping to push water today and maybe see 172 again before long. See ya all later! Peg 1/1/03 205/173/155 5'8" |

Good afternoon all! We had a fabulous time dancing and dining! We went to Starbucks after for a decaf and conversation! On our way back we may have spotted an office condo to buy for our business! It was exciting to consider the possibilities! The location is exceptional! The building brand new! My business partner and I were wandering around at 11:30pm looking in windows with our husbands. I can imagine if someone had called the police on us! So we shall see! I am with Brenda on the violence issue...my kids always ask "how many times did mom hide her eyes?" some movies they ask"did mom even open her eyes during the movie". But I have learned a valuable lesson. In Israel, I was debating on whether to bring my team to Yad Vashem, the Holocuast museum. I decided I would because reality was an important teacher in all its ugliness and graphic display. To this day I still have flashbacks of the horror. The confrontation with reality bore deep into my soul transforming me and awakening me to realities we have long since sanitized. I do not watch violence in television or movies or music that we so freely make-up to enjoy..I am a wimp and my heart grieves for the abominable behavior we so freely derive boxoffice success from its fictional portrayal! Reality has violence however, that can humanize , warn and shake us from our complacency! ( not all violence...not at all times) Ok enough of the philosphy May you all have a great day Deborah started 3/02 171/137/137 5'9"

Hi everybody, It's another beautiful day, sunny and in the 50's. Had a good week, eating on plan. I'm being tempted to indulge in something though, a little treat of some kind. The grocery store near home, Jewel, now has mashed cauliflower and broccoli augraten in the deli. Also the bake shop is making low carb cookies. The main ingredient is malitol thouugh. So I'll try to hold off on those for now. The selection of LC ice cream is growing. With Carb Smart and Breyers now competing with Atkins for market share. The choices are growing nicely. Have a great LC week! gregg 196/181/170 recommited 1/4/04 keep on keepin' on!

Yeah, Deb. I have to agree with you about Yad Vashem. It was a trip that stays with me to this day and it was 13 years ago. IMHO, Mel Gibson's movie doesn't even come close to the pathos and depth of that experience. IMHO it is Mel Gibson's movie and one man's idea of piety. His. There I go, getting wound up again! Dang! Sorry. I'll let this go..... Peace, Peg 1/1/03 205/173/155 5'8"

Hey there everyone! I have definitely been mia for quite awhile. I just finished my fps (in other words, I am wonderful let me list everything that I have done in the last year to show you) and written a letter for someone's notebook. That was all due this last week. Now, I have to finish my notebook, which covers the last two years, for my promotion. This is due on Friday. I've spent the entire weekend grading tests, homework papers for five different classes, typing two review sheets and solutions, typing notes, and working on this notebook. So, I didn't even get to enjoy this weather in the 60's, except for yesterday when I went grocery shopping. When, Friday gets here, most of this work will be done. Then I can focus on my normal workload, like preparing four tests for next week. But, hey two weeks and then I can enjoy spring break, well after I grade those tests and prepare notes for one class. I can report some good news though. I am at an all time low of 141. I also went and bought some clothes, goodys was having a 60% off clearance sale. I was looking for spring clothes and they actually had spring skirts on the clearance racks. I bought two skirts, both size 6 (have been wearing 8), for about $3 a piece. Can't beat that. 220/142/135 7 to go!
