| Uh..... ok, here is is..... try #2. (FYI -- the cradle was built by my dad. The Raggedy Ann and Andy were made for DD by my mom. A BIG set of Raggedy dolls that Mom also made has been in the cradle for years. DD informed me that it was time to put them away. I just couldn't put up all of them. The big dolls' clothes as well as the bumpers in the cradle were peach/pink flowers. In the spirit of new decorating, I covered the bumpers and sheet to coordinate everything with the new scheme. The big dolls now live in the top of the closet.) |

| Just darling, Judy! I'm glad you have that guest room done. I need to schedule a visit now! Too bad we are "several" miles (and states) apart! Brenda: It's time to post now. Everyone but Judy and I must be having a busy weekend. It's going to be over 70 degrees today! Whoopee! Gotta go to church! Peace, Peg

| Argh. Sorry. I've been busy, grumpy, and unaccountably tired/headachy this week. Usually two out of three is fine, thank you. DH came home from Floriday Thursday. We got a few things accomplished this weekend, including getting a load of old things out of the attic and shed for the annual "anything goes" pickup by the village. It generated only one minor tiff over what to toss. Tiffs must be in the air again, too! I am admiring all the work that is getting done by everyone else here, though. TB, congrats on the amazing amount of work done on your house and yard. Wow! I'm sure you'll find absolutely the best RE agent by your careful interviewing. Judy, the room looks just wonderful. Love the cradle and display above. You've pulled it together wonderfully. Lauri, talk about busy. Moving is the ultimate. KC, I've heard a bit about EMDR, but never seen it practiced. It's one of those things that you can't imagine working, but somehow it often does, like EFT. I suppose because out bodies and minds are so closely linked that effecting the body can change the mind or mindset. Donna, a massage sounds wonderful right now!! A good massage would undoubtably improve my mindset, speaking of that! My next "home" project is picking new plantings for the bed between the garage and sidewalk leading to our front door. It's about 17' by 32 inches, and last week Dad pulled out the old scraggly spirea. I think I want perennials only, but too many choices! Still haven't heard a final conclusion on Khaki's biopsy. They needed to do some extra stains on the specimen, but have told me it's not cancer. I hate waiting! Other than that, I have a two of special orders to do and am going to treat myself to a couple of new tools Hope you all are having a nice Sunday, whether working, relaxing, or both.

| Still in a whirlwind here. Saturday, my friend's contractor came to remove the cracked paving in front of my house (it was damaged last year by the construction crew across the street). I asked him to remove an old, ugly brick post next to the driveway. There was a similar one between my house and the neighbor's house that was supposed to stay. But, due to a misunderstanding, he knocked that one down, too. I had to go smooth it over with the lady next door by promising to plant a Japanese maple in its place. The contractor showed up 2 hours late, which put my day behind schedule. But, he's a great guy, and he was doing me a favor to take on such a small job anyway. So I helped load the broken brick and concrete in his truck and got all sweaty and dank. My stylist took one look at my stringy hair and decided I needed a shorter haircut. The new style looks kind of like Peg's hair in her atavar, but not so full and fluffy. So far, I like it; although I'm not used to having no hair framing my cheeks. Today, DH and I cleared out our office so it can be painted tomorrow. Lots of PILES of paper to go through and sort into keep or recycle piles. Plus, the office is also a catch-all spot, so there was lots of junk, surplus furniture, and miscellaneous accessories to relocate. We had only a few pretty minor tiffs (a huge improvement over last week). Judy, your room looks so attractive. The cradle is wonderful! Won't it be fun when DS or DD needs it for a little one? I wish I had your touch with pulling a look together. I used to be quite good at that when I was younger, but I seem to have lost my knack for it. BC, the planting sounds like a very rewarding project. I prefer shrubs and perennials, although I do like to stick in a few annuals here and there for an extra color boost, when needed. BC, I'm glad they've ruled out cancer for Khaki, but I'm sure the uncertainty is really unnerving. Fingers and paws crossed for good news soon (XX & xxxx).

| Brenda: (((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))) Here for you, my dear! Maybe you can get yourself out into the sun (when it decides to show itself). My psychiatrist (long ago) told me to go out as soon as the sun begins to show and let it get into my retinas. That is what lifts the mood and gets the serotonin pumping. (Of course, now that I'm old, I have no serotonin!) (And, of course, other reading, I don't mean to stare into the sun) Judy: Hope this week goes well for you. It's Spring Break here and I went to the church Saturday night to bless 32 Sr Hi kids and 8 counselors as they took off for a work camp in Jamaica! They will be working in a poverty stricken part of the country, far away from resorts. It will be so good for them. But, I was struck at how Senioritis has struck big time. I bet it has for your kids too. TB: I'm so glad that your cleaning out and rearranging is going well. Also glad that the tiffs are de escalating. I love it when that happens. Where are you getting your energy, girl? I can't believe that you loaded bricks and concrete! Sheesh. "Fell into the cookie plate" (snort) I love it! Sundays are becoming a real trial for me. I simply can't (won't) stay away from the sugar! I give you credit for getting right back on course. Alida, Donna and Lauri: Whatcha doin these days? How's the WOL for you? How's Maintenance going? I am fuming today. Like an idiot I read my email before I went to bed and there was another message from the idiot in the church. I WAS able to sleep, though it took a couple of hours. This is such an old pattern for me. Surprised that it took two years for it to rear its ugly head. A MAN in the congregation decides that a WOMAN can't run a church, so he takes over and starts treating me patronizingly. I DON'T need this. My impulse is to quit. But, that would be so unfair to the church as a whole. No one knows that he is doing this to me. I have tried to be discreet. but, he is cutting me off at the knees. My bf (best friend in CA) suggested that I say, "Listen, I'm too old to fight for the soul of the church. You take over, and I will just provide preaching and worship." That is what he wants. He sees me as sort of a "chaplain." The bad part is that the staff sees me as the Administrator. I have carefully built a team among the staff. They have told me (each, privately) that if the philosophy changes, they will quit. Yikes! Sooo. That's what I am trying to forget today! Today is Patriot's Day in MA. The Boston Marathon is run today, so everyone who lives here stays home so that 3 million people can come to town for the Marathon. Businesses are closed, except for Merchants. We are closed. Anyway, it is my day off. It's a beautiful day, going to be in the 70's, which is hot for the runners. I'm going to go out and plant pansies. That's all we can plant so far, because of the looming threat of snow (always at this time of the year). We plant after Mother's Day, though the diehards wait until Memorial Day! Buds are on everything. So exciting. My flox are greening up and will, hopefully, be a beautiful purple before too long. The Maples have red pods on them, and will be greening out soon. Such a gorgeous time! I love it! Peace (yeah, for me too), Peg

| Peg, too bad it takes only one idiot to spoil a perfectly good day--sometimes it only takes half an idiot! (((hugs))) Hope you'll find an equitable solution for yourself--it sounds like a very uncomfortable situation. I am getting some sun finally. Nice thing about dogs is that they get you outside in all kinds of weather, including sun when it appears. We've been taking walks, and I've been using "potty time" to sit out in the sun a few minutes several times a day, in addition to a bit of yard work. I checked out a nursery today for some ideas, but I'm never sure how my "creative" gardening will work out. I usually have as many misses as hits, but I am going for plants that are low maintenance, sun and drought proof. TB, I am agog at all you've been accomplishing. Wow, good for you! Have you had any time to check out potential townhouses for yourself. With all the work you are doing, and the real estate market there, I have a feeling your home will not be on the market for long. I'll also bet you've built some new muscles. Judy, next time I decide to run away from home, I'll keep that new room of yours in mind Ok, I'm procrastinating, so off to do something or other

| Peg, We had an article in the paper yesterday about two women from here running in your Boston Marathon today. It seems that we have had at least one or two every year lately. So, re the guy that being a PIA...... have you just straight up confronted him and told him to butt out? He may be doing what he's doing because he thinks he can get away with it. If you call his hand, he may back off. (Of course I say that, and if it was me it would take a well planned speech to get it done.) What does you DH have to say about it? Maybe he can give you some insight. It appears to me that it might be better to lose one jerk member than to lose a whole congregation. Of course Pollyanna that I am, I forget that he probably has been there a long time and could be very influential among the members. Politics stinks! BC, good to have you back among us. A little sun seems to be doing you good. Did you hear from Khaki's doctor? The invitation is open. The next time you decide to run away from home, come on down. I doubt that people will think to look for you in Texas. Teel, thanks for the compliment on the room. I so enjoy doing that kind of stuff. It drives DH crazy. But, over the last few years, he has learned that if he just backs off and lets me do a few things life is much happier. I almost envy you and all your clean out and upcoming move. There is so much to do on both sides ..... getting ready to sell, selling, buying and then moving. That would be enough projects to keep me happy for a long long time. And, as you have discovered........... projects keep you out of the kitchen. Congratulations on keeping the weight down. |

| Judy, we just heard a few hours ago about Khaki. Still lots to be learned since the phone call was brief and I don't have the report with all the technicalities to research, but Khaki has "significant liver degeneration" with "some changes" The internist said she'll recommend dietary modifications, some meds, and retest in 2-3 months to my vet, whom I'll probably hear from tomorrow. And hopefully ask more of the important questions I should have asked this evening.Meanwhile, I've been working like a wild woman since about 3pm and really have to stop now. One of my best customers called about 2:30 wanting a special bracelet to give as a gift and a necklace to match a pair of earrings--if I could make them by Wednesday. She's so nice and so supportive of my work I had to try. That's in addition to the two other bracelets I'd promised, of course, LOL. Good thing these are all simple pieces, but they still take time. Maybe I'll get some pictures tomorrow.

| Hi all! Just back from Chicago and have a full day planned today to catch up. We are just starting our busy season (3M window film) and I dread it. I love the winter months when it's slow. I can PUTTER. No $$ then, but I don't need much of that to putter! And now that Spring's here, there's so much to do outside and in . . . and work to boot. So major changing of gears here. Didn't have much time to check all the back posts -- I'll do that later. But the big news is that Chicago Pizza puts on about 5 pounds, LOL. I know it's mostly water, but I think I will TRY to do a few induction days. Sigh. I'll check in later when I have more time to respond to all your great posts! Who's Khaki? Your dog? Cat?

| Well, I'm not really catching up--just picking up where I left off. Like Alida, I've been away. And (like Alida :fork: ) I'm back on induction for a while to detox the travel damage. Had a wonderful time in Austin, where the weather, the food, and the hospitality were all splendid. Peg, I'm sorry for the persecution. This morning at my regular Tuesday Breakfast Bible study, I was listening to complaints about the pastor "chasing" a member away, and making other unpopular decisions. What a hotseat! Hang in there. I celebrated the Boston Marathon by signing up for a 5K in June in KC. It's the shortest race of several here that day, including the Hospital Hill Half Marathon, which is the national championship for both men and women this year. It's a killer--lots and lots of uphill sections. I usually help with registration, too. I didn't run last year, and felt "left out" at the finish line. No matter how slow you are, crossing a finish line is a great feeling. Hello and be well, everyone. |

| BC: I'd love to see some of your work. So, please, post the pictures. Hope Khaki is going to be okay. I'd hate it if something happened to my two girls. We drove 52 miles last night for hubby to have his first slowpitch game of the season. When we got there we found out that the city had ripped out most of the fields and were making new ones and there is no where for us to play. I was one unhappy camper. There is no place for us to play Thursday night either. This city is called The Tournament Capital....and they don't have the fields ready? What makes us mad is we have to pay to use these fields. So, Thursday we are playing on a school field. Not quite the same. It's a beautiful park where we usually play so I'm going to miss that. Did manage to get a little shopping done...just groceries. I was out of low carb ice cream (I do manage to just have a little now and again), and some BBQ sauce. My friend on the team had heard about me losing my Dad in November, and she is growing me a plant for me to remember him by. It's called a Toad Lily. Just gorgeous. I can't wait for it to be ready to be planted. I thought that was such a nice gesture. It's the most gorgeous day here today. Way to nice to waste my time at work! I'm into sandals and light jacket now....yes....I've been waiting for this since October of last year. Next will come barefeet and I'll be sooooo happy. I had to cut the grass for the second time on Sunday. Nothing makes me feel so good as to be outside. I've always said I should have gotten a job at the Parks Board so I could be outside, but then what would I do in the winter? I'm still maintaining my weight. I had a stupid woman at lunch tell me that I couldn't eat this way forever and that I needed fat in my diet. Little does she know about low carb. I told her that yes, I could and would eat this way the rest of my life. I look and feel better than I have in years. She also has a weight problem but won't try the diet, and it was on the tip of my tongue to say something, but I bit my tongue and decided I didn't have to be mean. When people talk about things they no nothing about it just annoys me. She said she couldn't do the diet cause she doesn't like cheese. Does she really think I live on cheese? Sheesh!! Well, I'm sure I'm pushing this and the big boss man should be walking in the door any minute. Hope everyone is enjoying the Spring weather like I am. I'm sending lots of this gorgeous sunshine to everyone. Enjoy!!

| What does this say about the state of my WOE and the state of my mind? I just came back from Wal-Mart with: 10 containers of Blue Bunny Carb Freedom yogurt (that's a standard breakfast item -- I was just out) 1/2 gallon Blue Bunny Carb Freedom Butter Pecan Ice Cream AND A bag of Carb Focus guacamole flavored "corn" chips. And let me tell you those chips are good. About 12 chips are a serving and I stood right there in the kitchen eating them and dip (before I could even get the rest of the groceries put up) until I had easily eaten the 12 for a serving. Uh........ stress, tired, hormones?? And I've been wondering why I can't seem to get rid of the 5 pounds that I have regained. I do wonder if part of it is the HRT. The hot flashes have gone away, but it seems that they were doing somethign to burn off some fat. Which is worse being fat(er) and no hot flashes or being a wrinkly old hot flashing skinny woman. I NEED SOME MOTIvATION THAT IS NOT FOUND IN THE BOTTOM OF THE ICE CREAM CONTAINER! Help me oh wise ones.............. |

| STEP AWAY FROM THE ICE CREAM, JUDY; STEP AWAY FROM THE CHIPS AND NO ONE WILL GET HURT. (And neither fat, cool women nor wrinkly flashing skinny women need them, anyway) Judy, honestly though, it's been my experience that there will be times when I can have LC goodies around and be perfectly sane, and there will be times when the ice cream gets eaten in the car on the way home with the chips as topping. Donna, some people just aren't going to get it, and you are probably wise in this case just not to get into it. What a shame about your fields! That leaves a lot of people without recreation facilities. Barb, Alida, how nice to hear from you! Nice for you both to do some traveling, and I know it's always nice to get home, too. Barb, you go, girl! I'd fall over my feet in the first block of a run. Alida, ah yes the famous Chicago Deep Dish :cook: Glad you could enjoy some of our local specialty OK, I took pictures, but need to resize them. Thanks for the encouragement (like I need much, LOL). Hugs to all!
