Hi all! Off to bed now. Got my posts in today. Also was able to eat lc, except for wine with dinner. Didn't drink enough water, but hoping for the best.

Feeling good. DD im'd me that she is going to apply for jobs here in the MA area. I'm stoked! It would be so good for the gkids to be close to us. Good for her too, but I don't want to push that with her.

Good to see you all posting. Keep writing to let us know how your recommitment is going.

Looking back at my recommitment goals, I DO think that I got in 80 ozs of water. I was thinking I had said 100 ozs.

Peace, Peg

Well, I seem to be having memory issues again, LOL!!

I did remember to think some nice things during yoga class this morning--like how it wasn't totally embarassing any more if my belly button happened to peak out when I'm upside down

I'll work on some some other nice things before bed.....

Peg, Sharron, Mon, sounds like you all are on track.

Count me in, as of today.

I'll leave here in about 20 minutes for my first Curves session. My goals for recommitment are:

1. Curves three times each week.
2. Walking 45 minutes four times each each (the days I don't do Curves).
3. No low carb products.
4. No eating after 7:00pm.
5. Do the "Firm" and/or "Sweatin' to the Oldies" tape(s) twice per week (no snickering about the Richard Simmons tape, people...I like the music...).

This will be a challenge for me. I'm going to HAVE to make time to do these things for ME. Everyone else seems to come first, but I'll have to fit these things in between kids, husband, work, and home life.

I mean, this is MY life, right?

I'll check in from time to time...

This week went well as far as my water and eating were concerned but the exercising was nil. I did stay late at work most nights to make up from being off sick on Monday so that's the main reason. The big challenge this weekend is getting in my water. I don't have problems during the week as I sip it at my desk all day long but the weekends are a different story. I'm running around so much and I usually end up leaving my water bottle sitting by the door when I leave the house. Like BC says, developing new habits takes time.

Happy Saturday!

Holding steady at 167.5 this morning... so far today, I've had my vitamins, an egg, cheese, & sour cream omelette, and some bacon. Also, about 48 oz. of water.

It's a gorgeous, sunny day here...DH and I are going to go for a walk before he leaves for work. Then, I plan to wash my car and weed the yard...always a decent workout.

Happy to hear everyone doing so well...CHEERS!

Welcome, April!!!! So glad to see you!! Those are some hard goals you have set. Are you sure you want to do all that??

Sounds like everyone is doing well. Recommitment is not easy, is it? I'm finding that my teeny goal of writing to the other forums takes up valuable time that I didn't think I had. But, it is also a part of regaining the discipline that I was fast losing by having just a "little bit of this and a little bit of that." It's not the writing that is important. It is the commitment to do it and following through that is important.

I knew I felt a woosh coming on and it came this morning. I woke up more than pound lighter. Because it was 172.8, I'm claiming 172. I haven't seen this number yet, so it is very welcome around here! I am psyched that I may be in the 160's pretty soon. I've been in the 170's for months. But, I have to admit that it is because I have cheated often.

Well, I'm off to finish up writing and planning for tomorrow. Happy weekend everyone.

Peace, Peg

Hi all!

April, welcome. Yes, yes, yes, this is YOUR life. Using some of your time and energy for yourself is far from selfish. When you are well balanced as a person, you actually have more to give others. Operating from a place of deficit only leads to more deficit and something eventually gives, resulting in all kinds of unintended problems--anger, depression, resentment, disconnection, etc.

You are very much worth any and all efforts you make to be a whole, healthy, happy person. As are we all.

Esther, I'm having a heck of a time remembering my commitments, too. I guess we keep plugging until it comes together.

Peg, good for you for keeping your commitment on the board. Even though it does take effort. And you will find that while you are benefiting by keeping this commitment, others will benefit too, by your experience. It's a win-win situation

AJ: Thanks for letting us know!! And good luck to you. Isn't this a great website that we can all find our niche??

Brenda: How did you get to be so darn wise?? Thos are great words above. Sounds like you are working hard on your own goal.

April: How are you doing? It's so great to see you.

Monica: How are you doing too?

Esther, Sharron, Judy, Michele: So good to have heard from you. I applaud you Sharron do avoid dairy even though it doesn't test as an allergy. I don't think I could have that discipline.

I'm sure thinking of Judy this weekend. She's off with her really bright students to the academic Olympics. They are a group of winners, and she is their coach.

How ya doin Esther and Michele?

Talk to you later,
Peg

I'm doing okay. Thanks for asking.

I went to Curves Saturday morning, ate on plan all day, went out with friends and got in bed at 1:45am exhausted.

Got back up this morning and felt awful (still exhausted), but did all the housework and laundry and taking kids various places, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Didn't get my walking in today, but I will tomorrow morning. Ate completely on plan, however.

Feeling better now that it will be bed time in a while.

What about everyone else?

I completely blew it last night at dinner at church. It was our once a month pizza dinner for the confirmands (8th graders). I had three pieces of pizza topped off by a Klondike bar. I had NO WILLPOWER. NONE. ZILCH. NADA.

Oh well, today is another day. I did all my recommitment goals yesterday except for that dip into carbs and sweets. My sweets cravings have been fierce!

I'll check in later.
Peace, Peg

Peg, I think you face more temptations in your line of work than most of us do--food temptations, that is When I have to do an event, I really have to pre-program myself with positive affirmations of handling the situation, eating well, graciously refusing, and being totally self-confident. I find when I practice in my mind I handle these things better. Eventually, this too, becomes a habit. Not that something still can't take me by surprise once in a while....

Peg, any idea why you are having such cravings? That is rough

Congrats on getting into a 12!!! I couldn't get the reply button to load on that thread, so I'll do it here

I'm feeling better. It was definitely the cheese. I'll be avoiding that!

April, might I suggest that you just do Curves and walking? If you really feel like doing the tapes, then so be it, but Curves all by itself is a great workout and lots of fun my 2 cents...

I'm plugging along. Almost back to where I was before I ate the cheese. TOM is looming too, so that is a factor as well.

Blessings!
