| Wow Law1! You really had a low carb, low eating day!! Well, I made up for it for you. I did well throughout the day, but at dinner at church it was our once a month pizza dinner for the confirmands. I was going to eat only salad, but no luck. I couldn't resist the pizza and had 3 pieces!!! Then to top it off, I had a Klondike bar. Geez! I am up two pounds today. Going to push water and hope for the best. At least I'm at home where temptation is not so great. I'll check in later. Peace, Peg 1/1/03 205/174/155 5'8" |

| Hi Trackers, I'm back --- but just barely. We got in last night about 11:00 in the middle of a good old East Texas thunderstorm complete with giant lightening bolts. I was just glad that we didn't have to drive the whole 8 hours with that kind of weather. Today it was business as usual. I was up at 5:45 and out the door for a full day of school. You've heard about the teachers who show movies for the class activities....... yep, that was me today. They finished a movie that was started while I was gone. (It was on topic, not a waste of time.) My kids finished in a respectable position, but not as high as we wanted to be. We were assigned a #1 slot for speech and interview on Friday. The judges weren't "warmed up", and the kids felt it in their reactions. They really caved after those two events. Their essay (done before speech and interview) were marvelous and 4 of the 9 won top awards for them. The only other medal was one for interview. After sp/int, they were so down that it was impossible to get them into heavy review for the Saturday tests. Some of the kids had good marks on the seven tests from Saturday, even improving their scores and the overall team score from the regional contest, but it wasn't enough to overcome the ground we lost on Friday. We went out to dinner tonight and it's off to bed for me! Oh, and the good news........ I was still @ 137.5 this morning. | Judy -- I'm sorry your kids didn't do so well during the competition. It sounds like they worked hard and did well on the written work. I hope they feel good about that. Congrats to you for staying at your same weight even through stress and being so busy. I hope you get some sleep tonight! Peg -- I am so sorry you had a fall off the wagon. Here's hoping the water and good eating put you back on without too much pain. I tracked again today. Here are my stats: Calories: 1286 Fat: 91 (65%) Carbs: 13 (2%) Fiber: 5 Net Carbs: 8 Protein: 102 (32%) I dropped the water weight this morning, so I am back down to 221. My goal is to be 219 by the end of the week. Law1 Lowcarb since July 2001 296/211/150 |

| Hi all... sorry to have been incommunicado these last few days - we were offline - developing countries do things like change entire line systems and they take a bit of time to do them! You can't imagine all I got done while I couldn't get online!! LoL! I have not been tracking - just too many unusual ethnic foods this last week. I have focused on low carbing it though, and don't seem any worse for wear... still hovering at 142 but am thinking about getting a little more serious about the tracking - new month and all. Judy, sorry the kids ended up with a tough starting spot (first "ups" are always tough - in any event, sporting or not) but it sounds like they had an excellent experience over-all. You are a hero, really! Law, thanks for starting our March thread and my fingers are crossed for you seeing 219! I promise to get back to daily tracking.. maybe even tomorrow! ![]() Hugs, Rachel 165/142/128 Haec trutina errat. (Latin for,"There is something wrong with this scale".) |

| Hey there everyone! I am beginning to see some light. I am almost finished with the promotion notebook. YEA! I had a colleague and my division chair look through it today and they thought that it looked good. There are only a few things that I need to add to it and change. So that's good and will definitely get done by Friday. So, I have yet to start tracking again. I am, however, watching what I eat, and protein levels are probably still good. And, of course, I am still at that 141. 220/142/135 7 to go! |

| Here I am at bed time again. And, it's another day of no tracking. Like Elyssa, I have heavy school work this week. Missing school is almost not worth it. You have to plan for the absence, then recover for days afterward. But, spring break is next week. I should be back to normal by then.Judy 180/137-138(still a "work in progress")/135-138 "Even if at first you do succeed, you still have to work hard to stay there." -- Richard C. Miller |

| Oh, Elyssa! I forgot to tell you congratulations for getting the notebook done in time to make refinements. I'll bet the promotion is a no brainer for your supervisors. | Hi all: Eating has been just okay today. I'm depressed, lower than a bug's toe. It's not that I have overeaten, I just haven't spent much time paying attention to what I eat. I haven't done any snacking, but had a sandwich for lunch and tacos for dinner. Haven't had a lot of water today either. My dd is depressed. I talked to her yesterday and she has herself in such financial trouble that she could be in BIG trouble. She learned from her lawyer that her discrimination lawsuit can't go forward for a year because of PA's laws. She was so depressed that she was nearly immobile. I asked her what would happen if she didn't pay her rent and got kicked out of her house. She replied that she could move in with her boyfriend and give the kids to her ex huband. This ex being the one who is a paranoid schizophrenic. This ex being the one against whom she has a restraining order! It just sent me over the edge. I can't bail her out. Her debts go way beyond my finances. She doesn't even have health insurance for her or the kids. Her ex is not working either. He was also fired. However, he has had several interviews. She is sleeping away the days while the kids are in school. I didn't call her today. I don't think I can take any more of her depression for a few days. I'm at a conference for the next two days. Thank God I am working. If I were home now without a job I would be a lot worse off. Peace, Peg 1/1/03 205/173/155 5'8" |

| Oh Peg, what a sad situation for your daughter. Can she call her creditors and try to get her payments reduced? Lots of time if they know that she is making a sincere effort and not dodging them they will do something to help. How about applying for some assistance. Food stamps would allow her to funnel some of the money she does have to some of the bills. Medicaid can be a solution for the insurance. As for sleeping the day away.... that's not going to help the bills get paid. What about trying to get some income by temping? She might even luck into a permanent position. I can understand that she is depressed, and I know that you are worried about her. Maybe some concrete suggestions will help to get her up and moving. On a totally different subject --- I saw your question about your avetar on one of the other threads. Occassionally the server for the web page where I have your picture stored goes down. When it does, your picture will not show. As soon as the server is repaired and up again, your picture will come back. If you can't see it, no one can. Today's numbers --- really ugly! ![]() Weight: 138.5 Calories: 1744 Fat:119(61%) Carbs: 104-12= 92 net(21%) Protein:78 (18%) Water: not enough Judy 180/137-138(still a "work in progress")/135-138 "Even if at first you do succeed, you still have to work hard to stay there." -- Richard C. | Peg, I am so sorry for these tough times. Judy has made some excellent suggestions. It is always hard to look forward when you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders - I feel so bad for you and DD. Sometimes when life gets overwhelming it can only be handled one day at a time. I'm so sorry. Elyssa... I am so impressed that with all the hard work that you have managed to maintain your weight loss - this is fantastic. I find that it is hardest to maintain when I am feeling the pressures of a product, a serious deadline, or the like. It is when eating healthily is the toughest (for me). I am still not tracking... I have no good excuse - I have been maintaining at 142 and find that I am doing just great during the day but that during the evening meal I blow it - usually because we are out (a roll with dinner, a small dessert, a 'few' french fries, etc. I don't ever go crazy (like I used to) and I don't have the "oh well, blew it, just eat the whole d*mn thing" attitude which is why I'm maintaining not gaining - but I need to get focused. I am predicting a difficult weekend for a number of reasons - but am seriously thinking of reinducting or at least getting much more serious on Monday (March 8). We'll see how that goes. | Hi gang! So glad it is another day! I apologize for unloading all over you in this thread. I realize that I should probably keep this clear for tracking issues! Frankly, I know you all better than those on other thread, and I just came here first! No excuses other than that! I'm feeling much better this morning. I have a workshop this afternoon from 1-9 so will be busy doing that. Tomorrow it goes from 9-4, so will be busy then too. I talked to two good friends in different parts of the country this am on the phone. Got some good advice. Judy: Thanks for you suggestions. Actually, I've already done all that. Maybe I'll post on the Everything Else forum so you can have the whole story. It's a long one. This is the dd from whom I was cut off for six months last summer and fall. Her problems are immense. Rachel: Thanks for your empathy too. I do so appreciate talking to you. I'm maintaining pretty well. I am still at 173 this morning even though I didn't eat lc yesterday. I did exercise though. That probably helped. This morning I ate well, and will eat an lc lunch. I'm taking my almonds with me along with my water. I don't know what dinner will be. Probably something with gravy. It's at a church. (Yikes!) Please know that I'm up more today. I feel better, and less connected to her mood. That's where I need to be. Love to you all, Peg 1/1/03 205/173/155 5'8" |

Exactly where one is standing. --track“a·ble adj. --track“er n. I do not see one thing that says that tracking includes only diet count updates. I think keeping track of our friends and all their problems is absolutely appropriate.
