| Alida: It has taken me the better part of a year to decide on veneers. Lots of "do I deserve it" stuff. I have a small inheritance from my Mom that I have already used much of to renovate and do stuff in the house. But, I keep going back to the reality that every time I spend "my" money on the house, I avoid talking the Scotsman I live with into using the $ that we have budgeted for maintenance. It is there. He just believes that it should (all of it!!) be saved. Arrgh. I still struggle with spending the $, but the appt. is Wednesday of this week. When I made it it seemed years away. I have promised myself, no plastic surgery of any kind. Peace, Peg

| Yes, Peg....go for it! So, I don't think I'll get to do it soon, but hoping to maybe in 2007 before my 35th HS reunion. Can we say *vain*??? ...guess it is, in a way!Seriously, I don't think I would EVER do that much major plastic surgery, but a little eye lift is definitely in my plans....at some point. So for the derrier, breasts and abdomen, I will keep on with the exercise and hope Mother Nature will help me out a bit...LOL. Hope everyone is having a good weekend! Later, ladies ![]() Shelley

| The day has finally come when I am grateful to come to work. Sound crazy? I have air conditioning at work and not at home. This weekend our temperatures went to 102F with not a breath of wind. Today it will go to 101F..not much of a change. So, I sit here with the air going and quite enjoying it. I spent most of the weekend outside, taking many breaks to go and sit in the shade. I just couldn't get enough to drink or have it cold enough. Nothing helped...water, cold drinks. Anyway, the front yard is finally weeded. I transplanted 72 snapdragons down the walkway too. That should bring me some colour. Then I cut the grass, weeded, and started in on the painting job that I had to stop due to cold weather. It's definitely coming around, but like any gardener, I'll never be satisfied. Shelley: I have no idea how to post pictures. I suppose I should learn how to use our digital camera, but that would take time and I just don't have any to spare right now. I also had plantar fascitis...nothing is more painful especially when you get out of bed in the morning. Mine is gone now...thanks to a wonderful foot doctor. Peg: We aren't close to the border at all. Out little piece of the world is 232 miles from there. A little far to come for a coffee? I'm so glad you are getting the veneers done. I like the idea that you are using your mom's inheritance money for something for yourself...I bet she would too. BC: Thanks for thinking of me this weekend while looking at lilies. My Calla Lillies just popped out of the ground and should be beautiful. I have quite a few Asian lillies too. I think I would be happy if that was all that was in the ground, if I had enough of them. I was reading your post about Khaki and it reminded me to make a vet appointment for my cat. I have a 25 lb. Maine Coone that has a very swollen and sore looking ear. I did make the appointment for tomorrow. I tried to get it to drain myself and usually I'm successful but not this time. There goes over $100! But, he's worth it. Everytime I go to the vet, I curse the fact that I didn't become one. That was always my dream. But, my dad felt that women should stay at home and take care of their husbands and didn't need a university education. Like a good girl, I listened to him. Alida: I'm going to have a look at the website for the skin care. Thanks for letting me know that they have a Canadian site also. I get so frustrated when I find something I like and it says they don't ship to Canada. Strange thing is that most of those sites will ship to places further away. Must have something to do with customs and duty. Another baseball game tonight and then a tournament on the weekend. Sure hope it cools down for the weekend. I got a little sunburned on my shoulders this weekend, but if I have to sit for 2 days watching ballgames, it will be more than a little burned even with a lot of sunscreen on. Hmmm, doesn't seem that long ago that I was complaining about it being too cold!

| Peg, DH spent some time at www.aximsite.com, a site devoted to axim users. On the forums he didn't seem to find too many people having trouble getting bluetooth turned on, but lots having trouble getting connected. Anyway, the upshot is that what you have doesn't seem to be a common enough problem to have jumped out at him on the site. Unfortunately, you indeed may have to sit on Dell's helpline and have them either work you through it satisfactorily or send a replacment. Donna, it really does sound like summer there. Yes, I think we all complained about the cold this year, but you seem to be getting your complaints taken care of, in spades, LOL! Oh, your Maine Coon would make two of my girls! They are gorgeous cats, IMO. I'm sure sorry he's got a bad ear--that does make them miserable. Maine Coons usually have furry ears, right? Like poodles, those hairy ears can cause problems I suspect. In poodles, we have to pluck the ear hair, which seems like it goes right down into their poodly brains, but I doubt if one would live trying that on a cat...... ![]()

| Donna, You are soooo lucky to be owned and loved by a Maine Coon! Aren't they just the sweetest and best? We lost our beloved Fu-kitty in 2003 :( I still miss her so; just can't bring myself to even think of adopting another furkid yet. Hope the ear clears up soon for the big guy/girl? Our Fu kitty got up to around 18 lbs and we thought she was a *big girl* This pic of Fu-sie doozie was taken in 1995. long before she got sick. She acquired feline diabetes complicated with renal failure. We had her for 15 lovely years, or should I say, she let us live in her house and support her in the manner she became accustomed to SHE was the boss, without a doubt!

| Hang in there, Judy! Shell, what a gorgeous baby. I know you loved her and how hard it is that she's gone. Perhaps she will come back to you some day in a new little furry body.

| Hello Everyone! I am so happy you are all still here and going strong. I have been gone from this site since December and I have not been happy about it. I have regained up to 230 (from 211) but refuse to go back up to my original 296. I am back to get help from all of you. My sister and I are starting induction together on June 1. I will check in with all of you and know that you will help me keep my resolve.

| Hi, I'm back from Arizona, which had surprisingly cool weather while we were there (THANK YOU!). You all left me quite a bit of reading to catch up on! It was very wonderful to be included in our niece's graduation celebrations. I got to know many of my in-laws better, and some I met for the first time. There were 5 children under the age of 10 (4 were age 5 or less). I was impressed with how well-behaved they all were during the visit. Not perfect, but ~very good~ considering the circumstances. It was a so-so time for LC. Most of my in-laws are quite obese, and typically eat about 90% carbs and fat, with lots of pre-packaged foods (can you say "transfats"?). I managed LC meals by bringing some of my own groceries and picking and choosing. I slipped in a few very small helpings of foods I normally avoid - potatoes, bread rolls. Ahem... however... one of the other guests - a professional baker - brought lots cookies with a frosting I adored. If I ever doubted that I am a sugar-aholic, I proved that I still can't handle the stuff. I obsessed over those cookies and even stooped to eating the icing off a couple and surrepticiously (sp?) throwing away the biscuit part. How rude was that? It brought back those old feelings of being a food sneak - haven't had to deal with that for a long time. I got a lot of exercise (up and down ladders, hanging decorations inside and out), but still came home with a couple of extra pounds. MUST remember to do better in the water department tomorrow. Glug, glug, glug ![]()

| So much to catch up on! Brenda, ouch on the possibility of a new car. DH needs one too and we are still paying on mine. Although it is exciting to get a new one! Peg, those veneers will be awesome! Go forth and be happy! Not really "plastic surgery" but the outcome will be spectacular! Maybe your dentist will take some before and after pics??? And speaking of plastic surgery . . . Shelley . . . your "Progression Theory" was a hoot! Isn't that always the way? One thing really does lead to another, to another, ad infinitum. And that was a darling picture of your fur kid. Maine Coons are beautiful cats. Let's see if I can post a pic . . . Nope. HOW do you post pictures here? I clicked on the insert picture icon, but it has to be an http file. Then I tried attaching it as a file. Did that, but when I cliked on it, it said it was not good. I am usually not an idiot . . . can someone help? Kim, your pictures are wonderful! You are so beautiful and Moon is a handsome guy! I was especially touched by your last picture of your dog. I did that too . . . before we put Roscoe to sleep. That morning, I also recorded a new outgoing message on my answering machine, with Roscoe barking in the background. Judy, hang in there! Only EIGHT more days to go! TB, welcome back! Sounds like you did have a wonderful time, in spite of sneaking frosting, LOL! You sound like me. If no one sees it, it didn't happen! Ha! The scale knows! Yesterday, after the zoo, we went to a Mexican restaurant. I did eat a few of those tortilla chips AND one tortilla with my fajitas. Yup. The Scale Knows. Back to serious LC this week . . . .
