Okay, maybe it was overnight. Nonetheless, 3.5 lbs of water weight makes your waistband just as tight as 3.5 lbs of fat. And, for me, it's almost as hard to lose the water weight as it is to lose fat weight. I'm not one of those that gets rid of carb bloat easily. Alas.

Teel, How goes the house selling? I hope that no news to us is good news that things are busy for you.
Judy, I posted just shortly before you! For the blow-by-blow see my earlier posting.

Big day today - we will hear the offers for our house at 6 pm tonight.

Showed the townhouse to DH this morning and he likes it, too. If all goes well, we will make an offer on the townhouse, probably tomorrow. I spent much of last night and I will spend much of today looking through the disclosures and CC&Rs, etc. literally hundreds of pages of documents - many of which I do not feel qualified to evaluate. Yikes!

Will fill you in on the outcome later!!!

Kim, I've figured out that this thread has to be visited at least once a day to keep up. But since I'm an LCE addict, that works fine for me!

Teel, since all the fat (and bloat) on my body collects on my butt and thighs, I don't experience water weight in the waistband. That would be a bummer.

Kim, I guess a Miata isn't the ideal car for Idaho. Mine is a '95 Merlot (wine color) M-Edition. I also have a Mazda 6 for commuting, so I mostly keep the Miata undercover in winter--except for those magical midwinter days when the temp suddenly "soars" to 65, and out it comes with the top down. Miata is such a reliable little car, you can pick up a used one with confidence, and there are gazillions to choose from. My dream is a Blue Highways tour--me and the Miata and a change of undies. DH and I have done long trips in it, and it's a hoot on back road blacktop. My first one was a red '93 (bought used)--but I flipped for the Merlot and traded. Have I tempted you?

Oh, and if the Miata gets stuck, three or four guys can unstick it in a jiffy. But you can't haul anything in it other than your cute self!

everyone!
Peg, you're right...WOW!!! So many posts to read...so little time...LOL.

TB, Thank you for your prespective on diddling the day away...I do like that attitude!
I may just take that approach again on my next day off

Peg, I'm jealous! Wow...what a treat, the spa visit that is. I think every woman deserves to be pampered and to diddle on the same day...yes? A new rule that should be instituted immediately!

Yes...WATP is in reference to Leslie Sansone's *Walk Away The Pounds* tapes and cd's. I think in some ways, it's a much better workout than the walk around the neighborhood. I love using the "stretchie" band and doing the resistence training.
It's helping my upper arms more than anything I've ever done I think.

Judy, it's a deal! Meet ya at Starbucks one of these days!

Barb, good for you with your little Miata! That little car has a ton of personality...just makes ya smile when you see one I've been lusting after a 1964 corvette for years now. DH wants a muscle car, perhaps a '67 GTO or a '69 Roadrunner like he had in HS.
If I ever get say, oh I don't know, maybe an extra $30K I have absolutely nothing to spend on...yeah, right...I might consider getting a *toy* for him. At one time we had a '56 chevy that had been about 85% restored, but DH didn't have the time to work on it at the time, so he sold it. I think he regrets doing that now.

Bren, wow...you are doing mega good on the knitting! A sweater...that's impressive for sure! I crochet sometimes in the winter; small projects like baby afgans. I have one I should really finish...the basket stitch out of the ultra soft baby yarn...it feels just dreamy. Makes me want another grandbaby to wrap up in it...dear daughter doesn't care much for that idea though...LOL.

TB and Ilse, sending good thoughts your way for a quick and profitable sale...and I'll cross my fingers for a little added luck.

Kimmie! Hope Moon feels better soon. Do you think he should see the doctor sooner?Sounds like maybe something to consider if you are worried about his color.
Again, sending good wishes Idaho way.

I will probably crash early tonight. I have to get up at 0345 as we have an early surgery case in the morning. If I don't check back in later, everyone have a good evening

Later..

Oh Kim: How scary that must be for you!! I worry about my DH and heart too, and he hasn't had anything but a little atrialfibrillation. He's such a dunce about his body that he didn't even know it. He was a regular Dr. appt. and his Dr. just about had a heart attack herself when she listened to his heart! I do pray for the both of you!

TB: Waiting anxiously to hear how your bids came out. I do hope you get the townhouse, if it is what you want! I know what you mean about waistlines. Unfortunately mine is way too many cookies yesterday.

Donna: So glad that your yard is shaping up. Today has been one of those "drop dead gorgeous" Spring days. Motor boats are speeding around the lake as if they owned the danged place! But, it is wonderful to see blue water and not ice. The gardeners at our condo sprayed mulch into my lovely flowerbed and virtually covered my struggling flox and pansies. I could have cheerfully killed them when I got home last night and discovered it. I was going to mulch it myself but the President of the Condo Association, aka "the Bully" told them to go ahead and mulch my bed. For pete's sake it's only 4x3!

Brenda: If I had a yarn shop to go to, I suspect that I would do a lot more knitting. So far, I'm still plodding along on this prayer shawl. More than once since I started it, I have said the name of God. (Ha!) Well, (she said in a high squeaky teenage voice) that's praying.

Alida: How did the big job go today? Wow, girl, you do some hard physical labor! I'd be dead if I were you!

Judy: How are things between your son and fDIL? Do you know what made them change their minds about the wedding? Of course, I can certainly understand stressing about it. A wedding and all the attendant details is pretty daunting. Has your weather turned warm there yet? My DD2 began her last 12 weeks of pregnancy this week. We are flying down to Carrolton for four days the last week in August. I would love to be able to connect with you!

Barb: About cars: Last year I bought a used Lexus RX300. I love it! I sit higher than most cars, I have heated leather seats, I have a 6 CD changer and AM/FM radio, and I have the largest gas bill on the block! But, I still love my little SUV. DH is making noises about getting something more economical for our drive. Nothin' doin'!!

Speaking of gas, Ilse, wow, do I envy you your price per gallon. I bought it for $2.17 this morning. I know that foreign countries pay a lot more per gallon than we do, and we probably shouldn't compain. But, hey, if I didn't compain, I wouldn't have anything to say!

And speaking of my Spa adventure. No one said a word today!! Can you believe that?? Of course, I guess I would have been upset if someone had said, "Hey Peg, you look 20 years younger, what did you do?"

Peace, Peg

Holy....the only way I could comment on everyone is if I made notes while reading all these posts. lol How nice that everyone has something to contribute.

Kim: I would take my hubby yelling and screaming to the dr. if he was looking grey. He's like yours...doesn't need the dr., cause he's tuff.

Yesterday was a busy one for me. Busy at work and then when I got home...in an hour and a half....I had made dinner, done 2 loads of laundry, cut the grass, walked the dogs and made myself a batch of lc zuccini muffins. How's that for being a woman! I'm sure we are the only ones that can multitask like that. Hubby's idea of multitasking is reading the paper while watching TV.

Shelley: I'm a big fan of Leslie Sansone also. But, since having sclerotherapy done on my leg I haven't been able to do it. *pout*. I haven't seen the 3 packs in our WalMarts here. Actually, I've only been able to find the weight training one and the walk and jog, so I bought a George Foreman walking circuit and it's slowly becomming my favorite. I figured that seeing as he's an older man it couldn't be that strenuous. Wrong. It's quite the workout. I'll be glad when the leg heals and I can start it again.

Old cars: We used to have a '69 Buick Wildcat. Oh, did that baby ever float on the highway. I still want my baby t-bird though. Like that's going to happen.

Another baseball game in town tonight so that means a trip to WalMart. I'm sure I have shares in that store. I just wish it was a Supercentre. It has a small grocery section but not like the superstores. I need to find 6 more empty hanging baskets and then the backyard should be done. (maybe) I think my grandkids are coming to watch their Poppa play ball. Poor guy has a hard time concentrating (he's a pitcher), when he hears the little voices yelling "Hi Poppa". Love it!

Guess I should get my work finished so I can get out of here on time. Take care all!

donna... he actually WANTS to go THIS time.. (scary in itself) but each time he goes they always say they wont DO anything else... cant..
for whatever reason only ONE of the bipasses worked.. they scar up inside and closed right up... three doctors said they wouldnt do anything more... ... he HATES the pain meds..(because he wont take them long enough to get USED to the drowsy initial feeling when you first take them... ) SO ... he is in constant chest pain.. but he is ESPECIALLY in pain this past two days...for him to even MENTION it is pretty bad...

sorrry... dont mean to whine...

Oh, Kim, I know you must be scared........... and feeling totally hopeless. If it gets bad, take him to the emergency room. I can't believe there's not anything they can do for him.

I think Donna said it right........... I need to take notes to answer everyone. To be honest, I've been doing that lately. It is nice to see our circle grow. For the longest time Peg and I talked back and forth to ourselves. I think this topic has been working for over two years now. It has certainly evolved into a great place.

Today we got lots of answers about the wedding. The new Plan B is that the wedding will take place in Jackson Hole WY at the Four Season on July 30. DS and fDIL are very excited about it. One of the major reasons for the change is that fDIL has twin brothers who are both Marine reserves. One is in Iraq now and was expected back by September. The other wasn't supposed to leave until after September.......... Well, the one in Iraq won't be home, and the one that's still here is leaving Sunday. The stress has been very hard on her mother and all things considered they decided that it would be better to have a smaller more intimate wedding.

I think it will be beautiful (and probably way more costly to us than what I was going to be paying for the huge rehearsal dinner.) Oh well, I get a nice vacation out of it, and DH will get to fish, I hope. It's been almost 6 years since the last time he went trout fishing --- fell off the roof and really screwed up his ankle--surgery, plates, pins and the whole bit. He hasn't tried river wading again since then. It would be a shame for him not to find a nice flat spot and give it a try if we are there.

Peg, be careful, have a good time, and check in when you can.

Bed Time in Texas...............see you all tomorrow.

Gosh, Kim. I can certainly understand your concern about DH. I surely hope he's feeling better soon - I've said a prayer for his health and recuperative powers. Perhaps going to a new doc is a good thing - maybe he'll have some new answers.

We accepted an all-cash, minimal contingency offer on the house, but it wasn't as high as we hoped. It will close really soon, and they are giving us a free "rent back" for a couple of weeks, I think. I don't know - my mind is just addled with all the terms and numbers right now.

It was hard, as all three potential buyers were lovely people. Each one wrote us a lovely personal letter expressing how much they liked the house and why it was special to them (so why didn't they bid it up higher?). Oh, well.

Because we won't clear as much on the sale of our house, our offer on the townhouse was just barely over asking price - but we made an all-cash, minimal contingency offer, too. And, I wrote a really precious letter saying how much we liked the home and how special it is to us. We know they are getting at least one other offer tomorrow, so our agent thinks we're barely in the game. But, hey - if we can't afford it, we can't afford it.

Anyway, now the real work begins: packing, getting a storage unit, sorting goods for a moving sale, pricing professional movers vs hiring help and renting a truck to do it ourselves. I can't believe I didn't scope out moving costs before now - I'm clueless.

And, rats! I skillfully resisted cookies and such like all week - until just now! As we didn't have time for dinner, I took finger food - veggies, nuts, cheese, and cookies to the meeting. The cookies were for DH and the agent. I was tempted, but I ate no cookies at the meeting. I finally had to have DH take them out of the conference room. I was still hungry when we got home at 10:30 pm, so I made us some scrambled eggs. Thought I was fine, but then I caught sight of a baggie of cookies in the cupboard and just caved. Oh, well.

TB, congratulations on selling your house so quickly. Hopefully, it will work out on the townhouse. The real estate market moves more slowly in our area...

Not much news. Keeping to LC. My slightly higher carb foods were almonds and an avocado.

We've been having lots of rain recently. This morning it was 40 degrees!

School is about to start, so I best be off.
