Default Monday morning

Greetings from a mountaintop in Colorado! I've managed a quick scan of several days of this conversation--forgive my not commenting on everything!

Judy, I'm glad to hear that your dad is getting along all right. It's difficult to have so much on your plate right now, especially when you'd like to give your best to the first days of school.

Alida, good luck with the new computer. I dread any change in what I'm used to, because I never remember how it got that way in the first place.

Bren, love the image of "wrestling a tarantula." Good luck with the sox.

My sisters plus DIL had a great time at the BBQ. We were the notorious All Woman Team, and attracted a lot of attention--with boobs and BBQ. My sister, the master smoker, presented some fine contest entries. Didn't win anything (major professional teams involved here) but received many, many compliments from the public who bought her delicious BBQ. We worked so hard!! Already planning for next year.

Yesterday, my nephew and his wife (the DIL) and I took the chairlift up Keystone Mt. and walked down--about eight miles. This morning, I walked up the mt. my sister's house is on--about 3 miles. Part of the way, I was accompanied by a beautiful fox, who walked with me like a pet dog! Sister says one of the neighbors has been feeding him.

Outlet shopping today--including the new Coldwater Creek. I expect my thighs are chubbier than when I got here.

I'm off to Durham (from Denver) in the morning. Won't be back online here until Friday.

Good thoughts to everyone.

Hola, all!
I got to be off again today...yipeee! Everytime the census is down, and the boss asks if someone wants to furlough, I always raise my hand!!! My partner in the pre op area likes to get her hours in, and I like to stay home whenever possible, so it works out well.

I got a good workout in this morning. I did some jogging sprints on the treadmill, so got the heartrate up a little faster this morning. Then did my usual workout on the weight/resistence machines. I didn't realize how long I had stayed at the gym until I got in my car to leave...almost 1 1/2 hours, but I did try a few new machines I hadn't worked on before.

Alida, I had second thoughts about going to the mall yesterday, but did make it to the HFS for some stuff I needed. They used to have several isles dedicated to LC products, now they are gone. What few LC speciality items they have are scattered with the regular goods. I can't say I'm sorry to see some of the LC *junk* food go though.
Coromega is omega 3 EFA. It is a very pure fish oil and is a creamy orange flavor.

Teel, we are actually getting some more rain today! Nothing as impressive as the last 2 days, but enough to put the central part of our state under FLASH FLOOD WATCH!
How can it go from dry and drought to flooding???? Oh yeah...duh...it's OOOOOklahoma!
We vacation in the RMNP in Colorado. We hike and do wildlife photography. We generally spend a day or 2 in Arvada(burb of Denver) with some friends, then head up to the high country. We hope to move to the mountains for retirement, but the price of mountain property is pretty pricey, so we may settle on getting a motorhome and spending our summers in the mountains. Not sure on that just yet...have a few more years to work...<sigh>

Bren, WOW! All those needles to knit a pair of socks, eh? Well, I'd have everything in a big ole tangled mess, I'm afraid I do good to crochet or knit with 2 needles. I have not knitted in eons...probably have forgotten how to tell the truth. I do crochet in the winter or if I need to make a baby afgan for a gift. I have one I started, to have on hand, and I should finish it before I start on another....always something...LOL.

Rachel, how are you feeling today? Hope you are starting to get better. Feel better vibes going out to ya!

Judy, how are things?

Everyone else...what up???????

Got to move on to some chores...
I'll check back later....

Hi All! I'm back. Glorious two days in Newport. Saw the Vanderbilt Mansion, "The Breakers." Wow! Had a rousing Tstorm last night and it rained. The temp is 30 degrees cooler today!!! Crazy, huh? We are supposed to get warmer this week. I've got long pants and a sweatshirt on. DH laughed when he saw me. Got lots of work this week, as well as both a nail and a hair appt. If it's not one thing it's another! (LOL) I've decided not to get my panties in a wad about the church. I can't possibly change anything in a month, so why not just look the other way? So, I'm gonna.

I'll write tomorrow.

Peace, Peg

Hey Gang!

Barb, hope you'll have more B N' B pictures for us when you return home--that's BoobN'Barbeque Sounds like you all had a wonderful time.

Alida, congrats on getting your computer set up. That's a major accomplishment.

Judy, thanks for checking in. You've way too much on your plate right now.

TB, the socks are "beginner" ones, and I've already started the second one. They are supposed to be a heavier "boot sock" but if they don't fit, I may take your suggestion and make them the dogs' Christmas stockings The knitting knobby thingy you played with as a child is still used, by the way, often for making tubing which is then felted for cording--such as for the handles of a felted purse. Kids still play with them, too, I understand!

On the cable/HDTV thing, my TV geek DH wonders which wiring you have between the cable box and the tv. S Video wiring won't be good with your setup, Component Video might or might not work well, DVI wiring is best. His second thought is that your cable box might have an issue. If it's a Motorola box, check the model number. Third, here's a good forum to ask questions:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=6

Shelley, how lovely your having an extra day off today. Yea! You know, speaking of zicam and such, I really never thought about it, but I've been taking zinc gluconate for over a year (to correct a metabolic thing) and I really didn't have any horrible colds last year, knock on wood. Sure wish we were getting your rain......

Oh, TB, speaking of rain and veggie gardens and such, I can't recommend container deck/patio veggie gardening enough. Lori of this forum (PAmomathome) started me on it a few years ago. A couple of companies make special containers with water reservoirs especially for veggie gardening. I usually have as many organic tomatoes, cucs, peppers, and mesclun as we can eat during the season--each container will hold 2 tomato, cuc or pepper plant, 6 or 8 pea or bean plants, etc. The containers minimize the work, and plants grow abundantly. With your longer growing season, you could work wonders. Really, for any of you, it's a hoot, and sooooo much easier than an "in the ground" garden, which I wouldn't do any more. I wish you all could see my Lemon Cucumbers coming off right now....

Well, a good part of the day was spent toting DF to the eye Dr, and lolling in the waiting room, then various of Dad's errands as well as lunch on the way home. I'm usually a nervous wreck by the time I get home after one of these ventures with Dad, since he doesn't believe in letting over 10 seconds of silence go without conversation--well really not conversation since I don't seem to have to participate, just listen.......however I seem to have survived. Even threw together an "interesting" dinner which included some nice zucchini noodles--haven't made any in ages.

Hope everyone's having a nice evening.......

Well, everyday is certainly a new day around here!!

1st day of school for me ............ I felt like I was in the vortex of a tornado. Who are all the new people in the office? I swear I almost asked a guy if I could help him, then decided that he must be the new assistant principal. He's the one that reportedly went on a tirade about teachers having cell phones out in the classroom. Let him try to say something to me about that........ I'll give him what for about our sorry phone system and the inability of the secretaries to take a message and get it too us in less than 24 hours. Otherwise my classes are big, and I only found one kid that makes me wonder why he is still alive.

DDad........Rehab has changed their mind and decided that DDad is too ambulatory to meet their guidelines. Nevermind that he still can't dress himself or get out of bed or a chair without help. He is being released (kicked out??) tomorrow. Bless DH's heart. He has packed his stuff and is going back to Plano. Between my brother, his wife, DH, and me, DH is the only one with the flexibility to be available to stay with him. He will take DDad home, be there for the home health care evaluation, and stay until we are satisfied that he can take care of himself, or that regular assistance can be secured. With lots of luck, DH may be home by the weekend. May you all be blessed with such a good hearted DH!

The laptop........ Only a monentary return from the dead. A new hard drive will cost $150 to $200. That laptop came to us already abused and had more than a few issues to begin with. It worked well because DH could baby it along. A new laptop is probably in the future.

Exercise.....I went today for the first time in over 3 weeks. I needed it! I guess with DH in Plano for a while I certainly won't have any excuse for skipping. I was doing so good before I left town.

It's so nice to have you guys to check in with everyday. Have a good one tomorrow!

Good morning!

Barb, I forgot that Colorado = Boobs N Barbeque. Looking forward to those pictures! How can your thighs be chubbier with all that mountain walking? Whew. Made me tired reading about it. Have a glorious time!

Shelley, you are another mountain walker in the group! Seriously, your vacation sounds wonderful. All that beautiful scenery and FRESH mountain air! Thanks for the info about Coromega. Love "creamy orange." Next trip to HFS, I'll check it out. Also glad you had another day off. You DESERVE it!

Peg, Visiting The Breakers must have been awesome! The money spent during that era on those types of "homes" . . . Breakers, Mar el Lago, San Simeon, etc. absolutely boggles the mind. And good idea about not getting your panties in a wad, LOL. Just remember that resolve when the Idiot rears his head again . . .

Brenda, container gardening sounds like fun. Neat, compact, small space to work with. I think I could handle that! Maybe next year. I am glad your survived your Day with Dad's Errands.

Judy, Your dad is "too ambulatory" when he can barely walk? That rehab center must have extremely strict guidelines. You must be very thankful that your husband can spend the time with Dad. He deserves a gold star! And LOL about only having one kid in your class about which you wonder "why he's still alive." Did you mean he is rather dense, stupid, or maxed out on drugs???

Rachel, do hope you are feeling better!

Ilse, still packing?

Donna, everything OK??? We are all waiting for your wedding report.

Terry, I hope Brenda's DH's advice on the TV thingy helps. One thing I am finding out about technology is one thing definitely does lead to another. OLD tech doesn't work with NEW tech. Never mind that the old tech is still good. Put it with something new and kaboom! Nothing works!

On that note, my old printer, a 10-year-old HP laser jet, which worked just fine with my old computer, does not like my new one. Downloaded a new driver. Think that would work, eh? Still doesn't print some fonts. It did with my old computer. Read old instructions. A font manager would help. I have Adobe Type Manager. Try to install it on new computer. Installs but will not work. Says it only works on Win 95. Well, it worked on Win 98. Go to Adobe for new driver. Adobe discontinued Type Manager. Next step is to call HP. They'll probably tell me to buy a new printer.

Next problem is Quark Express software. Have CD. Load it. Go to open it and it tells me it's no longer valid! Call Quark. Have to spend $19 for a 6-month tech contract. Talking to someone with an accent (India???) Before buying contract, I asked them if they could not get my software to work, will I get a refund on the tech contract. They said yes. We will see. Do you see me turning into a curmudgeon? Suspicious? HA!

And all this takes TIME. Frustration levels build. Forgot to eat lunch! AArrghh.

And, ladies, just to let you know, Microsoft is coming out with a new OS this fall or early next year. PC Magazine suggests to hold off buying a new computer until the new OS comes out. MAJOR change to 64 bit architecture. But I had no choice. So if any of you can wait, it may be a good idea!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Good morning everyone. I've been waiting for a chance to write when I have lots of time, but it just doesn't look like that's going to happen. Here's hoping the boss stays away for awhile.

The wedding went off perfectly. I was really impressed that it was done so tastefully. It was hotter than the hubs of hell, so I was worried about some of the older people. We carried lots of water for them and thankfully the ceremony wasn't too long. We had a few "issues", that we would have liked to have seen changed, but it was far too late for that. One is that there was no seating saved for immediate family. We ended up standing at the back of the seating section, also the Baptist minister talked so quietly we had a terrible time hearing her. I was interested in knowing how she worded some of the vows, but none of us could hear her. After the ceremony pictures were taken, but only of the other side of the family. My mother in law wasn't impressed. Also, the other side of the family wasn't introduced to any of us until much later in the evening when I finally said something. But, I guess with all that was going on, these are little things that just get forgotten. I did manage to hear that they are pronounced "husbands". I guess when it's two women, it's "wives". The reception was just great. We had a great time. They went to a bar after they got married and didn't show up at the receiption, which was at their house, for almost 3 hours. Well, with it being so hot, and waiting until almost 8 p.m for dinner, I'm sorry to say that the booze hit me pretty hard. lol I was feeling no pain when they finally got there. lol Once we ate I was a little better and did manage to make it until midnight. Pretty sad considering we are usually the last to leave a party. But, I have to say I was in better shape than my daughter. She really took the ribbing the next day. Anyway, I took two films of pictures which I hope to take to WalMart tomorrow and get developed. Now if I can just get the time to learn how to post them.

When we got home from the wedding I walked over to the motorhome where one of the dogs was dancing next to the window. When I looked inside there was the other dog with a cord wrapped around her little leg. She was half on the seat and half on the floor with one leg straight up in the air. What a terrible sight! Sure made me sober up fast. We had a fan that plugs into the lighter and had unplugged it and just laid the cord on the front seat. I have no idea how she got it wrapped around her leg. She's fine now, but I think it scared the other dog the most. She keeps checking up on her sister and is now very protective. Runs over and stands in front of her whenever someone she doesn't know comes near. So, I can imagine that there was a lot of crying going on by the dogs while we were gone. I have no idea how long she was laying like that...we were gone for 8 hours. (and yes, the air conditioning was on in the motorhome).

On another sad note...when I went to the post office yesterday the girl that works there asked me if we have a small black cat. I said yes, that would be Peanut. Being in a small town everyone knows where you live and what you have for pets. She then told me that when her sister was out walking her dog, she saw a coyote coming from my yard with a small black cat in it's mouth. What a terrible picture. Peanut was about 6 but just forgot to grow. He was pretty small. We always bring out pets in for the night, but after being in the house all weekend he went into hiding outside and we couldn't find him. There was no sign of him last night either so it had to be him. Poor little guy. The coyotes are getting pretty brave coming right into town like that....musn't be much food in the hills. Also, she said it was 4:30 in the morning when she saw it so I guess it was pretty quiet then. I have 2 cats left now, and believe me they are not going to be outside when we aren't home.

Terry: If you found Lytton on the map just go straight up the Trans Canada Hwy (not Hwy 12) and find Cache Creek. That's where we have our gas station and store. We actually live in Ashcroft when is just 6 miles from Cache Creek. If you blink you will miss the town....mainly just gas stations and motels (and a lot of nice people)

Judy: Your school sure starts early! Ours don't start until September 6th. Way to hot here to try to get kids to settle down in school.

Alida: Sounds like you're getting ready to really "boot" that new computer. You have more patience than I would.

I was so terrible with my eating on the weekend and I'm paying for it. (can you all say blueberrie cheesecake?) The booze didn't help either. Yesterday I was up to 155 which I haven't seen in other a year. This morning a half pound of that was gone. I'm in a rut. I either eat salad or cheese and pepperoni and I'm getting tired of it pretty fast. I'm pretty limited to what I can take to eat in the park for lunch and it's just too darn hot to cook much. I've got to start getting some variety in my menu soon, or I just know I'm going to be in big trouble. Also need to start exercising too. (come on cooler weather).

I guess I'd better get some work done. I'm pushing my luck trying to tell you guys everything. I don't know if the rest of you do this, but while something important is happening around me I'm always thinking " I can't wait to tell the girls about this". lol

Okay, here I am at work in the afternoon. I got here early this am, after I had my lc bkfst and exercised for 45 mins at the condo gym. Is that cheering I hear?? I thought so! Now, I have a minute or two so thought I would check in. Went to the dentist again today to get my new teeth adjusted again. I've been suffering with the pain for several weeks. I told him that I have brand new teeth, but the same old tongue and mouth. I'm hoping that they are better now. He said to come back sooner when they hurt. I would, but he is an hour away. I have to have a tooth pulled. We'll do that in a month.

Donna: A Baptist woman did the ceremony!!?? Hard to believe. My DH is American Baptist. They would drum him out of the corp if he did a gay wedding. The UCC (my denonmination) doesn't really care if their ministers perform gay weddings. It's up to the individual pastor. The wedding sounds fun though. Well, rather the reception sounds fun! Too bad she spoke so softly. That's not one of my problems. everyone says they can hear me; even the hard of hearing seniors! We want to hear more....

So sorry to hear about your darling cat!!! Oh, how horrible. Just like my friend's cat.

Judy: I gotta agree. It's nice to open up this thread an see the conversation. Remember when it was primarily you and me?? I'm so sorry to hear about Dad. Boy, I can't believe those hospitals and rehabs. They are the same here. Makes me so mad!! Over the weekend they sent home one of our seniors who can neither see or hear! Sent her home to live alone!! Yikez!

Bren: You've finished one sock?? You are superwoman. Don't stop talking about knitting. I can't believe you didn't buy anything at the convention. Wow! You needed me there with you, girl. I hardly ever have any trouble buying anything. Especially when it's for someone else.

Alida: wow! So sorry to hear about all the trouble with the applications. Damn. It just doesn't seem fair does it? You begin to get a feel why so many geeks are mad at Bill Gates. Though I have to admit that when I was a Mac user, it was a lot worse. You could only buy Mac stuff. No compatability. I understand that is still true with most things, but there are some things that are compatible. We have a Dell laptop. I'm going to bring it to a laptop computer store here before I leave the church and have some more memory installed. I think it probably has enough, but with taking it on the road, I want to have plenty of memory to store things for a while.

I'm still trying to find someone who can tell me how to get online on the road. I know that you have to have an ethernet connection. How do I get that? Where can I go out on the plains of Montana (does Montana have plains?) or the badlands of the Dakotas when we stay at Motel 6? Anyone have the answer to this?

Rachel: I hope you are over your cold by now. It sounded like you were miserable. What a great setup it sounds as if you have now. I would love one of those new Mac G5's (despite my comment above) with the 19" monitor. Wow! One of my parishioner has one and it does everything but bring in the paper.

Shelley: Hope you are having a good day!

TB: sounds as if you are finally starting to settle in to your new place. I'm so glad. Hows the Fibromyalgia? (FM for those who asked) I hope that it is settling down for you. I've been having cold sores in my mouth and on my tongue. My Dentist said, "Had any unusual stress lately?" I smiled and said, "Only these sore teeth." How can I explain stress to someone who doesn't live my life? FM is so danged sensitive to it, huh?

Barb: BBQ and boobs?? LoL!! Glad it was a good time for you and your sisters. And you mountain climbing. I am so impressed.

see you guys later,
Peace, Peg

Donna, it sounds like quite a time at the wedding! Thanks for letting us peak over your shoulder for the events. As weddings go, it sounds like everything went pretty well, all told, and I bet you looked Mah-Vel-Ous, even when worse the wear. Oh my heart just breaks learning about your kitty, and your poor furgirl hung up in the cord. Wah! We just can't protect them enough, can we. I had the same reaction Peg did--a Baptist minister? Perhaps Canadian Baptists are a little more liberal? Anyway, glad to see you back and more or less in one piece. And, oh yes, I often think that I can't wait to share some little tidbit with you all Please do share any more stories and pictures, of course!! But very glad all went as well as it did, and that at least everyone was civil. On the weight front, just eat clean for a while and you'll be ok. Everyone has a blowout sometimes, so don't let it through you.

Wa-hoo, you are gonna be one buff gal if you keep up all the good eating and workouts... glad you are getting your teeth adjusted--no fun having a huring mouth, for sure.

I'll tell ya, sometimes I bemoan not being more technically current, especially when I'm having trouble on this pc, but then again it's nice that DH can fix/install/unbug everything. However, I've told him that if something happens to him, I'll have to get rid of half the things in this house, because there'd be no one to know what to do with them. So Alida, Peg, Judy, TB, and the rest of you who wrestle with technologies yourselves, my hat's off to you.

Peg, I haven't completed one sock yet, but I've done both socks down to the point of starting the heel, which is the next lesson I don't know how to go any further, lol, so basically I have a pair of ankle warmers now.

Just got back from the dentist, myself....routine cleaning. However, I must have looked like crap because the dentist took my blood pressure. It was 98/68 which is low even for me. No wonder I feel so sluggish. LOL, maybe it also explains some of this brain fog--there's no oxygen getting up there to the gray cells! Right now I need to make myself empty the dishwasher and figure out what's for supper. DH has an overseas conference call at 7, so the pups and I will settle in with a book then--it's my job to keep them quiet as possible, however, occasionally DH gets a little barking in the background of his business calls

Oh, on the "weird front" DH#1 emailed me yesterday, which he does once in a while but usually at Christmas. He sent a picture of me in my 20's--just out of the blue. It really stopped me in my tracks to see myself at 22. Certainly brings up a lot of conflicting emotions.

I'll roll back later to see what's up--hugs to all!!!

Hi everyone,
Not much to add from my little corner of the world
We have had more rain today, some parts of the metro heavier than others, and some heavier rains also in the southern part of the state. Again, flash flood watches have been in effect most of the day for southern OK. Weird August weather for us, for sure!

Today was a day off from the gym and I kinda missed not going! Funny how that exercise bug infects a person...LOL. I just hope my enthusiasm remains at this level or even more; I would truly like to make this a permanent thing in my life(and get DH involved as well).

Sorry this is a *shortie* tonight; got some chores that need my attention. Then probably off to bed early as I have to get up at 0400.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Alida, I mean that he runs his mouth so much that I wonder why some other teacher hasn't already put us out of our misery. It's a BAD sign when you have to tell a kid to be quiet more than once on the first day. This one is going to be a challenge!

Quote:

Donna, We have lots of breaks during the year and finish up at the end of May. You guys need to get air conditioning! WE would never be able to start without it. In this part of the country, air conditioning generally start in April and ends in October. We don't get your nice cool nights to even things out either.

I'm glad to hear that the wedding went well. I know you were sweating it. --I posted a pic from our wedding, let's see one from yours, too. I agree with Peg.......did you say a Baptist, and a woman on top of that, performed the ceremony!! In our part of the country we mostly have Southern Baptists. I have never even heard of them having a woman pastor. They are about the most conservative denomination around. That's some kind of different Baptist than we have!

It's too bad about your little dog and especially the kitty. I know how much you care for them.

OK, Peg, this is easy stuff. Your laptop is new. It probably has a wireless card in it. If it doesn't, go buy one. They are relatively cheap -- something like $79. There will be a slot on the side that you just slide the card into. Most of the chain hotels have wireless service. It doesn't have to be a top of the line place, let me promise you that. We stayed in Econo Lodges and Days Inns and had service with no problems. In the few places that we stayed where there was no service we either drove around town with the laptop until we found someone's unsecured home network, or even easier than that, pulled into the parking lot of another hotel and jumped onto their service. Get yourself a yahoo email account and then you can set an option to download your email from your home account. You will have to use the yahoo account to send email. The only place that we were absolutely without service was in Yellowstone. They had it in the employee housing, but it was locked down and we aren't good enough to break into that kind of code.

Before you leave for the trip, check on your cell phones and see if you need to take them in for a software upgrade. We have Sprint service and should have remembered to do that. The upgrade will pick up all the new towers that your phone may not already have programed. We were getting roaming messages when other Sprint phones were OK. The cell bill came today and it wasn't awful so we may not even bother to call and complain.

However, I must have looked like crap because the dentist took my blood pressure. It was 98/68 which is low even for me.
Brenda, Last week when we were having so much trouble with Daddy's blood pressure, it would go to 70/30 if he sat up or tried to stand. That makes you look and feel like crap for sure.

So, with that said............ DH has called several times today. He was seriously impressed with the progress DDad has made since Friday. DH may get to come home in a couple of days. Tomorrow is the evaluation by the home health agency. They will probably recommend some physical therapy at home and possibly an aide to help DDad bathe, etc. Even when a surgical intervention won't help, it looks like DDad is another on who can say "Better living through chemistry!" Thanks for all your prayers. I believe they were answered.

Donna, thanks for The Wedding Report! I have to ditto everyone here about the female Baptist preacher! But I say, good for her! My assistant is a Baptist minister-to-be and he is definitely against gay marriage. I try my best to tell him my feelings on the subject, but his eyes just glaze over, LOL.

Ome thing did strike me as odd. The newly married couple went to a BAR after the ceremony and not directly to the reception? Was there a reason for this? Just sounds unusual . . .

Oh Donna, I am so sorry about your cat. I would be heartbroken, too. And your poor dog being "hung up" for who knows how long . . . at least he is OK. Donna, please don't take this suggestion wrong, but I would not let my cats out at ANY time, especially if there are nasty critters around. Will your cats complain too much if they are kept inside? Years ago, I used to let one of my cats outside but things always seemed to happen. Fight marks, getting stuck on the roof, missing and requiring hours of walking the neighborhood . . . .

Did you take regular pictures or digital pictures at the wedding? If regular, will you get them digitized and on a CD? If you do, posting them is pretty much a no brainer. Hey! You have posted some pics in the past! If you need help, let us know . . . .

Peg, Yes, you do hear CHEERING! You are doing great. That reunion seems to have been the key to turning on the mental switch.

I know beans about computers on the road, but it sounds like Judy is an old hand at it. LOL . . . driving around until you find an accessible hot spot!

Glad you are getting your beautiful new teeth fixed! But you need to have one pulled? Didn't they spot that problem before you had all that work done? Or does it not really matter with the veneers if you need one pulled?

Judy, I have visions of you driving slowly around a stange town with your laptop open, waiting for the light to go on showing a hot spot. "Oh! There it is! Whoops. Lost it. Back up honey . . . OK got it!"

LOL about the boy. I can imagine a talker would be frustrating. A constant disruption for you and the class. Too bad duct tape to the mouth would be considered teacher abuse.

Please let us know the results of your Dad's "assessment." Fingers crossed for a good one.

Brenda, LOL about your socks. I can imagine the heel will require a whole new way of doing things. Hope it won't require MORE needles! Your weird news about your ex-husband sending you a photo of you IS weird. But it was a nice gesture on his part! Speaking of photos and ex-husbands . . . when I decided to leave my ex, I spent several weeks going around the house and taking away some things . . . like pictures. I went through all our pictures and the ones I wanted to keep were taken to my office and stored. I also went through stuff and separated it into an area so when the time came, I did not have to waste a lot of time sorting and could just "grab and GO."

Also LOL about dogs barking in the background during an important business phone call!

Not much to report. Computer humming along. They keyboard is different . . . seems smaller somehow. Tomorrow is an office day so I can follow up on some of the software/driver bugs. Somehow my sleep schedule got out of whack and now I am getting up and going to bed even earlier! This has got to stop. Falling asleep at 7:30 and waking at 3 AM is just ridiculous. I practically have a whole pot of coffee before 6 AM!

My eating went wild yesterday. All LC, of course, but too much. I keep saying this and maybe one day I will get back on track. Someone kick me in the butt, please? I do know one thing I am going to do . . . omit heavy cream from the shopping list. I find I just cannot control the quantity I am eating. So switching to half and half.

Happy Wednesday, all!

LOL, you guys are so great to wake up to in the morning!

I can't stay long, got a long list of "to-do's" today including a gyne visit.

Alida, I wasn't as smart as you when I left DH#1--I only have a half dozen pictures of me in my 20's, so it was rather shocking to see myself at that age.

Judy, LOL, I wonder if you guys must have looked a wee suspicious--rather like spies or private eyes trolling the town with your "sophisticated electronics."

Gotta run or my hair will dry before I can get it blown out!

Hi Gang!

Had a BIG arguement with DH this morning. Left the house slamming the door and didn't even say "goodbye." Grrrrr. I am so mad I could spit nails. We don't fight very often, but when we do he has a very accurate way of hitting below the belt with words. He has so little insight into his own feelings, that I get his random thoughts without any editing. It isn't pretty!

Thanks Judy for the tips. I hadn't thought about a yahoo account. That's a good idea. I do have a wireless card. (Just discovered I'm in quick reply. I'm posting this and then will go to "post reply."
