Hi Gang!

I like this living in the west coast! I can read ALL your posts before I post. :great: I remember many a mornin' in MA when I was the third person up. (Alida and Barb always beat me!)

We're resting up today for the big night tonight. DH just informed me that we have to stay until Midnight, so I have to do a major attitude adjustment. I'm HIGHLY aware that today is my last day of eating without keeping track in Diet Power. Tomorrow starts a new year for me with Atkins.

Judy: Welcome to the INFJ world (or at least, welcome to your knowledge of it)! I'm more on the "P" side. But, I would say that you fit exactly there, just from our conversations. We are a feeling bunch here on this Thread. That's why I stick around. I eat that same cereal every other morning on induction. On the other mornings I have eggs and bacon. I went out and bought the ingredients yesterday. However, for the soy protein isolate, I substitute whey powder. I'm going to try to get over to the Salvation Army thrift store and see if they have a coffee grinder. I'm making a royal mess in the kitchen trying to grind flax with my stick blender thingie. It doesn't have a top and the flax winds up on the counter and the floor. Looks as though we have major mice in here (if you know what I mean)

Brenda: Knitting and reading. What a wonderful day! I think that's a major part of what I'm going to do today too. Have you read "The Predator" yet? I have it on request at the Library. Went over there and checked out 7 books yesterday. One of them is "Dead Run" by P.J. Tracy. I started it last night. Wow, it starts with a bang! I've also discovered another serial writer. Her name is Margaret Maron. Her mysteries are set in the South. Her lead character is "Deborah Knott." She is a lawyer/judge and crime solver extradorinaire. The series is called the "Deborah Knott series" The first one is "Bootlegger's Daughter." I plan to read through her books next. There are about eight of them and the latest in 2005. That always excites me when a writer is still writing! I also picked up Anita Diamant's latest yesterday. I'm in heaven with all these books.

Remember the mess of yarn I talked about the other day? Well, at our dinner last night dh's dd1 brought her "little sister," (you know the big sister/little sister program) and she sat and untangled the mess. I was very grateful.

Sounds like you have a perfect New Year's Eve planned.

Barb: Have a great time with family. I totally agree about dh's "cleaning" kicking in when company is coming. Mine does the same thing. I also can understand you a lot more when you talk about your need to "talk about things," ("E") my dh is exactly the same way. As a high "I," we have had to really work hard to accomodate each other's styles. We even (years ago) set a time limit to our arguements because I need time to "think," and his need is high to "talk." Also, he is a high "J." His need for closure on our conversations is almost overwhelming (though that is a Male trait!). As a "J/P" my need for talking it out until it is finished (even if it takes months!) is just fine. :silly:

Alida: It sounds as if you are having a wonderful time with your company. I envy you. I love it when people come to stay for a while. Especially when they are good friends. Also, thanks for the headsup on Syriana. I love George Clooney, and was intrigued by it. Others, though, have told me about the confusing nature of it.

GROAN!!!!!

Try not to worry too much about the upcoming induction, dear. I'm feeling the same way, but we will get through it together. I have more than 10 pounds to lose too. Remember how good it feels to be clean? I'm kind of looking forward to that.

Terry: How's it going with your niece? It looks like you guys are really getting the rain! We are supposed to get some today and tomorrow. We'll see. It is in the 50's. I decided that the reason it feels cold inside is because of the single paned glass in the windows and the little insulation in the walls. Of course, it might also be my lack of activity.

About relatives losing weight: My dd3 has put on about 20 lbs. I'm so sorry about that. But, as I said before, I'm keeping my lip buttoned. She is also drinking too much, but I'm keeping my lip buttoned about that too. She ended up taking a nap in the middle of Christmas Day because she was drunk. Sigh

We pray every morning for our adult kids. It's about all we can do now.

Shelley: Whatcha doin' today? I hope that this can be a day of rest for you. I'm going to check in on your journal and see if you are posting, girl. We miss you

Rachel: Good luck on the return flight. I hope that it is uneventful for you. Also, prayers for the funeral. It sounds lovely.

Donna: What are you doing today? Is dh coming home to celebrate the New Year?

Well, it's time for me to get into my day. Since I have to shine tonight, I think I'll go to the drug store and buy some false eyelashes and some glittery powder for my face and neck. On the other hand, I may just sit around and knit and read!

Peace to you all in the New Year. May this be a wonderful and totally uneventful year!

Peg

Brenda: OMIGAWD! I just read the "Dolphin Cove" site. That is so much me I can't even begin to tell you!! I forgot that we are only 2% of the population. I also forgot some of those characteristics. No wonder I am feeling so misunderstood by some of the people around me!!!!! Thanks!

Shelley: We must have been writing at the same time. So good to see you. We'll be doing induction together, girlfriend! I got all my stuff in the house yesterday too. I found a wonderful health food store by my house. I was in heaven.

Prayer ascending for you!

Happy New Year's everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful night whatever you are doing. My dh is coming home tonight. Personally, I think he needs his laundry done and he wants to pick up the groceries that are still in my work warehouse. He's very tired working long days 6 a.m.-10 p.m. so he'll probably curl up in front of the tv and nap tonight. I know he'd go out if I said I wanted to but it's no big deal to me. I know have the sinus headache to go with the rest of it, so I'd just rather stay home.

I had to go up to our store this morning and do up the paycheques for the staff. I was floored to see that one of the girls has taken so many advances that she owes up money. Dh knew about this....I guess it started a few months ago. So, he's been taking only $150 off of the advances so she can still have a paycheque. But, she's still advancing! We will be talking about this when he gets back!!

I don't think I'll be going on induction with you guys, but I will be watching it carefully and cheering for you all. I lost weight so fast when I started that I don't want to do it again. I'm only 2 pounds from goal now, so I'll just try to stay there. I'm thinking it might be a good idea for me to dust off some of my exercise tapes while dh is gone. We'll see how this sinus thing goes first.

I sure hope dh is going to be making lots of money while out of town, cause this morning I blew up the vaccuum cleaner. I wasn't paying attention and sucked in a shoelace from my hiking boots. Before I could shut off the machine there was smoke coming from under it. The whole house stinks of burned rubber. Lots of candles burning now. That should make his day when he gets home. lol

Brenda and Judy: Thanks for the name of that program. I'm going to download it tonight. I have a few other programs, but you need a degree to be able to use them.

Brenda: Poodle Pelts? lol I've had quite a few knitting projects that have turned out that way. I guess I should finish up the last afghan that I started. Problem is that every time I sit down our old cat thinks she should be on my lap. I hate to disturb her and if I try to crochet, she bites the wool.

Peg: I hope you have a wonderful time tonight. False eyelashes....boy, that brought back memories. I used to wear them everyday when I was in my 20's. I bet you're going to look fabulous.

Judy: No, I didn't get a new digital camera. Can you believe that we've had one for a couple of years and I've never even tried to learn how to use it? I did take pictures of the room but they aren't developed yet. We still need to put the mouldings around the windows and doors and on the floors. Guess I'm waiting for the "final" picture.

Shelley: I bet you are so glad that this year has come to an end. Does that mean that work goes back to being a more leisurely pace? Sure hope so for you!

I think it's time for a nap. Maybe the headache will leave me then. Talk to you all in 2006!

Ahhh, Looks like I will be the last one in for 2005. One of you early birds be sure to start a new thread for the new year tomorrow morning.

Here's my New Year's Resolution for all of your to see (copied from my revived journal.)
~~~~~~~~~~
Quote:
I will lose the 10 pounds that I have allowed to creep up on me!!
Ok, to make myself feel a little better, it's not actually 10 pounds. It is, as of this morning 7.5 pounds. Whatever.... I'm going to get it off and I will get back to 138. Now, I'm going back to thinking in weight loss mode. I've been sliding on the slippery slope of maintance for a year now. The one thing that made me successful was being acountable and posting my numbers everyday. So, for the new year, here's my new start. I will keep up with it, and post everything --- the good and the bad.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The invitation is open to any of you that want to post numbers for accountability. I know some you you find it helpful, and some of you don't want it out there. If you do, you are welcome to join me. The journal title is "CCC just for me".

I'm thinking of each of you tonight. See you in 2006

Dear Tracking Friends,
You all have meant so much to me this year. Thank you all for being part of this warm, supportive and caring community. I'm going to take the liberty of closing this thread now, as we are closing down the old year, and as Judy has said, I'm thinking of each of you tonight, too. See you in January 2006 Tracking. Hugs to all, and Happy New Year!
