| Quick fly by...invoices to print today. Menu: Breakfast: 1 mock danish, 1 tsp sf jam, 1 tea with splenda Snack: 1/2 Atkins bar Lunch: 1 hamburger patty, 2 eggs 1 tea with splenda Snack: 1/2 Atkins bar Dinner: 1 pork chop, 6 spears asparagus with butter, salad Snack: 1 lc peanut butter cookie 2 diet coke and lots of water during the day. According to FitDay this = 1314 calories 68 fat 28 carbs 105 protein I have no idea if the calories, fat and protein are inline with what I should have, but the carbs aren't bad. I was down 1 pound this morning to 156. Sure would like to see 153 again, but it's coming. Brenda: Where can I sign up for knitting? You did you say that the fellow on the cover was the instructor didn't you? Rachel: Thanks for the info re the jails. That's just disgusting. I guess I live in a rosy world cause I thought that kind of thing was long gone. Poor kids! Alida: Only 1 more treatment? You've been such a trooper. It will be over soon. That's it for today folks....busy, busy day for me. Be back tomorrow. Have a good one.

| Hi girlfriends! The electrician dude just left. He took some notes and we talked about some different types of lighting. He will send us some brochures and an estimate for some kitchler lighting(a brand of undercabinet light). We talked about halogen lighting, Rachel, but he said they really burn hot. :( Anyway, we'll see what develops. Peg...hope you have heard from DD3 and sure hope she is on the mend. L/S appys are great. Usually done on an outpatient basis unless there is some infection/fever that necessitates an admission to the hospital. Hopefully, none of that, and she's home in her own surroundings recovering nicely Bren...WHOA!!!! Back the truck up and let me start knitting!! LOL!!! Yummmm! And that's alls I'm gonna say about that! Alida...one more treatment, right? Hooray!!! May 13th for the next surgery? Try to think about that waiting time as time to re-generate your body...re-gain your balance, yanno? The cyberknife thing takes more out of folks than they realize. Be kind to yourself, OK? (((hugs))) Rachel...thanks for the explanation on the *women and childrens jail*. <sigh>. I to was hoping that was a thing of the past. I guess sometimes I really do stick my head in the sand; some things I think I'd rather not know, yanno? Well, if you can make their day a little brighter with some wonderful food, I'm sure it's muchly appreciated. You are a sweetheart too! Barb...Slept in a bit, eh? That's a good thing! My thinking is like yours...if it happens, then the body must NEED it. My only problem is the day I can...my eyeballs don't want to...then when I have to get up...I have to have a caffiene jump start for sure! I think I have not reached perfect harmony with my body yet; will I ever? Judy...you are on it girl! Sounds like you are in your groove with the food tracking and all. I'm probably going to be sorry I did it, but I made some more of those cinnamon spiced nuts this morning. They make a great snack to go....now if I can just put them out of my mind and limit myself to under an ounce every other day or so...sigh. Donna...your numbers look good. What you need to look at is your % of fat, pro and carb. Should run about: 55-65% fat, 30% protein, and under 10% carb...if I remember correctly. I've done the calculations on lean and fat body mass, and I'm supposed to have about 90-95g pro a day. I find it very hard for me to keep my pro under 125g per day to be quite honest. I do love my meats and cheese....sigh. That is something I am going to look at when I re-induct. Teel...wow...you guys are still getting the rain! I wouldn't mind if you sent some our way. We got a little, but we are again under a red flag fire alert. We are having horrid winds today so I expect to hear of a grass fire or 2 on the evening news. Nice and sunny here, just windy as the dickens. Alrighty...My nail appt got moved to today; also going to get the brows waxed...yipee! Of course I will be unable to cook dinner tonight for fear of messing my nails...hehe. So, I'm thinking I'll declare tonight another *dinner date* night...LOL. I've been lusting after a chicken caesar salad for a few days so I'm thinking that's gonna be dinner. Tomorrow at work SHOULD be nice as the schedule doesn't look to bad. I hope it stays that way. later, chickadees... (((hugs all round!))) Shell

| Hi Gang! Well down to one "sleep" as Donna says. Today having trouble with my neck again and a headache. Not migraine. Thanks for your prayers etc for dd3. (Alida, it's my daughter, not my granddaughter). Her "husband" finally called this morning and put his foot right into his mouth. Fumbled around a bit and said that, "in an effort to be fair, he called her father first before me because he had called me first yesterday." I said to him, "And, who said you have to be FAIR??" Then he told me her phone number in the hospital and told me that she said that she didn't want people to abuse it. I thought about not calling at all, but did call. She said that thing about abuse about her co-workers. She was really glad to hear from me and a little teary. It was the anesthetic, I am sure. Anyway, she IS still in the hospital. An infection. Lots of pain. I feel so sorry for her, poor thing. But her "husband" is very protective and will take good care of her. We have the car packed except for the essentials. We're going out for dinner tonight, so I'm going to dress up a little. Then I will have worn everything I brought. (Ha!) Last night was just brutal for sleep. I must have been awake at least five times. I had a bizarre dream starring my two oldest daughters. They were about 9 and 6. They were packing for a trip to Paris, and were really putting it off. I was getting more and more panicky. Finally, I took the bag of the youngest, ripped it open and found she had only packed doll clothes! I went ballistic! There were all kinds of anxiety stuff going on in the dream. I had to laugh when I woke up and started to analyze it. Of course it was all about my anxiety about packing today. (Probably more, but I'm not going there) Rach: Yup! It's the picture on the outside of those knitting books that keeps me knitting! That's why it's taking so long for this d*mn prayer shawl. I just keep staring at the pictures. NOT! Bren: THANKS (dripping with sarcasm) for revealing WHY we knit! Judy: Keep posting those menus, girlfriend. I'll join you real soon. Tomorrow is going to be difficult. We'll be driving straight through from here (Virginia Beach, VA) to home. You all KNOW where that is! So it will be a long day. Alida: Almost done with this week, dear heart. Almost done with those terrible treatments. I just hate to think of you going through another surgery. Sigh. Terry: We saw all kinds of REAL egrets yesterday. We took the ferry back from Jamestown and they were parked on the pilings looking for a handout. Get this, we were stopped for search (our car) by the Homeland Security before we got on the ferry. Picture this: a very small ferry stop, probably held 40 cars. Rural Virginia. I mean, give me a break! Even if there were a bomb on a car, they will only kill about 100 people from rural Virginia!! Now, that is not to say that rural Virginians are any more or less valuable than others, but it is to say that I think our tax $$ could be spent better in New Orleans. End of soap box..........how did I get there, anyway? Kim and Dixie: SO good to see you here! Barb: You're having dinner guests for two weeks?? Wow! Shelley: Primping for an upcoming trip, no doubt. I need my nails done so badly. I did get them shortened in Dallas right after I saw you guys. They have been growing fast since then. I hate it. Last time I had my eyebrows waxed, my eyes were swollen shut for a week! Never going to do that again. Besides, I have so few eyebrows left now that I am old as dirt, that I can manage what I can see. Donna: Don't work too hard today, girlfriend. Your menu looks good to me. I try to maintain the same balance that Shelley talked about (when I am paying attention to that). Well, it's time for me to try and make myself damned sexy for tonight. Peace, Peg

I don't eat yogurt anymore - my body doesn't buy into the "carbs are lower than the label" theory. However, TJs sells a sliced yogurt cheese that's very low carb and still has those good probiotics like yogurt. I favor that cheese because the slices melt so beautifully over veggies. The Mizithra cheese I buy is a hard, dry Greek cheese. I think it's made with sheep or goat milk. It's a little like parmesan, but with a stronger flavor and ...hmmm... it's not quite as oily as parmesan, I think. It totally rocks with a brown butter sauce. I got the idea from the Spaghetti Factory. You can order that sauce over spaghetti or a plate of brocolli. I bought new make-up today - that's always something of a pick-me-up in my world. We had a REAL SUNSHINE this today, and OH MY was it Gorgeous! :hot: Big storm coming in right behind it though. The fruit and nut farmers are really taking it on the chin, I'm afraid. Besides ruining the fruit, the rain isn't running off the oversaturated ground. Trees in lower lying areas are literally drowning. Look for higher prices down the road, sigh :(

| For any of you looking, I took the picture of Mr Knitting Centerfold off and put a link in. Dawned on me that the picture is copyrighted, I'm sure. DUH! In my zeal to share him with friends, and all that, ya know........ Shell, I have halogen track lighting on my kitchen ceiling. It's a cathedral, so I don't get the heat right on my head, but it does throw off quite a bit, and those 8-50 watt bulbs burn some electricity, too. Still, the quality and color of light is wonderful. How neat must be to be planning all those new goodies. Peg, aw, darn I hoped your daughter would fly through the appendectomy. Don't be too upset with her guy--he just hasn't been properly trained yet. Have a wonderful evening, sexy lady, and a good start on the road tomorrow! No more weird dreams! Get a good nights sleep, hear me? (Yeah, right, eh?) TB, that cheese sounds lovely. I'll have to look for it--one of our local grocers carries a nice variety of Greek products, most of which I haven't tried. I like TJ's yogurt cheese, too Congrats on the SUNSHINE!! Donna, those invoices are your monthly headache, aren't they?? Judy, hope to hear from you this evening.

| OMG, today is the kind of day that you don't really want to report. I've dabbled a little too high on the calorie side. A big part of that is cheese..... grated cheese, queso, and cream cheese. Oh, but it is sooo good. Calories for the day= 1825, net carbs = 46 Breakfast -- SOT (same ole thing). I'm not too adventurous during the week. In fact, I have eaten the same breakfast for years. My husband knows when the yogurt is running low, it's time to go to the store. I track it as full value carbs, and really hope that my body treats it according to the theories. Lunch--salad with leaf lettuce, spinach, mushrooms, cheese, bacon bits, sunflower seeds and ranch dressing Snack -- a big handful of those dreaded nuts. Like Terry, I have to have something to munch on. Dinner -- yet another gourmet meal. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich at Whataburger, came home and dumped the bread, separated it into salad and chicken patty then smothered the chicken in queso. Ahhh, but dessert! That was wonderful...... A company called Minicarb used to make a hot cereal in chocolate. I still have a box of it. I made a OMM and added some coconut to the mix. It made an absolutely wonderful German chocolate cake, which I "frosted" with some cream cheese. I ate the whole thing and it was worth every calorie. I'm lovin all the menus and "recipes" that are being thrown in -- like Terry's ice cream. Terry, did you get your sunshine today? We have clouds and probably will get rain again for the weekend -- never fails at this time of the year. What kind of makeup did you buy? I saw a commercial on TV last night for a new make-up aimed at "mature" skin. The commercial was interesting enough that I might look for the makeup next time I'm in the store. Rachel --- still at 143?? I'll take it. I got back to 145.5 a couple of mornings this week. After today I'm afraid that it won't be there tomorrow. I went off and left your CD's on my desk. It was late (5:30) before I left school and by that time Pack and Mail is closed anyway. I'll do better tomorrow. (Uh, Brenda..... yours are there, too.) Did Roger like the pumpkin stuff? Barb, I'm not sure how you got the double window going. I was just messing with mine to see if I could do it. I dragged the size of the windows so that I could see both. If there is a better way, let me know. How did the dinner party go? Alida, Did you get a burst of energy after this week's treatment? Are you going to get to have the last one on Friday? We're pulling for you. Shelley may be right. Having the extra time may give your body a chance to re-coup after this set of treatments. Shelley, You are getting rid of your fluorescent under counter lights, and I just got DH to put some in for me. Does that tell you how outdated my kitchen is. This summer I want to either paint or strip those cabinets. I'm still undecided, but one thing I do know is that he will ***** the whole time we are doing it and I will be in project heaven. It's a sort of yin yang thing. Unless you have some serious air conditions available for your kitchen I would watch out for the heat from those halogens. And, have you ever bought halogen bulbs..... those babies aren't cheap! Brenda, Thanks for the reminder of the plank. I should give it a try. I noticed a day or so back that you said something about rejoining the gym after your contract runs out with Curves. Didn't you have some kind of issue with someone there? I had forgotten that you belonged to a Curves. Lately I've been doing good to get there two times per week instead of the recommended three. It's so much easier in the summer. I go in the mornings before I get showered and cleaned up. I love the fact that I can go without makeup and don't have to impress anyone. Loved the knitting guy.... yep, I'm definitely taking lessons from him. Donna, Hope you got the invoices out. I understand crunch time for numbers. This is the end of the 5th grading period and I was working on my grade entries this afternoon. Only six more weeks until school is out! Peg, How excited you must be to be going home. I Know you are ready!! Be careful tomorrow and have a good trip. It will be long, but when you ge there, you get to sleep in your own bed and no matter what shape things are in, they are your things. I'm glad that you finally heard from the SIL. I hope your daughter got to go home today. Dixie, I had just a few minutes earlier and clicked over to look at your site. Very nice! I'll try to remember to go back and read through it more closely. Thanks for popping in. I think DH is asleep --- that means I can go to bed, change channels and watch whatever I want. He does get perturbed occasionally if he wakes up to find HGTV instead of the baseball game. See you all tomorrow.
