| Dh has made a crock of the world's best French onion soup. I just leave out the blob of bread, and enjoy the fabulous flavor of onions, broth, and cheese. It smells divine. Brenda, did I know about your sojourn in Germany? Can't remember. Tell a bit more when you have a chance. Our favorite champagne cocktail was served up at a little hotel in San Francisco years ago--the same one where we stayed on our way to NZ this year. Recipe: Smush a lemon peel or small lemon wedge around the inside of a champagne flute. Place a small sugar cube (one of the square ones) in the bottom. Soak it with a few drops of Angostura Bitters. Pour in the champagne. Cheers! (P. S. You wouldn't want to do this to expensive champagne!) We are getting a tiny snow flurry! Another good reason to stay home for NY's Eve. The Chiefs managed to win today, and two other teams lost. If Denver loses, the Chiefs will actually make it to the playoffs. Perhaps Lamar Hunt (RIP) is wielding some influence in heaven?? I am so ready to start our new year healthy eating program. I've been pretty good this week, and am actually in ketosis, according to the stupid stix. Not that that means much. But it does boost my enthusiasm. I just want to be one kick-ass old broad--and to me, that means muscles that SHOW. (Even if it's only in my bathroom mirror). Alida, there are many retirement opportunities for Americans in Central America. The latest I've heard about is Honduras via an article in the KC Star--you might be able to Search it. The downside may be the lack of reliable medical care, but for people in good health, it could be the ultimate bargain. Me? I think I'll probably end up right here, in this house, until it (or I) crumble to dust. Give us a few more decades. Happy New Year! P. S. Donna--posting at the same time. Have a fabulous New Year celebration! |

| Happy New Year Everyone!! I've been eating so horrible this evening. Might as well get it out of my system so I can kick butt this 2007. I felt so great this summer and want to work to feel good this winter to get back into my spring and summer clothes again. I'll probably see 150's tomorrow even though it'll be water retention/carb bloat/salt...but hoping to get it off by Valentines Day. - - - - - Teel - Have a fun time at the party! Donna - I?m raising 2 dishwashers too! My parents got a dishwasher after us kids moved out because they said that we were the dishwashers too! Barb - me too! I want muscles that show! I?ve been working hard on weight training so now I?ve got to get down to my low end of my signature so I can show them off a bit. |
