I'll try to be back later but Brenda I have a question. You said Vicks Vaporub works for toe fungus? My mother in law has that and she's diabetic. How would she use it? Sounds like something interesting!!

Talked with the little girl's Grandma this morning and made sure that it would be okay for DH to watch little one while I walked my son back and forth to school. Wanted to make sure it was okay because afterall, she has asked me and not DH to babysit. She said it would be perfectly fine. With the great weather that is here this week I wanted to make sure I took advantage of it with my walking. If little one is sleeping I still want to go. If not she is in for a treat and can hitch a ride on the stroller.

Shelley - Good morning Shelley!
Barb - Don't you just love windows?!? I walk around each morning and open up the blinds letting the sun shine through. DH hates the sunlight and is a night person. I personally think he is part vampire. He says I'd have a house of windows. I would only if cost efficient, privacy and if people were nicer.

BC - Lets see if I can bring the nice weather over to you from Montana. Want to get more jealous? It says it's 51 degrees out. I just now opened up my livingroom window for a bit. Let's get Spring on it's way, I agree! Can't wait to play at the park again with my boys and sit on the grass.![]()
Donna, this is as I remember it. You cut the affected toenail as short as you can and keep it very, very short. Apply Vicks liberally around and as far under the toenail bed as possible every night. (I'm thinking put a sock on that foot, too, LOL). Do this every night faithfully, and during the day when it's possible.
This is not a quick cure they say, but will take at least the amount of time for a new, healthy nail to grow--so we are talking months, but you may begin to see improvement as the nail grows. It seems as though most of Dr. Gott's readers who have tried this "cure" have been successful.
It's cheap, easy, and less dangerous than drugs IMO.
Here's an interesting group of articles about home remedies I found this weekend. Some are pretty far out! http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/Searc...&Search=Search

Hi guys,
A fly by for me. Today, again, the day has totally gotten away from me. I did get a HFS *run* accomplished, and a 2 mile walk....and yeah, I'm ignoring the heel at the moment despite it's best attempts to scream at me...LOL.
I also spent quite a while on the phone getting some appointments set up.(labs and Dr), and you know how those folks LOVE to put you on hold and let you listen to elevator music....zzzzzz...
Anyhoo....Sorry I don't have time to yak at everyone, but...
Judy...have a fun and safe trip!
Eveyone else...big hugs and a big wave!!
I will be working tomorrow and Weds, and it looks to be crazy busy both days.
Should log in a few *work-walk* miles at the least.
OK...off to peel and chop some veggies, try and fold another load of laundry and get the chops on the grill.
(((hugs)))

Not sure when I will learn. I lost a loooooooong post this morning and haven't been back. Been putting together a Powerpoint program for dh, not knowing how to use the program! Ha! Has taken me all day. I am pretty tired of computers, I'll tell you.
Now, my printer isn't working. Plugged in. Green light showing. Just not getting the message from the 'puter.
There was a time tonight that I felt like throwing both of the 'puters out the window and to an untimely death on the driveway.
So, I'm goin to bed. Tomorrow? Geek Squad!!
Morning again, and a busy day ahead. Today is the Retirement party for my bf, and I was wide awake last night rehearsing my speech in my head. Tossing and turning. Dh finally said, "What's wrong with you??" So I practiced lying-very-still yoga and finally got back to sleep, just in time for the alarm.
I got up and rehearsed the Yoga practice I'll be doing with the ladies at the church Spa day Saturday. It's nice and gentle, and the Yanni music I picked is soothing, deedle-deedle-deedle type piano music.
DH got all the tax stuff together, and trudges off to the accountant today. It's a huge chore just to get the paperwork together. Luckily, our credit card (Capitol One) came through just in time with the booklet that lists and categorizes every charge for the whole year. Since I use the card for almost everything (and pay it off at the end of the month, so no interest), that gives me a pretty good picture of my spending, for tax and other purposes. Our medical expenses were way down last year. Yay! For a couple of OFs, we're in pretty good shape, especially remarkable since "one of us" is a committed couch potato.
Peg, sorry about the computer hassle. The warranty expires on my Powerbook this month, so I fully expect it to shoot craps within a short time. Murphy's Law.
Bren, between you and Shelley, we have a fount of medical wisdom to draw from. Thanks for all helpful hints and tried-and-true cures.
Time to get cleaned up and on the road. Take care, m'dears.
I came, I read, and now I must go. I have loads of computer work to do and last night was spent babysitting one of my grandchildren -- the autistic one. Now I know why you have to be YOUNG to have children.
Back later! XXOO

I'll try to be back later too. Just wanted to thank you Brenda for the advice and the link re Vicks. I called my mother in law last night and she's going to try it. The link was really interesting. I love home remedies....sure can save money. In fact I have one that I'm not sure too many people know about. Did you know you can get rid of warts with a potato? Yup, I've done it. Cut a small slice off the end of the potato and rub it on the wart. Don't wash the juice off the wart. Save the potato. Each time you think about it cut another slice off and again rub it on the wart. The saying is that by the time the potato is all used up the wart will be gone. I'm sure it's the acid in the potato juice that does it....but it really works. Okay...who's got the next one?

I've been so productive today. Worked on decluttering games, puzzles, coloring crayons, tupperware, cleaning supplies....then I mopped the kitchen and bathroom. Scrubbed the bathroom. I've waited to vacuum (do it everyday) until the kids take a nap today so they'll be out of the way. Getting easier to keep things straight since I'm tossing/donating lots of stuff. Kids are having lunch now since they got done with their coloring. Probably put on some cartoons to have them relax a bit before nap.

Peg - Sorry to hear about your computer. I'm awful with them but luckily I have my own DH who could be part of that Geek Squad. Family is always borrowing him and calling him up to fix their computer.
Barb - Have a good day at work!
Alida - Howdy!
Donna - I didn't know that about warts! My poor 8 year old had to have one frozen TWICE last month. He hated it but said he didn't want it to fall off because after each treatment we took him to the store for trading cards
Hey Gang!
Rats, Peg! I'd love to have a nice long post from you. Please try again when everything is working better. IMO most pc's are bewitched--that's one of the more polite terms
Shell, hope by the time you read this you are home and relaxingDid you get all your appointments?
Barb, no doubt your speech will go just fine, although the occasion maybe somewhat bittersweet. Is bf a writer, too? I'm still managing to ignore the tax file in front of me. I'm procrastinating even more because there are a couple of issues we are reporting for last year that I've never handled before. Hope TurboTax asks me the right questions! If not, to an accountant we go.
Alida, thanks for checking in this amHope your day goes well.
Donna, glad you liked the home remedyThe potato remedy is really fascinating!
Here are a couple of things I've had some experience with--not remedies, per se, but home "beauty" tips. These are both old, old ones.
--Apple cider vinegar for a toner after you wash your face. Try it, unless you have a cut or booboo. It feels good and you only smell like a pickle for about 2 minutes
--Fruit Acids as an exfoliant--works like an AHA product. Dab the juice or pulp of a fruit on your face and let sit. Easy to do while cooking, if your family doesn't think you are crazy. Let's see if I can find a link....ok, here

I just love home remedies BC. The natural ones the you could eat are the best. Tired eyes? Put cucumbers on them, relax and then have a snack.
Okay, I can't believe how on a roll I am today decluttering. I decided I had to many recipe books so I just got rid of half. Now they all fit on the shelf perfectly and not on top of each other. Those books I didn't use anyway and I can always look on the net. Of course I had to keep some kids cookbooks (good for kids and me because less items for tight budgets) and my betty crocker cookbooks. They give calorie, carb, if the serving is a starch/fat/fruit....love those books! Good for every diet.
Now I'm off to catch up on some more e-mails and then bible study while the kids are STILL napping.![]()
Hi guys,
I'm frazzled...physically and mentally...LOL. I woke up at 0219 and never went back to sleep...my usual MO on work days, it seems. We had a very busy day at work; tomorrow looks to be better though, thank goodness.
DH insisted on dining out, and who was I to deprive him of the pleasure, yanno?...LOL.
Just showered, got the jammies on...yeah, it's not even dark yet!...headed to the sofa and most likely will crash soon after that.
Sorry all I can offer is a fly by tonight...hopefully I can sit and chat more tomorrow evening.
Everyone...be well...and behave!LOL!

I'm here. Still supporting these d*** computer. Been gone most of the day. Spanish, lunch with my new Pastor, and I get to preach on the 18th!! Yay! I'll join the church that day too. Also, learned today that there might be an interim for me through the summer. Yay!
I'll be back tomorrow.
Peace, Peg
Pretty tired from all the decluttering I did today. DH hasn't noticed any of it tee hee. It feels so wonderful to be free of junk. Tomorrow looks to be 61 degrees!! DH said that I could walk ds to school while he watched the little ones. If I get the kids to sleep in time I might join him for his lunch too.

Shelley - I can only imagine how busy you are at your job. Dealing with people all day has to be mentally exhausting as well.
Peg - I'm so happy for you Preacher Peg. That is truly awesome.
