| Okay, flipped back and thought I was in Shelley's journal so only posted to her. I'm tired, don't mind me. Here is me finishing... Peg - I love to grocery shop. I make sure I pick up healthy choices and it motivated me to stay on plan. BC - Congrats on your new improved smile!! // The peanut butter jars have always been trouble in my past with overeating. I'll grab the jar and just munch away. Now to measure each tbls and then add measured water too is just to much work. Love this! Sappose to bake just like real peanut butter but I could imagine how long it would take just to make cookies. - - - - - Tomorrow is a new day! Been eating good & got in exercise today, going to the doctor tomorrow to get all checked out and going to be good as new. |

| Lovely spring rain drizzling down this morning. The birds and the bees are happy, and so am I. Shelley, I've seen advertisements for a "self-cleaning" shower thingie. You hang it from the showerhead, and when you're not in the shower, it spritzes the whole compartment. I'm a skeptic, but you might give it a try. How's the finger? Did you get it stitched? I had a run-in with a Cuisinart blade once, and I was amazed at how long and how much that cut bled. BTW, that little tear in my thumb hasn't healed yet, but the New Skin stuff helps protect it with less trouble than a bandaid. BC, with the cleavage and the braces, bet you DID pass as a 16-year-old.:great: Did they card you? Peg, there's a Costco on my way home from work, and it's so handy. I stopped by last night to get flowers (for the dinner party tonight, and for the yoga sessions tomorrow) and bottled tea (my friend drinks tons of tea.) But of course, you can never get out of Costco with just the things on your list. I restrained most impulses, but made a mental list for next time. I love their Stella blue cheese crumbles. ETOH? What's that? I never drank alcohol until I married a wine connoisseur. The connoisseur part has seriously eroded, but a lot of wine still gets poured at our house. I grew up in a house where an evening highball (parents) and parties with alcohol were normal, and it never occurred to me to use alcohol as a form of rebellion or entertainment. But then, I'm a gal who went to college in the 60s and never even saw a joint, let alone smoked one. Talk about sheltered. Actually, I just had other things to do. I'm reading a book called Leap! which is about life changes in the Boomer years. I'll quote you some quotes as I go along. Well, this is long enough, even though I haven't acknowledged everybody. Alida, drive carefully. [[[[hugs]]]] all around. |

| quick fly by for me this morning. I have my yearly *well woman* check this morning, so I'll be heading out in a bit. The finger still oozes when I take the bandage off, but definitely improved since last night..oye! I think I'll be able to skate by without sutures, but it will certainly have to have a bandage on for a few days. Alrighty...off to shower and grab a cuppa before I head out for the day. Everyone...TGIF and have a good one! (((hugs))) Shelley

| Barb, carded? LOL, nope that hasn't happened since I was 30, but thanks for giving me a smile. Funny coincidence, but I'm a sixties gal who never saw a joint, either. Didn't rebel, had her first mixed drink at 28, for pete's sake. Bah! Sometimes I think being a good girl is highly overrated :square: ETOH--I had to activate some sleepy brain cells, but it's On The Other Hand. Shelley keeps us fluent in pc-speak Oh, yes.....the Costco return trip. I've been known to make my list for a return trip, particularly when dh is with me at the time Shell, your finger is still oozing? Ick! Should have had those stitches yesterday, I'll bet ya--but that wouldn't have been my first choice either. Have "fun" at your appointment. Is that possible?? While I'm out on the town with bf today, I'll be looking for some SPANX. I haven't decided if I want the capri "pantihose" type or the more supportive (and more expensive) body shaper capri. I also can't imagine what size I should get. I know what the chart says, but often I buy a size larger so that the the bulges don't get pushed out either end or over emphasized. Sunshine today and might make it to 48. I'm ready for the snow to melt. Finally saw robins, though, so better weather may come yet. Off now.

| Good Morning! I've been hangin' around without much to say.. but, today, I'm going to jump in with my 2 cents ![]() The self cleaning shower "thingies" a couple of the gals down here have them and they say they work great even on shower curtains. That's one cent. Spanx.... I bought some in my size range.. I really was almost border line.. they didn't do a thing.. so I sold them to a friend and bought the next size down. I bought the ones that go from the bra to mid thigh. They are very comfortable.. I would not recommend a size bigger than normal. The capri length has like a panty hose at the end and I was afraid they would run after a period of time. Peg also has Spanx.. so; she might have some recommendations to.. they certainly smooth out your lines. Today is beach, tomorrow air show, Sunday pot luck, Monday shuffleboard, karoke party Weds... head home on Thursday. We should be back in the land of Oz by the 18th.. have to make stops at both dd's on the way home. Have not been eating or drinking healthy, but have managed to drop a few more pounds.. total of about 11 since I came down... the alchol must be burning the fat when I get home and there is no happy hour I should become a mere shadow of myself |

| Morning, ladies. Thought I'd pop in and say Hi. I'm a little groggy this morning, due to a little green man. Yep. Really. We have a Mike Wazowski doll (from Monsters Inc.) that talks when you pull his arm. Well, last night he decided to be talkative all by himself. He's been known to do that when a fan is running that makes him move ever so slightly. Anyway, I kept hearing him pipe up throughout the night. "Aye, aye, captain!" "I've got my eye on you." "What are you lookin' at, two-eyes?" He's down the hall in our guest bedroom. Actually, he was sitting on Sophie's potty chair that I bought to have on hand when she's ready for it. It seemed a convenient place to put Mike. I went in this morning to see, and there he sat, no fan on or anything, so I don't know why he was jabbering on throughout the night. (It's kind of disconcerting to hear Billy Crystal's voice when you're halfway in dreamland. Now, if it had been James Earl Jones' voice, or Patrick Stewart's, or someone else with a fluid, give-you-chills-down-your-spine voice, I might have kept on dreaming happily.) Mike is now sitting on the arm of the sofa in the living room. If he keeps yammering on his own, he's going to be stuffed in a closet! Shelley, take care of that finger. Bert - I might have to try you weight loss plan. Didn't they used to have a Drinking Man's Diet??? BC - I hate undies that make you pooch out where the garment isn't. Makes you kinda feel like a sausage being squeezed out of its casing. Barb - I lived a sheltered life, too. No one in my family smoked, I'm not sure I'd know what "weed" looks like if it were growing in my backyard. And the only alcohol my folks drank was the occasional glass of Mogen David wine, usually blackberry. {Shudder, that stuff is sweeeeeeeet.} Heather - we're still worried about you. Peg - I hear good things about Costco, but we'd have to drive 110 miles to the nearest one. As it is, the nearest Sam's is 80 miles. We do go to a Super WalMart 50 miles away. We're supposed to get a supercenter next year, but it's going to be small, so it might not be worth shopping at for the BIG shopping day. It sure is nice to get a lot of good bargains, though. So, when you're shopping, think of poor old me who is stuck in Booneyville without good shopping. Sniff.

| Hi guys, Back from my appt; all is well I see one of our *wayward* wanderer's dropped in today...LOL. Just kiddin' with ya, Berta! Good to see ya. Sounds like you have a very full schedule coming up. Nita...hello. Nice of you to pop in for a visit, as well! We are a pretty chatty bunch as a general rule, and we chat just about anything and everything...LOL. Barb...I think it rained here in the middle of the night, and then moved on towards your way. It does almost feel like spring today. Alida...hope you are OK. Have a good day, kiddo! Bren...LOL...I was like, huh? on the ETOH. Sorry, I just automatically use abbreviations...ETOH is for Ethanol alcohol. I think the *pc speak* you were referring to is OTOH...on the other hand, yes? Have fun on your *fling* today! Peg...whats up for you today? I just saw this internet blurb about Costco and thought of you; here's a link if you're interested: http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com....aspx?GT1=9215 Judy, Teel, Donna, Heather...a big HOWDY to ya'll! OK...off for a bite of lunch, then I need to buzz to the HFS in a bit. I hope they got their shipment of almonds in...<sigh> They have been sold out the last 2 times I've gone for them. DD just called; DGS is sick today with what sounds like the awful GI stuff going around. Poor lil guy, can't keep anything down. Another reason for them to live closer to old Nonney. Maybe one of these days. Everyone have a good weekend!...start early if you can...LOL! (((hugs))) Shelley

| Leave in about an hour for my appointment. Might ask DH to take me although I think he would rather stay home. If he had an appointment I would want to go. So there, he is going to at least help with the 3 year old who will not want his mommy to leave him at home. // oldest broke his glasses last night so will have to drop them off to be fixed. // having a blue day today so hope that it passes soon. - - - - - - - - - - Barb - Morning, now afternoon to you. Shelley - TGIF! I hate those appointments, dread them. // Sorry to hear about dgs and hope he feels better soon. BC - Robbins!! Springs is right around the corner. Berta - I just love your diet plan. Nita - Well Hello lady!! So glad that you came to join in. // Thanks for the worries. I need to feel mothered sometimes. Today is one of those days. Does anyone else ever feel like they take care of everyone else and get forgotten about sometimes? I need to stop that nonsense. I have a lot of people who care and it just be the grogginess talking. |

| NITA!! cOME BACK. We are always welcoming to new folks around our fireplace. (We each have a fantasy about what our gathering place looks like, but, for sure, it is a circle of friends. Shel: Dang on the finger Judy: Welcome home today, I hope. Bren: I DO love Spanx. I have the kind that are capri length and have the "hose" at the bottom. They have run, but I wear them anyway. Who cares. No one sees them. I also have the kind that come up to your bra. I can't pull them up correctly in the back, so I can only wear them when dh is home to hike them up for me. I've also found that they have a tendency to roll down. I also have the really industrial kind that go down to my thigh. My fat sticks out a little at the bottom, but I usually one wear them with a slim skirt. I'd be lost without them to wear with my Chico's traveling stuff. Barb: Sounds like a good read. Who wrote it? Alida: Where are you today? Heather: Let us know what the Dr says. I'm off to Target for a shoe stretcher and Best Buy for a new printer. I have been trying all day to get the danged laptop back online. I finally decided that the printer just stopped. It was cheap anyway. Dh is hogging the computer today doing the taxes on Turbo Tax online. What a blessing! Number one that he does it, and number two that it is online arithmetic and not his! Gotta go. Back later. Peace, Peg |

| Hi everyone. It's been a hectic week for me ...invoices again. But, I've been able to pop in here every now and again to keep caught up. Dh is sick again. His cold just came back so fast....today he's gone home early. That's a sure sign that he's sick...he never leaves work early. Guess that means our plans to go out for dinner are kaput....Dang!! Nita: I bought my grandaughter a Big Bird doll that did the same thing. Except it said "Peek a boo". In the middle of the night the stupid thing would go off and scare the heck out of us. I was so glad when Christmas came and they would take it home. Ds finally took the batteries out of it cause it was spooking them! lol Peg: Good to see you home. I'm so glad that your bf is feeling better and got good results. Judy: We're missing you! Alida: Didn't see a post from you this morning either. What did you think of Survivor last night? I'm getting tired of seeing that team lose. Even had a brief thought that I wouldn't watch it anymore....very brief thought. Can't wait for new episodes of Grey's Anatomy too! These re-runs get tiring. Heather: Good luck on the dr.'s appointment. Don't forget to let us know what happens. And we all have those moments when we feel a little used. I had one last night as dh was sitting watching American Idol while I had to cook dinner. But, it passed (good thing for him) Shelley: Hope the finger is feeling better. I've been lucky in not needing stiches for quite awhile....but I sure get my share of papercuts. Those things really hurt! Last week I was licking a big manila envelope and the darn thing cut me right across the cheek! It's a gorgeous sunny day here today....but really windy. Not going to stop me this weekend though. I plan on getting out and starting some pruning. Also have some new bulbs to plant. I will be the one letting out a huge *sigh* as I get dirty again!! lol Dd had a moment yesterday but she handled it well. She got a phone call that the funding for her rehab wouldn't be paid for. She was just sobbing, but calmed down finally when I told her to call the worker and see if something else could be done. Looks like they are trying another avenue. But, of course, I got myself all worked up thinking I would have to try to find the money somewhere for her to go. When I get upset the skin on my face starts to burn. It's nasty looking today. All burnt between my eyes and across my forehead. No trying to fool anyone and let on that things don't bother me! I'm about ready to give up on my weight. No matter what I do I can't drop any pounds. I'm turning green with all the salads that I eat!! Still won't budge. I suppose I should get out the book and start to reread it....just don't have the ambition right now. My clothes just aren't looking like they should on me either. Talk about having "one of those days!" Hope you all have a great weekend.

| Howdy everyone! Wasn't at the doc long. She ran some tests and I have a follow up next Thursday to go over the results. Said that she is looking into things like my thyroid and anemia. Kinda hope that she finds something easy to fix. Maybe some over the counter "cheap" supplement. One can hope! - - - - - - Peg - Have fun shopping! Donna - Thanks for commenting on my used moment. Luckily it is passed here too. |

| Hey gals! Welcome back Bert, and a Howdy to Nita. Great to see you both I had a great day, but I'm a little headachy right now, so if I make even less sense than usual, please forgive me! Speaking of having a ditzy brain: Quote:
Sorry for the confusion, Shelley.Peg and Bert, thanks for your take on the Spanx. I did buy a pair of the capri panty hose--the ones you like, Peg. I'm mainly in the "reduce the jiggle" mode and these seem to do the trick nicely without taking a hoist to get on. I've got a yen to try the low rise capri, too, LOL! Peg, I looked at the model you mentioned that goes all the way up the ribcage--ya think that would squish up some boobage for me:silly: Quote:
Shell and Heather, your appointments are over. Whew! Nita, I agree--Billy Crystal's voice in the night just wouldn't do it for me, either Donna, your dd is trying to do the right thing and the system really isn't helping her, is it! I do hope that some other funding will be found. It's good to hear she didn't completely fall apart--that's encouraging, too. I'll bid everyone good night. I'm going to cast on for a cute little beret in a japanese self-striping yarn--if I can remember how and if this translation from Danish isn't too off. Wish me luck.

| Donna: Hello, my dear. Try "mixing things up." That is, eat high carbs one day and low carbs the next. That is one way that I can see the scale go down. Sorry dh is sick. Spring colds can be so terrible. I envy you planting bulbs this weekend. I can't plant ANYTHING. Apartment, you know. When we move to the ofh, I may have to ask the neighbors whether I can play in the dirt. W'll see Heather; Glad you saw the Dr. Do you feel better? I've been trying to support my new printer. I called the Geek Squad and they can't come for another week, so I went ahead and bought an "all in one." I was looking at them at Best Buy and a woman said to me: "If you are serious about buying, you might go to Comp USA. They are going out of business and are having great sales." So that's what I did and scored! Of course, because I am such lightweight, I can't get the dumb thing to work correctly. Aaaack!!! Dh and I had a nice little arguement this afternoon. He keeps saying: "If it were just me, I would/n't......" I called him on it and he went ballistic. We have been married 25 years now and it's time he stopped telling me how he would be different if it were "just him." We did talk it through and I think he understands my feelings, but he is so da** competitive! Of course, you all know that I am NOT (ha!). So, it makes for a rocky time sometimes. Well, back to trying to get my new printer set up. See ya tomorry! Peg |

| Good morning! I missed yesterday, I think. (CRS ...) And where's Barb this morning? Oh, I think she had her yoga thingy. No good excuse for yesterday. Got up late, came to LCE, read, then had to get on with my morning. We had an employee meeting yesterday at a pizza place. Did I eat pizza? Yes. And just the day before I was back in ketosis. Sigh. Another two days now to get back to where I was. Just a brief word on Spanx -- I got the ones that go to mid-thigh. And yup, Brenda, it pushes the fat out just enough that there's a bulge showing where the Spanx ends. Sigh. So I do not wear them. Although Capri's may be good. Not too much fat down there above my ankle! Today I am going to paint some more colors on foam core. I still can't make up my blooming mind. Brenda, did you ever paint your LR? Remember when we were looking at those gold/yellow colors? Donna, I do have to add DANG IT on the funding for your DD's rehab. But it is good news that she seemed to take it well. As for weight ... I know you and I love those bars. Are you still eating them? There was a brief time I omitted them and I did lose. I substituted a OMM for the bar as my 4 PM snack with my tea. And Peg may be on to something on mixing up your carb levels. Yanno how sometimes we think we eat way too much and the next day we are down a pound? Might be something to that! Agree with you re: Survivor! To everyone: HI! Sorry, but I have a full Saturday planned. And part of the plan is a tad of slugdom! XXOO
