| OK, now that chore's over. Shelley, thanks for the handwashing tip. And leave it to Brenda, eh? I am so glad you are able to get some walking in. Yanno, I saw a thingy in my Solutions catalog that's supposed to help PF ...http://www.solutions.com/jump.jsp?it...2C10049&page=3 Looks like an object of torture left over from the Inquisition, but I wonder if it would help? Brenda, you cracked me up with your comment about length and friction. Only you ..... Congrats on your big score! Everything sounds wonderful ... and needed. As for your comment about buying clothes to "go to work," hmmmm. Anything going on in the back of your brain? Peg, how is your BF doing? (((HUGS))) and (((PRAYERS))) for both of you. Barb, LOL about being hot in mourning. But now that I think about it, I'll bet you do look good in black! Piles of papers? Just like my desk. With the boss being sick, the pile is growing. I have a few more 'puter things to do this AM ... so this is short. A big HELLO to all I've missed. Have a good one! XXOO

| Hi gang, Not much going on for me today, just a trip to the dentist this afternoon for routine cleaning and checking...ack! I hate to say it, but I've got a molar that started *zinging* when I drink hot beverages...and I know what that means...boo & hiss! It seems when I have to re-do a filling, that tooth almost always turns into a root canal. I sure hope it's simply a sensitive area in the gum line that's causing that sensation, but, knowing my luck...yatta, yatta, yatta. Alida...as always, thanks for starting our new thread. Barb...happy haircut day to you! I have ~followed~ my stylist to 2 different locations since I started going to her in 1992-ish. I love her to pieces! We go to dinner or lunch sometimes; she's a hOOt and always has me LMBO! Bren....outta the mouths of babes....you were just on your game yestereday, eh? LOL! Whatcha gonna do today? Did you guys get more snow? I just caught the end of the weather blurb about ice and snow *to the north*. Judy...wOOt on DD's soon to be new digs! It's amazing how fast real estate moves these days. Seems like we used to have to wait forever for *closing*. Now it seems to happen with in a matter of a few weeks. I'm betting you'll be part of the moving party, yes? Donna...missed you yesterday. Hope you are well. Heather...hey girl! How are things? Peg, Bert, Teel, hope you all are doing good! ![]() OK...off to start a load of laundry, make the bed, and a few other things that need my attention. I doubt I will walk today...the heel thang, yanno. DH was a sweetie yesterday and brought me a gift home while on one of his errands. A $25 iTunes card, so I think I'll be music shopping here in a bit...a gal can never have to many tunes on the iPod...LOL. prolly back later...after the dentist...I'm sure I'll need to ~whine~ a little (((hugs all 'round))) Shell

| Happy March 1st everyone!! Hope to see spring soon. Outside it's foggy and snowing. We'll be running our errands today close to home. I don't know what is wrong or right with me ![]() I've been getting killer headaches the last couple of days. The culprit? I've cut down from about 8 cups of coffee a day to just two in the morning. Figured it wasn't good to rely on caffeine throughout the day so taking drastic measures. - - - - - - - - - - Alida - thanks for starting off the thread to this wonderful group. I look forward to see what everyone here is up to. Who needs daytime tv when I have you all? Shelley - Everyone is so wonderful!! Seems like people have been lifting me up left and right. Thanks for the compliment on being organized. I really try. Barb - I just love your avatar my 130 pound skinny friend. My goal says the same but I'm currently lying and refusing to change it because I will get back there. My re-goal to goal date is middle may if I stay on track and my body does what I need it to. Now that my life is getting it's routine back with my babysitting at my house (no tempting grandparent food) then hopefully some pounds will come off soon. Plus Spring this month right? Tell me it will come Barb! |

| The sun is shining, the birds are singing...hard to remember it's just the 1st of March. Quite the nip in the air this morning and I had to scrape my car windows....but it's coming. Alida: Thanks for starting the new thread. Don't have to remind you what night this is do I? Brenda: You really do crack me up. I had to tell dh what you said and he got quite the laugh too. I wear clogs to work everyday....just love them! Heather: Quite the snugglebug are you? Spring fever must be in the air. I saw a bunch of robins yesterday so it's definitely coming. Although watching the news last night they are getting hit hard around Seattle....that's only about a days drive from here and we've got gorgeous weather. Judy: WooHoo on the possible sale! I bet your dd is jumping with joy. How's that Lexie girl doing...no new holes? Barb: Not like you to forget what month it is.....brain f*rt this morning? I get them regularly, so you're not alone. Peg: Hoping all is well with your bf. Prayers coming from the north for her. **** Yesterday I treated dd to a new hairdo. It's her birthday on the 14th so I thought it might help to keep her on track. What a difference....so cute. She's got really thick, heavy hair and with all the damage she's done to her body you can see it in her hair. They took off about 5" in the length and put brown streaks in....she's a blonde. It's adorable. Makes her look so much younger and perkier. Hmmmm....wonder what it could do for this old chick? Dh wasn't happy...he thinks she's being spoiled now. Maybe so, but if it helps I'll do it. As Peg would say....he can go suck rocks! No walking last night. Wind was howling again. Why is it that it can be great all day and as soon as I head home the damned wind comes up and it's really cold? Probably just as well, I'm still battling a sinus headache (4 days now) and have this weird pain in my shoulder when I cough or turn the wrong way. *sigh* this getting older is for the birds. If the day comes when I don't wake up with a new pain....then I'm sure I'll be dead. After work today I have to get to the pharmacy and get dh's 4 prescriptions renewed. I couldn't help but ask him if he rattles when he walks. Guess I shouldn't complain...I don't have to take anything (yet) Well ladies, month end is waiting for me and it's a sure bet no one else is going to do it for me. Talk to you all later.

| Awww....just took a nice power nap with the kids. Since I don't have church this evening I plan on doing my exercises tonight. Keeps me away from the refrigerator and the hunger at bay during those pesky food commercials. Earlier we went shopping for food and boring things but DH bought me one of those military camo hats. Love it!! It matches my camo pants but I probably won't wear them out together in public. Something tells me that it would be going overboard. Tomorrow I plan on buying a wicker basket for underneath the coffee table to hide the kids toys. During the day I like to keep them out in the livingroom to watch them better. I plan on buying 2 for underneath the futon couch for my weights. Right now it just looks to cluttered for my taste. Hope this will help. ------------------------------ Donna - Sounds like you DH is a typical guy BC - Learn to ignore!! As long as the lighters are up and people are clear of the stove they can wait. |

| The offers and counter offers have ended. DD signs the "for real" paper work tonight. She then has a ten day period to get in all the inspections and appraisals, etc. DH is going back to Dallas tomorrow to get some definite measurements for upgrades and to help with some of the leg work. ETA for closing and is March 23rd or 28th (can't remember). If it's the 28th, that won't leave much time for chasing nastiness before she has to move out of the apartment. Honestly, I can't take off any more days to go help her. Spring Break is before the closing and the next holiday is April 6. I'm sure she will need help then, but a Saturday or Sunday is all that I can do for her until the middle of June.

| Judy, she's a grownup. She can figure out how to do get it done. If not, nothing like trial by fire Shell, how was the dentist? Hope you didn't get bad news. Have you bought some tunes?? Oldies? Walkin' music? I'm making a list, myself Heather, I think you'll like the look of the baskets. I try to hide things that are unlovely in the livingroom, too. Donna, the weather is really unreliable here, too. We got an inch of frozen slush last night and thunderstorm with flooding rains today. But all that rain will freeze again tonight.....and thaw tomorrow. No walking around here, either. Alida and Barb, hey girls. Always nice to read your posts first thing in the am. And Alida, thanks for starting us off for March. Peg, TB, Bert, Rach, big waves. I miss each of you! My day? Confess to another pair of shoes--a pair on clearance I looked at yesterday. A nice long workout--man, I think my bod is really happy to be back in that groove again. And a trip to Costco to buy memory cards for the various cameras. Amazing price if you have the coupon book. DH couldn't resist. Now, however, I'm extremely behind with the non-shopping end of things, but that will have to wait. Too much good tv on tonight! hugs to all!

| Hi Gang! I'm back home after helping out bgf for the last three days. She came through surgery just fine. Pathology doesn't come back until next week. I'm going with her to the Dr., since she didn't ask the questions that she should have yesterday! Of course, the Dr. wouldn't tell me anything since I'm "just" a friend. (I do understand confidentiality, Shel) I'm really tired. But, I am glad I helped her. It feels good. I did her dishes several times and cooked for her. Also, drove for her. She is pretty amazing. Her pain tolerance is high, so she got up this morning feeling pretty good. She was going to go to the store "just to get a few things out of the way." I said, "No driving for 24 hours, remember?" She looked at me like I was crazy. But, I prevailed. I drove her! Sheesh. But, she took me out to bkfst after. I've been reading to keep up. This is the first I've gotten to a computer since I left. Prayers for all in the midwest and south re the weather! Peace, Peg |

Met two interesting hunks today. Ever hear of Project Everlasting? Two cute single guys in an RV drove across the country interviewing couples happily married for 40 years or more. They're writing a book. They were guests at Hallmark today--and what a couple of cuties! If I were young and single.... Donna, like Judy, you're a generous mom. Hope your dd appreciates your appreciation of the important things--like looking your best. Today's weather in KC: rain followed by snow followed by sunshine, with a cold breeze. I slept through the hailstorm in the middle of last night. Zheesh. It must be spring. Dh is preparing "tostado mountains." I eat everything but the tortilla part, and it's quite a feast. Time to kick back and do the tv thing. Nighty-nite, my dears. P. S. Peg, posting simultaneously. You are a friend indeed. |

| Night everyone! I forced myself to workout tonight. I was so tired but felt so good while exercising and of course when I was done. Took a nice bath and feel so great! ---------- Judy - How exciting to have a house!! My sister was so excited when she bought hers she made her husband sleep on the floor in blankets that first night they got the keys. BC - Nice to hear that you are enjoying getting your groove back baby. Peg - glad to hear that your friend is going to recover just fine. It's so sweet that you were able to drive her around. You are a really good friend. Barb - Two single guys interviewing couples married for 40 years or more. Wow! And they are cute? Sounds like a couple of nice romantic catches that hopefully some nice girl meets. |

![]() I'm not making breakfast this morning, because I'm invited to sit at the Hallmark table at some sort of charity breakfast. Why did I volunteer for that?? I have to get myself downtown by 7 a.m. to eat green eggs and ham. It's a "literacy" event, and they're honoring the legacy of Dr. Seuss. I owe my career to Dr. Seuss, actually. I got hooked on verse. Shelley, how's the tooth? I have appts. coming up for all the usual--teeth, mammo, and gyno stuff. I'm extremely grateful for the gift of good health so far--and I believe it IS a gift. Some of us work harder than others at maintaining healthy habits, but lots of things are beyond our control. It does make me unhappy though that American culture, with its hurry-up lifestyle, has created a terrible food environment. Lots of people have grown up believing macaroni and cheese from a box is actual food. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I read Regina Wilshire's blog regularly, and the stuff she discusses reminds me that LC is my lifesaver, not just a weight loss thing. My hair is a little too short, but it grows. I've about lost the rest of my highlights, so I'll have to do that little trick again soon. Peg, welcome home. Donna, hang in there with the month-end responsibilities. Alida, what's up for you today? Heather, Rachel, Teel, Brenda, Judy....good thoughts. |
