| Quickie fly by.... Donna...glad everything went well. Gosh, girlie, hope that swelling goes down really quick. Nita...we are bracing for round....oh, I dunno...maybe round 5 ot 6??? LOL. It seems like we've had bad weather for a very long time. Actually the day we took the kids to the airport in Tulsa on April 30th, that was the start of all this mess. We've got major flooding here in the metro; more BIG weather, rains coming. You guys take care too! Yeppers...our *hunker down* room is actually the laundry room. No windows and small inside room. Alida...I'm trying really hard to do a *clean* induction. This is probably my 4th try at Atkins. I'm hoping since I have some other *issues* under control, I'll get it right this time! Barb...the supposedly tornado here in OKC has actually been determined to have been straight line winds around 75-80 mph at the golf course on the north side of the metro. Yikes! That's plenty windy for me! Everyone else...be well. I'll be SOOOOO glad when all our gang gets back here around the cabana! Oh...I'm getting some of that eyelash stuff that Teel told us about. My GF that's an aesthetician has tried it and also says it's great! So, hoping my order comes in pretty soon...I'm excited! OK...over and out for now! (((hugs to all!))) Shell

| ooohhhh.... love that hat, sweetie! and look at that beautiful BLUE water! Looks like you were one, laid back, tropical gal! shutting down...BIG thunder and more RAIN. We remain under flash flood warning, and they expect the over night rainfall to be significant. Alot of the rivers have already reached flood stage, but have not crested yet; should be interesting over the next 24-48 hours. (((hugs))) S.

| Excellent Pic, Peg!!! Looks like you had a wonderful time........... I'm still jealous! We have weather potential again tonight, too. Luckily the storms played out last night before they got to us. DD reports that the electricity was out again last night and that the thunder is building for another bad night in the Big D/Carrollton area. (Peg, hope your Carrollton daughter is having better luck.) Remember that drought we've had the last couple of years? The lakes are all back to "normal" height. This is the first time we have started the summer at norm in a while. Off to bed --- wonder how long it will be before Lexie heads for her storm shelter (in the closet under my lower hanging rack)?

| Welcome home, Peg! Gorgeous picture--and the scenery behind you is nice, too. We're glad you're safely back with happy memories. Now it's on to the next thing immediately, eh? We're watching the Missouri River, and others, rising to a high crest. Folks are sandbagging and hoping. Depending on which report you look at, we are or are not expecting more rain. But the water still comes down the rivers from wherever it rained before. Donna, hope you get a chance to put up that leg. Ouchie. Maybe you should use this as an excuse to wear those comfy Crocs every day. Hmmm. My weight has been up two lbs. for several days, so I'm not sure I can use the "it's just water" excuse. However, since I don't know what's changed in my diet, I'll just wait and see. Good luck to all you inductees. Last but not least... Happy Birthday, Alida! |

| Good morning! Yes, as of 8:25 am this morning, I will be 61 years old! Only one more year to go before I start collecting Social Security!! For some reason, I am thinking of my Mother this morning. Not so strange, I guess. She gave me life. I wish she was still here. But wherever she is ... Thank You, Mom! (And Dad, too. He had something to do with it)! Bob and I will celebrate this weekend. Just dinner out. And I hope it will be dry so I can plant some flowers and finally get the tree ring done! DONNA, you went to the office? Oh, I hope you were able to get home early enough to put your feet UP. (((HUGS))) Did you get that phone call yet? You and I are probably at the same place diet-wise. Yes, it is time to get SERIOUS. Seriously ... no, seriously! PEG, welcome home! The picture is fabulous! I can't wait to see more. I hope you'll have time, what with the move and all. Keep us posted! You were MISSED. SHELLEY, darn that weather. You really seem to be getting the brunt of it. I know a lot of people here in Missouri are affected ... those close to the river. But here in my little area, we seem to be OK. It was actually sunny all day yesterday. Gave everything a chance to dry out a little. Your weight loss proves you are doing a great induction! NITA, I really don't know how people live without a basement! I mean, where do you put STUFF? I remember Judy mentioning that basements are rare in Texas. I think California, too. There must be many places in the US where basements are just not an option. But yanno, half the stuff in my basement could probably be thrown out and I wouldn't even miss it! JUDY, did someone say you are heading to Dallas this weekend? More help on your DD's new home? Sigh. I would love to stay and chat more, but I have some computer work to do. Have a lovely, dry, sunny day everyone. One can always wish. XXOO

| HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Alida. Hope you have a great day today!! I'm back at work after leaving yesterday at 2:30. Didn't do me much good to go home and put my foot up (except that I got to see Oprah). By bedtime last night I could see what my toes normally look like...this morning they are back to fat piggies. It's very hard to walk cause I can't bend my knee and my leg is sooooo swollen. I can't wait until Saturday when I can take them bandages off. I was so lost last night too....not being able to soak in the tub with my book (and 2 squares of chocolate), I didn't know what to do with myself. Finally went into the kitchen and made a couple of mock danish for breakfasts. Just didn't seem right to not be able to soak! Peg: Loved the picture. You look so tanned and relaxed. Come on though...you must have more stories for us. Shelley: What terrible weather!! I guess we're very lucky that we never get anything like that. And I complain about the wind when you are going through such terrible stuff. Shame on me!! Alida: Sorry...I don't have anything to report from dd's mental health worker. She never called me back. When I left yesterday I told the boss to get her to call me at home. Either she didn't call here or he didn't give her the message. Or....he locked up early and went home. I'll ask him when he finally crawls in around 9:30. (I always say he comes to work after cartoons are over...lol) Enjoy your day. Are you going out for dinner? Brenda: Where the heck are you girl....come on back, you're missed. Nita: Ditto on not having a basement. I mean where in the heck do you put all that stuff! My dh would be lost without having his little cave to go to and pretend he knows how to work all those power tools. Barb: Yup...those Crocs are back on my feet today. I tried on 4 pair of sandals and couldn't get my foot under the straps of any of them. So it was back to the Crocs. Even they are a little snug. I just take them off when I'm at my desk. *** Looks like tonight I will have to plant all my new plants whether I'm in the mood or not. We had some pretty strong winds last night so I wasn't about to go out and play. Besides, if I left work early I felt guilty about being outside. (okay, I did sneak out and cut the grass in the backyard, but the fence is 7 feet tall and no one could see me) Dh has a ballgame tomorrow night and he's heading to WalMart first to get me a park bench for the front yard. Am I spoiled...yup, and I deserve it. lol I'm still too swollen to report any weight loss. I think I'll wait until the bandages are off to see what's what. Guess I should get back to work. I'm cut off from the computers at the press at noon so they can get ready for invoices to be downloaded tomorrow.

| Hi guys, I can't believe it hasn't rained today....(yet). I should not speak of this; the skies will open up and show me! Alida...again...Happy BD!!! Hope you can knock off work early at least? We do not very often have homes with basements here in OOOOklahoma. The water table is to high; they would stay full of water all the time. We make use of our attic for extra storage though. Also, thank heavens DH has that little storage barn for his mower, edger, etc in the back yard. Barb...how's *our* patient doing these days? Appetite picking up any? Hope so. I saw in the news about the Missouri River floods. It's certainly a mess. OK...I knew I should not speak of the lack of rain...it just started again...really coming down BIGtime! Donna...I don't think you should be working in the yard with that swelling in your leg. Really. You certainly don't want to prolong your recovery time, kiddo. I would think you should elevate it as much as possible...at work and at home...at least until the weekend. You are worrying me! well...welcome home Peg!!! Looks like you are hitting the ground running, eh? Sure hope the move goes smoothly. Will your DD and DGKs be able to help you this weekend? Drop in when you can; but we understand if you can't. Just remember...we EXPECT more pic-chas(when you are able!)!! Judy...sounds like you guys are pretty *soggy* as well. The weather guys mentioned last night that our lakes are FINALLY up to normal as well. Actually, a little over normal...picnic tables are underwater at some of the lakes in central OK. One extreme to the other it seems...drought to floods! Keep yer' head above water, kiddo! Bren...I hope you are OK. I'm worrying about you as well. Nita...be well...stay dry too! Everyone else...hope you guys are good! You are missed pool side! Tomorrow will be one week mark of induction for me. I think it's going pretty good. For some reason, it really seems easier and more natural this time...dunno why. Anyhoo...onward and downward...I hope! later, chickadees, (((hugs)))...soggy as they may be Shelley

| Okay, one more and that's it! This is our dessert at our table on the night we celebrated our 25th anniversary. We met two other couples on the plane going there and ate our dinners together almost every night. They were celebrating with us this night. I am hardly ever photogenic, so I don't know what happened on this trip. Must be the "picha fairy!" |

![]() Saw this in today's paper...............Ain't it the truth!! Peg --- another great picture! Donna -- glad your doing OK We had a big thunderstorm this afternoon. The police radio reported a possible tornado about 20 miles away close to the time that school was to let out. After the tornado in Tennessee(??) in February that tore up their school, there was consideration for holding the kids and not letting them leave. As it turned out, it was a false alarm. By the time I got to leave the rain had quit. We are spongy --- if we had a basement it would be a swimming pool! Like Nita said, it's a very rare Texas house that has a basement. (However, there were some in Lubbock. It was whole lot nicer to be in one of them during a tornado than in my Grandma's dirt cellar.)
