| My last reply in the apartment.l Movers come in an hour or so, then off to the frantic rush to get everything over there in a hurry (they are paid by the hour). Now I have to shut down and disconnect everything and find a place for it. See ya when I figure out how to set up the new modem and stuff. Peg |

| You know the saying "when it rains, it pours"? Well, it just hit here...big time. Everything was going good and we were looking forward to our camping weekend with the ballteam and all heJJ broke loose at work. We got a phone call at 8:30 last night that dd was working just pissed. She was fine when she went to work at 3 so she obviously took it with her. DH grabbed his work shirt and just flew up there to the store. Yup...she was loaded all right. He found cans of beer in her coat pockets and an empty orange juice bottle that stunk of vodca. She'll never learn not to drink on antidepressants. So...now we can't trust her and it looks like the camping weekend is off. With it being a long weekend it will be super busy and we can't work the store with 1 person short. I want her fired...we'll see what dh does. With most of the swelling gone my weight has settled at 161.5...not too bad. Not what I would have wanted to see but I'll take it. I spend the whole day outside yesterday digging up trailing roots from lilacs. They sure can make a mess. They were trying to take over a whole planter by sending out shoots. At one point I was bent over trying my best to dig out one when my hand slipped on the shovel and I punched myself right in the nose. lol I thought I'd broken it actually....sure did hurt. I was a little more careful after that. Alida: I didn't think there were people left in this world that are as kind as Yau Man. What a nice man! I'd have been furious....but I guess Dreamz was right...it's all in the game. I'm glad that Alex won though...and I didn't realize he was from Kansas City either until I saw it on the tv last night. I think Dreamz sealed his fate when he didn't give up the immunity. China should be different for a Survivor. Peg: Hope it all goes smoothly for your move. Don't forget to give us your new e-mail address. Shelley: I had about the same kind of day yesterday that you did. Changed the linens and did a little housework and then outside for the rest of the day. It was relaxing for me though. Judy: Hang in there girl...school will be over soon and you can have some "you" time. Sorry I have to cut this short....it's my busy day so I have to get back to work. One good thing is that the boss is out of town for 2 days.

| Hi guys, On my way in a few minutes to my eye exam. ack! That means I'll wrestle at least a good hour or more picking out frames. The ones I got last year have NOT held up very well. Besides, the *sweet spot* where the bifocal is set is probably less than an a hair! I've fought them since I got them, and I can't wait to get rid of 'em! Anyhoo... Alida...anytime you need *buddy kitty* support... just say the word. Heck, email me anytime as far as that goes. Barb...I'm really gonna be cautious with OWL this time. I'm just so glad my body seems willing to do this, this time around. For me, it's still a matter of calories in vs calories out; just need to make sure those carb calories stay under control Donna...ouch! on the nose boo-boo. Sorry to hear DD fell off the wagon again. Gosh, if anyone ever need rehab, she's the one. Hang in there, OK? Heather...sounds like you got some sweet, sweet gifts from your little sweeties. Homemade/handmade is often the best! Judy...yay...your summer vacation is in sight! How long is the NE gig? Flying or driving? If you drive...let's try to meet up for lunch or coffee or a marita...or.... LOL. Peg...God's speed Oh...I talked to Bren yesterday. She is fine, just busy with life right now. Hoping she will get to pop in soon. Other MIAs...you are missed too! Gotta jet....I'm going to try to work in a stop at the New Balance store for some more inserts for athletic shoes. Changing them everytime I switch shoes is a PITA! LOL! probably back later... (((hugs to all))) Shell

| Oh Donna, what relief! I hope that she will be able to meet the challenges that are in front of her, now. She has the help, she just needs to take the steps. Quote:

| 1400 student essay questions??? Crikey! After eight days, you must be cross-eyed! As I recall, though, they pay you well for this gig, and there's some fun to be had on the side. I certainly hope so! Nebraska isn't exactly Tahiti, but we take what we can get. Donna, I'm glad the Rehab has finally come through. As usual, I urge you to continue to detach yourself as much as possible from the results. Rehab isn't magic. It's just a form of care. The outcome is only as good as the client's determination. At least this will give you a little breather. And you can start looking at candidates for the job. Sorry about the camping trip postponement. This month is going by a lot faster for me than last month. I wonder why?? Dh has asked me to assemble the ingredients for some of his favorite salads, which he will make. Pea salad, pasta salad, etc. Any kind of activity--like shaving--is exhausting. But he's making the attempt. He looks way better. Alida, a long weekend will be welcome to the rest of us, too. You are such a hard worker. I'm glad the project with the stones around the tree worked out so well. Take care of you today. Shelley, I started my Fitday record yesterday. I'm "gooder" when I know I have to write things down. I shrugged off the Chocolate Bark demon. But who can feel deprived with steak and salad with buttermilk ranch dressing?Everybody take care of you today. |

| Good morning! Donna, finally! It has been a long, hard wait for that bed in rehab. I'll bet tomorrow can't come soon enough for you. As Judy said, she'll have the help now, if she will just take the steps. Hugs and prayers!!! Barb, your message magically appeared between the time I got on the thread and went to "advanced" to post. LOL about Nebraska not being Tahiti! But it's so true that we'll take what we can get. In my case, it may be a few days at a condo in Lake of the Ozarks. My DIL has a friend who offered the space free for a week. Bob and I may only go for a long weekend, but at least we'd get out of Dodge! Larry is thinking about cooking again? That's a wonderful sign! Judy, now I remember Nebraska! If I recall, they have lots of goodies for you to eat ..... Shelley, thanks for the info on Brenda. I am glad everything's OK! And good luck with the eye exam. I need to have one, too. Peg, how was it waking up in your new place this morning? And did the move go well? Tomorrow I start my new time schedule at work. I'll go in a little later and stay until 5. I guess May and June are their busiest months, so the time between 3 and 5 gets hectic. I usually leave around 3:45 - 4:00. But I will have more time in the morning to visit with you! Have a wonderful day! XXOO

| Alida, a little retreat to the lake will be heavenly. The price is right, too. I was going to suggest that Judy postpone any thought of diet management until AFTER Nebraska. No sense putting a damper on one of the perks, especially when she'll be working so hard. It would be all right to pick and choose from among many treats, but to say NO to everything? No way. |

| Morning ladies. It's going to be a scorcher here today....love it! Hope the weather holds until this weekend cause we DO get to go on our camping trip. I put my foot down and told dh to write the work schedule for our employees and just tell them they had to work. His problem is that he tries to be their best friend instead of their employer and he doesn't want to hurt anyones feeling. Crap! They are paid well for what they do. Anyway, surprisingly, no one complained and they are all willing to help out. I hated to do it (sneeky grin here), but I had to say to him....told you so! So, it's off to camp this weekend. Alida: You're right I can't wait until tomorrow. I'm not sure what it will feel like to go to bed at night and know where my dd is and what she's up to. It will be a long road...but she's tough. Barb: I know....I'm still detached. You wouldn't believe how many times I wanted to pick up the phone yesterday and remind her of something that she needed to do before she leaves tomorrow. But...I didn't do it. Yay, for me!! I don't even know how she is getting to town. I do do up her separation slip so she can collect medical unemployment while she's off work. Also, I know that it's up to her how much this rehab works...it's going to be hard work too....detox will be the worst I think. I can remember what my brother went through....not pretty. My friend in Alberta is still coming, but the dates keep getting changed. Now it's not until the 30th of May. Probably better cause it gives me time to relax a little (and grow some hair before then!!) Last night I slipped away from work a little early and headed to my favorite nursery. Another $20 bought the last of the plants for the front yard. I must say....I'm really happy with the way it's looking. I filled in the small holes in the lawn from where the tree landed on it when it was cut down...poor Lily stepped in one and must have twisted her foot. Now she's afraid to walk on the grass. Now, comes the waiting game for everything to bloom. I sat outside last night on my new park bench with book and a cup of tea...waiting for dh to come home. Really enjoyed it. We put it in the best part of the yard where we can see everything...the hummingbirds coming to the feeder, and the little kittens next door trying to sneak through the fence. Very relaxing. Speaking of hummingbirds...I couldn't figure out why my fat cat kept sleeping under my Wojelia tree in the back yard. This tree has so many blooms that you can hardly see a leaf. It was dh that pointed out to me that the hummingbirds have started to come around to the backyard for the blooms on the tree. I watched last night as one hovered just above the cats face and he just sat there and watched it. He'd get a good smack if he did more than that, believe me. Lots to do....not enough time....back later I hope.

| Hi guys, Just dropping in to say hey. Not much to add to the conversation at the moment, so I'll mosey on and do some chores...lucky me! LOL! Eye exam went well yesterday. Just needed a little power tweek to the bifocal part of my glasses. I totally did a 360 and chose a cute little full frame dark maroon number for my new glasses. A splash of color is always a good thing, right????? (((hugs to all!))) later chickadees! S.

| Hey girlfriends, I hope I can still find a chair at the fireplace (or around the air conditioner for some of you). As I've told some of you (Shell, Peg, Judy), after two adjacent spells of being offline here, I got out of the habit of checking in. I did, however, manage to get an incredible about of "stuff" done here at home. Home duties are now wearing thin (always a short burst for me, LOL), the weather will soon be too hot to work outside, and most of all I just plain miss you all. I'll catch up as I go, ok???

| Hi gang!! I'm relaxing here in the bedroom while my guys are playing the Wii. I've walked a lot these past few days doing my Leslie Samson 4 mile video and then walking my son back and forth to school. A break from the treadmill is needed so I don't overdo it. These last few days I'm blessed with 17,000 - 20,000 steps on my pedometer. ------------------------------------------ Peg - Hoping everything goes well with your move. Judy - Hope you are able to find your groove getting those essays read! Barb - I'm from a military family too. My dad was air force and I'm fortunate to have only moved one place to move back to Montana. I think that part of the problem I have with wanting to make friends come from having them all move away after a few years. Alida - Can't wait to see pictures! Donna - Great news on your dd! What a long wait you've had and I'm sure you are anxious to have your daughter back to her old self again. // Your weight sounds pretty good to me considering you haven't been able to get in your walking. I would have been up big #'s so maintaining weight is impressive! Shelley - I think color in glasses looks classy. BC - Howdy!! |

| I'm here early because it's Wednesday (my, that came fast!) and cycle day. I like to get some breakfast and caffeine in circulation beforehand. Not ideal for digestion, but better than trying to do it on empty. Brenda, nice to see you! Step in as you wish. There's no way to "catch up" on that ever-flowing river of everybody's lives. Heather, one effect of moving often while growing up is that I'm a forward-looking person. I enjoy novelty and change more than most people. Now however, I like to keep certain things the same as a solid base--important things like the same husband, the same job, the same house, the same church. That sounds like a lot of "same," but within that, I'm still evolving. Once upon a time, we were supposed to move to Great Falls, Montana, but ended up in Tripoli, Libya instead. I still want to see Montana, so keep the door open for me. The weatherman here says we're anticipating the opposite of a "scorcher"--a cold front on the way down from Canada. How come you get the hot ones up there in the high desert, Donna? I'm imagining you surrounded by lovely blooms in your beautiful garden. I believe this is your saving grace, and a great one, too. Shelley, I'll bet the new glasses are classy! Take care everybody. |

| Good morning! My boss changed her mind again and I don't start my new later schedule until next week. Actually, it's because she has a 9 am hair appointment this morning and needed me to come in earlier. That's OK. I understand about hair appointments! So this will be quick .... Barb & Heather ... I've never been to Montana, either. But Bob has been there and says it is beautiful. Maybe one day .... Shelley, when you say full frame do you mean regular size instead of the really skinny ones? Actually, I think those are better for bi-or trifocals anyway. More area to see through! CRS ... what color were your old glasses? Dark maroon sounds sexy! Brenda, so glad to hear from you! I am looking forward to hearing what you did around the house. Exciting stuff like painting or just a little re-organization? Donna, by now your daughter is in Rehab! Whew. Will you have any contact with her while she's there to see how she's doing? Or is she pretty much incommunicado as per their regulations? Off to get ready for work. Have a good one. XXOO
