Ah, Shelley, Why do you have to go and be so good. Actually, you are just what I need to keep myself on track. This has been a pretty ugly day calorie wise. I had chicken fajitas wrapped in LC tortillas tonight for dinner. I haven't gotten brave enough to enter the numbers and see what a disaster the day became. ** Weight this morning was 156.5. Like I suspected and definitely remember from the previous run with serious OWL is that the day I overeat the weight doesn't not negatively react......... but the next day (even with very low calories) it comes back and bites me in the rear. Still, even with the little bounce I am down 2 for the week. I wonder how tomorrow will look?

Saturday morning: The bloat's gone. Whoosh. I'm back to 135 in a big hurry. Now it's time to get on with the serious business of restoring my LC lifestyle. Woman does not live on tuna salad and scrambled eggs alone. Time to dig out the LC recipes. I did polish off the open bottle of wine in the fridge last night. Now I'll reserve wine-drinking for dinners out and special occasions. That's not much of a limitation actually, but much better than my habit of wine every night. My summary/average for the three days looks like this: Calories 1478 Fat 112 g 69% Prot 77 g 21% Carb 16g NET Alc 5% This is actually about what I'd like my lifestyle numbers to be--with the addition of carbs in the form of veggies, nuts, and berries. Clearly, it's much easier to make eating decisions when you're living alone. If it isn't in the kitchen, it doesn't get eaten. Peg, I love corned beef and cabbage. I'll put that on my grocery list. I'm kicking that ol' Carb Creep in the a$$. Ya'll can too! Have a great LC weekend.

Barb: As usual, your enthusiasm for this lifestyle is pretty amazing! Congratulations! Bren: Thanks for the encouragement. I was hoping for a much bigger loss. But, then when I looked at it, I have actually lost 4 pounds this week. That's not too bad, huh? I didn't lose any today. Still at 200 even. I'll post my numbers later.

Peg, and Barb............outstanding 1st week results. I was still at 156.5 this morning. That's -2 for the week (well the week since starting on Monday.) I hope it holds through the weekend. Barb, you are so right....... it is easier to eat on plan when you are the only one in the house. When DH went hunting last fall, I did a week of "real" induction. He's going again at the end of January. I see that as another good opportunity.

Random decision........ It's not "induction" but I'm going out to buy some little squares of dark chocolate. It's amazing how one or two little squares a day keep me from feeling deprived.

Judy, little squares of dark chocolate are the secret to bliss. Go for it. I buy Hallmark's Gillham & Grand dark chocolate with espresso. Watch for a Russell Stover coupon in your Sunday paper--freebie on a bag of their dark chocolate squares.

| Just thought I'd drop in. You all are doing great! I haven't dusted off Diet Power yet, but the tremendous drop in carbs from what I was eating to what I am eating now has helped me drop 3 pounds for the week. Remember ... I started on Wednesday! Speaking of recipes, since Bob wanted me to go to the store with him, I started going over my old LC recipes. I have forgotten how good some of them are! That crock pot is going to get a real work-out! Barb -- do you have one? Big difference this time around. No low carb milk or yogurt. I hope WalMart still carries the low carb ketchup. If not, I'll have to order from Netrition.

| today's scoop:
on the chocolate...I buy the Lindt 72% at Walmart neighborhood market. 4 nice sqs are a serving, but I am usually happy with 2. on the heinz one carb catsup...ditto, I buy it at the same place. It's next to the regular catsup and it has a blue band on the label with blue writing. I'll try and post my homemade LC catsup recipe; it's really easy, tastes just like heinz. on the LC milk/yogurt...ditto I buy it at the same place as well. Carb countdown is now called Calorie countdown(I think?) and the dannon LC yogurt is now called Dannon Light & Fit; carb and sugar control yogurt. hth s WTG Alida!!! a BIG wOOt for you!!!dance2

Okay, here's my numbers for yesterday: Calories: 875 Carbs: 15 net Prot: 57.8 Fat: 62.8 Weight today: 200.2 Numbers for today: Calories: 1328 Carbs: 111 net (Yikes!) Prot: 60.3 Fat: 54.5 Alcohol: 9% Yeah, I finished my wine today that was opened since Christmas. I still have half the bottle of egg nog. I may have to finish it too! I was a little bummed today not to have lost more. Remembered that I lost more if I mixed up the days: one high and one low. Hoping that it might help tomorrow. I suspect that it won't. I had two slices of garlic bread and a 1/2 c of rice pudding today at lunch. I suspect that is the high carbs! See ya tomorrow! Peg

Tracking today........blew it off. It would have been pretty high in calories. On the other had, I can say that at least I stayed away from all breads and avoided all sugar with the exception of two dark chocolate squares.
