Default Induction Junction

OK vets, (and others in need of accountability and tracking!)

We can track our daily food totals, water intake, exercise, our JOYS when we lose, and our PAIN when we slip. But most of all, we can have the support of our friends along the way!
That's what I feel I need to get myself back on the losing track, yanno?

I started yesterday, 12/30 because I wanted some control back in my eating.
All the holiday treats that didn't get consumed got pitched in the trash(except for the queso, that DH begged me NOT to throw out!).
Soooooo, I didn't have induction level carbs yesterday(I ended the day with 43 carbs), but it was enough to give me a 2lb loss this morning...yipee skipee!

Sooooooooooo, here's to a great 2008, and that we all meet our goals, weightloss or otherwise!!!

Happy New Year!!!
(((hugs to all!)))

Shelley,
Thanks for starting the thread. I do think that a tracking/accountability thread was effective in keeping me motivated when I first began on this list. I'm putting the starting stats out there for all to see ........

weight this morning: 158.5
goal weight: 138
goal date: May 31, 2008
to meet goal: lose an average of 1 pound per week

Adccording to Fitday, I am moderately overweight. I feel it! I have gained back 20 pounds of the 40 I lost about 5 years ago. I WILL NOT GET BACK TO FAT AGAIN. I WILL GET BACK TO THIN AGAIN.

Happy New Year and Happy accounting everyone.

1st day back at this.............. I was starving! I ate too many calories, but the carbs were at least acceptable.
  • 1609 calories
  • 126g fat
  • 40g carb
  • 6g fiber (and some metamusil not counted_
  • 34g net carb
  • 82g protein
Actually, 30 net carbs is about as good as I get. That's pretty much "induction" for me. My prime losing level is around 1400 calories and net carbs under 45. I'm going to have to work at getting right with this WOE again.

Waytago, girlfriends! I'll be with you on Wednesday. I'll probably track my stats in Fitday, and bring them over here.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a little champagne to drink.

Happy New Year!

All I can say is I need to find my Atkins book. Can you believe I have forgotton what I can eat? OK. Eggs, meat, a little cheese, water, water, water, a little cream (this is a toughie for me) and green veggies. And even those can only be 3 cups. Is that pretty much it??

I also think this time, a lot of the low-carb stuff I depended on before is no longer on the market, namely the milk and the yogurt. Those two items were wonderful once on OWL.

Sheesh. I have to brush off Diet Power! XXOO

Alida, one of the reasons that I always seem to have a higher carb count is that I eat yogurt (generally with All-Bran mixed in) every morning for breakfast. I eat an artifically sweetened store brand that has about 11-13 carbs per cup.

The chicken salad sounds good. Yesterday I have a green salad for the first time in quite a while. I may stick with that for a few days. It certainly is easy to throw some bag salad in a bowl and take it to school for lunch. Of course, the cheese and dressing run the calories way up.

Whatever works, Judy! It's amazing that your induction carbs are 30. Even my OWL carbs rarely went over 25! Do you get into Ketosis with 30 or do you just bypass checking for that?

Judy: CONGRATULATIONS for being brave enough to post your weight and tell how much you have gained. So...........Here I go:

This morning I weighed 204.4 That's everything I lost except for two pounds! At my most weight lost, it was 30. I'd like to lost more, but I would settle very nicely for 30.

I'm just starting today. Still have lots of "illegal" foods in the house, so am praying that I can leave them alone. Even better, I'm praying that I can convince dh to toss them.

Back later with numbers.

If I can stay under 30 I get good levels of ketosis. At 30 it's only a faint purple. After a while I forget to check. I'll give it another day and then start checking. Like this thread, it's good for accountability.

Wink Re: Induction Junction

down another 1 lb this morning for a total of down 3lbs since my start day on Sunday, 12/30/07.

today's scoop:
  • 1361 cal
  • 78g fat
  • 78g pro
  • 70g carb
  • 30g fiber
  • 40g net carb not exactly *induction level*, but hey...no sugar crossed these lips today!
a random confession: it's agony to me to drink 8, 8oz glasses of water when it's so d*mn cold outside! I got in over 72 oz of fluids today, they just weren't all water! My bad!

Headed for day #4! Off we go!

I didn't even want to finish plugging in the numbers tonight......... random confession...........Surprise, this isn't induction! Like Shelley, at least I kept the sugar and bread out of my mouth. At this point I consider that a victory.
  • weight: didn't check this morning
  • 1543 calories
  • 103g fat
  • 65g carb
  • 16g fiber
  • 51g net carb
  • 97g protein
Shelley, I agree about the water. I do pretty good when I am at home, but my room at school is so cold that I exist on coffee and tea.

Allll-righty then! The dawn of Day One for me.

Stepped on the scales: 140 (that's about 8-10 above where I like to be)
Got chicken salad and deviled eggs for lunch. Green salad and something protein for dinner. I wonder if I've got some ketostix around here somewhere??
I did 30 minutes/2 miles on the treadmill (10 minutes running) plus a few reps with weights, and 16 push-ups (8 fast, 8 slow).

The leftover pecan pie and remainder of a box of Wheat Thins are in the trash.

Ready...set...go!

P. S. I just realized that "January tracking" has been renamed. Only one place to post. That works. Those NOT on induction, please post anyway.

P.P.S. No, January Tracking is still there! Boy, am I confused! Anyway, I managed to get into my Fitday Account, and my Public Journal is still activated. So, if you want to see my menu detail, click on the Fitday Journal link in my post, and you'll see the whole show.

Judy, enjoy your extra day off.
Berta, how's that suntan coming along?
Heather, have you exhausted the world of Rock Band?
